A FORMER boxing world champion ate curry and chips in a sulk just one week before fighting on the Eubank-Benn undercard.
Back in October 1993, the two boxing legends were ready to meet at Old Trafford for their highly-anticipated rematch.

In a blockbuster month for boxing, Lennox Lewis was fighting Frank Bruno in Cardiff the week before.
Future world champion Barry Jones watched the clash with his feet up after being brutally snubbed of a spot on the undercard.
The young Welshman had won the first five professional fights of his career and believed he should have got his big break that night, only for Joe Calzaghe 's debut to be chosen instead.
But Jones would get his opportunity sooner than expected, telling DAZN: "I remember it so well, I was having curry and chips from in a rugby club from a polystyrene tray.
"I was watching Bruno vs Lewis on the screen and I was sulking because I wasn't on the show because I was undefeated and a big ticket seller.
"On the Sunday morning, I got a call from my trainer, not asking me but telling me, I was fighting on the undercard at Old Trafford.
"I boxed out my skin and I remember the atmosphere being fantastic."
Jones beat John White on points that evening before Eubank and Benn was judged a draw.
It turned out to be just his first huge win and he went on to claim the WBO super featherweight title in 1997.
But Jones was stripped of his belt after a routine brain scan flagged an anomaly.
Chris Eubank Jr silences press conference with moving speech on brother's death and dad thinking he's a 'disgrace'
There was a gap in his membrane and doctors were concerned over an increased likelihood of him suffering brain damage as a boxer.
The British Boxing Board of Control suspended him and stripped him of his title before he was cleared to fight again a year later.
Since retiring, Jones has become a top commentator for the likes of Sky Sports and BoxNation.

Gerwyn Price spots real reason 'rubbish' Luke Littler and Luke Humphries were humiliated
Gerwyn Price spots real reason 'rubbish' Luke Littler and Luke Humphries were humiliated The Welshman reached the final with Jonny Clayton after 'rubbish' England were knocked out in the first knockout round Price branded England's performance at the World Cup of Darts as 'rubbish' Wales' Gerwyn Price has given his take on why England's Luke Littler and Luke Humphries were humiliated in the first knockout round at the World Cup of Darts despite being the overwhelming pre-tournament favourites. Alongside teammate Jonny Clayton, Price helped to take Wales all the way to the final in Frankfurt, with the duo easing past the Phillipines, Hong Kong and the Netherlands before meeting Northern Ireland in Sunday night's final showdown. However, it wasn't to be as the Northern Irish team of Daryl Gurney and Josh Rock came out on top 10-9 to win the tournament for the first time. But while Price and Clayton could be proud of their performance, which saw them come painfully close to winning a third World Cup title, the same cannot be said for Littler and Humphries. While they are the world's top two players, they were well beaten by hosts Germany in the tournament's second round on Saturday, with the partnership of Martin Schindler and Ricardo Pietreczko producing an inspired display to claim a sensational 8-4 victory. It was the first time that Littler and Humphries had partnered each other in the tournament, with the former making his debut and the latter appearing for a second time after playing alongside Michael Smith last year. While the two English players are good friends away from the oche, Price says that the duo - who both received MBEs in the King's Birthday Honours - "didn't show a team ethic" in the lead up to their defeat to Germany. Article continues below "I think you need to have a connection," said the 40-year-old former world champion. "You need to have that camaraderie off the stage and connection because when we all turned on the first day - and I'm not just saying this because they lost - but the only two players that didn't turn up together, didn't sit together, didn't play as a team "I'm not saying who they are but they didn't win their first game." Branding Littler and Humphries' performance as "rubbish", 'The Iceman' added: "You need to turn up together, you need to be as a team. "You turn up as a team, you practice together, you sit together. It's a team ethic and it didn't show with England. "It showed on the board. They're great players individually but you need to be as a team. Article continues below "I wanted them to do well, but they didn't," Price continued. "I'm not just saying that! I wanted them to do well, but they were rubbish." After beating England, world number 18 Schindler told Sky Sports that he was right to think that their opponents were "beatable" as he and Pietreczko "believed in ourselves". He added: "We have been putting in a solid performance, and obviously the double 16s from Ricardo just went in, so we are very happy to go through."

Boxing fans destroy Jake Paul over 'delusional' Muhammad Ali claim
The 28-year-old has become a real household name since making his professional boxing debut - but fans have completely slated his recent comments Jake Paul has come in for some brutal criticism after he compared himself to Muhammad Ali ahead of his fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The YouTuber-turned-boxer was last seen in the ring back in November when he defeated former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson. Despite failing to get the knockout on fight night, the 28-year-old cruised to a victory on points at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. Paul will take on Chavez Jr in Anaheim on June 28. The American is hoping that the fight will kickstart a busy year in the ring after a few months away from competitive action. Chavez Jr - who holds a professional record of 54-6-1 - defeated former UFC middleweight contender Uriah Hall in his last outing. The Mexican fighter has also stepped in the ring with the likes of Andy Lee, Canelo Alvarez, Daniel Jacobs and former UFC champion, Anderson Silva. Since making his professional debut in 2020, the young star has helped grow the sport of boxing has gained millions of fans in the process. After his fight with Tyson, Netflix revealed the viewership for the fight was 60 million households. The streaming service reports that at its peak, 65 million screens were tuned in to the dust-up. He has also received plaudits for his work in growing women's boxing with Most Valuable Promotions. The 28-year-old believes he has made a big difference in the sport and has put himself alongside Ali. In a recent interview with DAZN, Paul made a stunning claim about his accolades in boxing. 'To me, [Chavez] has done nothing in this sport. I feel like I'm the only one doing it. Everyone else is just trying to gatekeep or say that they're doing things for the sport, or something is bad for boxing. But I'm the greatest thing to happen to boxing since Muhammad Ali, and there's no debating that,' Paul said. 'No other fighter is building gyms, getting boxing gloves into the hands of kids, throwing multiple events a year, donating my whole entire purse back into my own charity when I fought in Puerto Rico… I've done this in only 12 fights, where Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather, Marvin Hagler, you can name any of these people, fought nobodies for their first 15-20 fights, and no one even knew who they were.' Following his comments, it is fair to say that fight fans were left unimpressed and were quick to take to social media. One fan wrote: 'Is he serious?' While another commented: 'Jake does NOT believe this and once again he trolls everyone to stay in the headlines. How can nobody see this.' A third fan replied: 'This m*********** is annoying," while another user commented: 'Delusional, he's not a boxer.' A fifth replied: 'Someone needs to smack his light head.' A sixth posted: 'Celebrity boxing is so cringe," whole another wrote: 'Go f*** yourself Jake Paul you balding rat.' With Paul continuing to make a name for himself, Ali's grandson - Biaggio Ali Walsh - believes the late boxing icon would have been all for Paul's contest with Mike Tyson. He told Mirror Fighting: "In terms of the circus fights, that's what I like to call them - it's money orientated. It's not like it's not based on talent anymore, really. It's based on, you know, just the biggest name versus the biggest name, regardless of your skill level. "But to make of that... I honestly don't think he would disapprove of it, because the viewership in the eyes and people buying to watch the fight was the reason he even started trash-talking and brought out his personality anyway. Yeah, so in a way, I feel like he'd be supportive of it. "You know, if you can fool millions of people to watch you fight, then you're doing something right, right? So I feel like he wouldn't disapprove of it. I feel like he would…it would be entertaining for him to see what's next, like, who's the next big name versus the next big name, you know? So I don't think he would disapprove of it. In fact, I think he would be entertained by it."
