Longmeadow residents vote in annual town election
LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Voters in Longmeadow went to the polls Tuesday to decide contested races for the select board and the school committee. Crunch Fitness opens in East Longmeadow, offering personalized classes Dan Zwirko, with 1,219 votes, and Shelly Maynard-Dewolf, with 1,150 votes, won the two seats on the select board, finishing ahead of Mark Gold and Maury Garrett. On the school committee side, there are two separate races on the ballot. The first was a three-way race for two seats on the school committee for a three-year term. The two top vote-getters in that race were Emily Hansen, with 1,426 votes, and Zachary Verriden, with 1,375 votes. Finally, there was a two-way race for a single seat on the school committee for a two-year term. H. Kate Bean was the winner of that race with 1,228 votes.
