I stayed in London's best boutique hotel – this is why it's better than all the rest
THE best boutique hotel in London have been revealed - and I stayed at the winner.
Artist Residence in Pimlico was named the best by Muddy Stilettos in this year's London Awards.

Along with hotels in Bristol, Oxfordshire, Brighton and Cornwall, the London hotel was the first I'd stayed in.
My biggest bugbear with a hotel is when the rooms feel too sterile and uniform, making it feel not very cosy.
Yet Artist Residence are made to feel like you are staying at your eccentric auntie's house, who loves trinkets and unique artwork.
The London hotel has just 10 rooms, and is around five minutes from Victoria Station so is extremely centrally located.
The most basic room is the Small Room which still have king size beds and rainfall shower bathrooms, as well as space for an armchair and writing desks.
I stayed in the Club Suite, the second largest in the hotel with a grand Super King bed with velvet scalloped headboard.
Not only does it have amazing views over Cambridge Street, but it has a beautiful roll top bath.
However, it is tucked down a quiet side-street so don't expect much noise at night.
When walking inside, it is full of brightly coloured curated artwork,
This includes free breakfast as well as a bottle of rose in the room.

The Cambridge Street restaurant is one of the best hotel restaurants I've been to, and even rivals some top London restaurants as well.
The breakfast has all of the classics, from Full English to pastries but the chili fried egg and bacon brioche is a stela option to choose.
But the dinner shines with everything with the insanely delicious asparagus and pea gnocchi for vegetarians or the Med-inspired Sumac roast chicken .
I'm also still dreaming of their rich chocolate mousse, complete with fresh English strawberries and whipped cream.

The cocktail list is just as extensive, with the Artist No. 15's lychee and elderflower my favourite.
It's not just me saying that - one woman wrote on Tripadvisor that is was one of "the most delicious meals of our trip," with a second adding: "Best kept secret (restaurant) in London."
Another said the hotel feels like their "second home" and another wrote: "Felt more like staying at a friends stylish home than in a hotel".
To celebrate the win, Artist Residence is offering a free "two-night treat" for anyone who books a stay up to June 5.
Other events coming up include Sip & Paint night which costs £35 on June 16.
Rooms start from £250 a night.

I received an interesting E-mail from a reader last week, following up on a recent long-term report on the single-motor Volvo EC40 I'm currently driving. It turns out that our reader, a keen petrolhead called Derek Dunthorne, is running the twin-motor version of the Volvo EC40, and although it's in a different specification to mine and something of an upgrade, we share many similar opinions. He also gave me some background information on his buying decision. Moving away from several Porsche Macans, this would be his – wait for it – 56th car. What particularly impressed him was Volvo's interior quality and finish; they're not quite at Porsche standards, in his opinion, but better than the Korean alternatives. He initially considered the smaller and newer EX30, but found he preferred the more conventional driver displays of the EC40, which is something I happen to agree with. It also turns out that we are even getting the same miles per kWh. But the really interesting information from Derek was beyond even what our long-term reports can offer. It transpires that he bought the car at six months old with 1,800 miles on the clock for a discount of 33 per cent on the new price and a three per cent PCP (to hedge against depreciation). He was impressed with Volvo's used car 30-day exchange policy, and as it transpired that was a good choice, because he actually ended up using it. Unhappy with his first car for a number of reasons, he returned it and the company refunded his money and allowed him to choose another, which he now loves. In terms of running costs, his are a fraction of mine. He uses the Octopus Energy Intelligent Go tariff that enables him to charge overnight for 7.0p per kWh. This means he has spent around £120 on electricity in 12 months and about 4,000 miles. Like many, he has never needed to use public charging, with all his journeys having been no longer than the 200 miles that the Volvo can comfortably complete. In the digital era, we often hear about information overload, but Derek's E-mail and the context of his purchase and ongoing experience really brought home the power of information for car buyers. Primark shoppers are raging at new change they've made at the tills shouting ‘they break before you get home already'
PRIMARK'S brown paper shopping bags are instantly recognisable on the high street. But as of last month, the retailer starting charging customers for them for the first time - and shoppers have been sharing their frustrations online. 4 4 From May 12, Primark said it would require customers to pay 15p for their paper bags, regardless of whether they were small, medium, or large. Up until that point, they had been completely free and aimed to be an environmentally-friendly alternative to plastic bags. However, they haven't gone down well with all customers. TikTok user Aamina - who posts under @aamina___ - uploaded a video saying: "Why is Primark now charging for paper bags? 'The bag charge was originally introduced to reduce plastic bag waste and shoppers were given bags for life. 'Now they are charging for one use paper bags that break by the time you get home. 'Is this just a money making scheme?' When it brought in the change, Primark said: 'Got a reuseable bag? Bring it along next time you visit our stores. 'Why the change?
