The summary for The Waterfront reads, 'For decades, the Buckley family has ruled Havenport, North Carolina, dominating everything from the local fishing industry to the town's restaurant scene. Born Oct. 4, 1988, Benoist's screen career kicked off in 2008 with a supporting role in the indie road trip comedy-drama Tennessee, which starred Ethan Peck and Mariah Carey.
In 2010, Benoist starred in a string of guest roles, in such shows as Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Blue Bloods, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and The Good Wife, followed by Homeland in 2011.

'Glee' (2012-2104)
Melissa Benoist brought her acting and voice prowess to Glee when she joined the FOX Television musical series as a cast regular in Season 4.
Benoist starred as Marley Rose in Glee through Season 5, appearing in 42 episodes. During Benoist's run in the series, she performed several covers of classic songs, from Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball,' Billy Joel's 'New York State of Mind' and ABBA's "Mamma Mia" to Olivia Newton-John's Grease tune 'Look at Me I'm Sandra Dee,' Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" and Bonnie Tyler's 'Holding Out for a Hero.'

Diddy's Ex-Assistant Brendan Paul Says 'Jane' Didn't Seem Hesitant to 'Freak Off'
Sean "Diddy" Combs' ex-assistant Brendan Paul says he didn't see any force or coercion from his former boss when it came to "freak-offs" with "Jane" ... and he says he was absolutely not a drug mule. Brendan, a former Syracuse University basketball player and aspiring music producer, took the stand Friday in Diddy's criminal trial in NYC and told jurors about his 18 months working as an assistant to the music mogul. During cross-examination from Diddy's defense attorney Brian Steel, Brendan testified he would often talk to Diddy's former girlfriend "Jane" before and after freak-offs ... and he said she did not come across as hesitant or apprehensive, and he says there was nothing from her indicating she was not a willing participant. The feds say Diddy was forcing and coercing Jane -- who testified under a pseudonym to protect her identity -- and Cassie into participating in freak-offs -- drug- and alcohol-fueled sex marathons with male sex workers -- but Diddy's defense says the encounters were consensual ... and Paul, who was called as a witness by prosecutors, appears to be backing that up. He said he wouldn't work for someone he thought was a criminal. It's worth noting ... on redirect, prosecutors asked Paul if he was in the room for the freak-offs -- and he said "No." Brendan also testified about being arrested with cocaine in his bag in March 2024 at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport when he was trying to board a plane with Diddy ... in the wake of federal raids on Diddy's homes in Los Angeles and Star Island, Miami. Paul told jurors the cocaine was Diddy's, but he forgot it was in his bag and said he didn't tell police the drugs were Diddy's because he wanted to be loyal to his boss. He says he came across the cocaine while "sweeping" Diddy's room and stuffed it in his bag. While Paul also testified about buying all kinds of drugs for Diddy's personal use and rolling up joints in Diddy's garage ... he says he was not a drug mule, as has been alleged in lawsuits against Diddy, and getting drugs for Diddy was only a minor part of his job duties. Diddy wore a gray sweater and black pants as he watched and listened to Paul's testimony ... and Paul told the juror he hadn't seen or spoken to Diddy since the drug bust, and characterized their relationship as "complicated." Brendan's attorney, Brian Bieber, told TMZ after his client got off the stand, "Brendan's testimony was crystal clear – he never was a 'drug mule' for Diddy or anyone else. He was subpoenaed to come to court and tell the truth, which he did - word for word."

‘Sanford and Son' and ‘The Waltons' actress Lynn Hamilton dead at 95
Lynn Hamilton, the actress known for her roles in "Sanford and Son" and "The Waltons," has died. She was 95. Hamilton died due to natural causes on Thursday in Chicago, Illinois, the actress's former publicist Rev. Calvin Carson confirmed to Fox News Digital. Carson also issued a statement on behalf of Hamilton's family in an Instagram post, in which he noted that she had passed away while "surrounded by her grandchildren, loved ones and caregivers." "With profound gratitude and admiration, we celebrate the extraordinary life of iconic actress Alzenia 'Lynn' Hamilton-Jenkins, whose remarkable legacy continues to uplift and inspire," the statement read. "Her illustrious career, spanning over five decades, has left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment, motivating audiences across the globe through her work as a model, stage, film, and television actress." "Her passing marks the end of an era, but her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift future generations," the statement read. In addition to her recurring roles on "Sanford and Son" and "The Waltons," Hamilton also made notable appearances on television shows and soap operas, including "Roots: The Next Generation," "The Golden Girls," "Generations," "Dangerous Women," "227" and "The Practice." Born on April 25, 1930, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, Hamilton grew up in Chicago Heights, Illinois. She graduated from the Goodman School of Drama Theater and launched her career in Chicago's community theater scene. Hamilton later moved to New York, where she made her Broadway debut in 1959's "Only in America." She continued acting on Broadway with roles in the plays "The Cool World," "Face of a Hero" and "Tambourines to Glory." The actress spent three years performing with the New York Shakespeare Festival and became a member of President Kennedy's cultural exchange program. While working with the program, she toured around the world, performing in the plays "The Miracle Worker" and "The Skin of Our Teeth." Hamilton joined the Seattle Repertory Theatre in 1966. She made her on-screen debut in John Cassavetes' improvisational film "Shadows." Hamilton went on to make guest appearances in TV series including "Room 222," "Mannix," "The Bill Cosby Show," "Gunsmoke," "Hawaii Five-O" and "Starsky & Hutch." Hamilton made her first appearance on "Sanford and Son" when she played a landlady in the show's seventh episode in February 1972. She was recast in the recurring role of nurse Donna Harris, who becomes the girlfriend and fiancée of series lead Demond Wilson (Lamont Sanford). Hamilton played the role of Donna from 1972 to 1977. The actress portrayed Verdie Grant Foster, a neighbor of the Walton family, in "The Waltons" from 1973 to 1981. Other TV credits include guest roles in "Moesha," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "NYPD Blue," "Port Charles" and "Judging Amy." Hamilton made her final on-screen appearance in an episode of "Cold Case" in 2009. Hamilton also appeared in the movies "Hangup," "Leadbelly," "The Jesse Owens Story," "Lady Sings the Blues," "Legal Eagles," "The Vanishing" and "Beah: A Black Woman Speaks." Carson's statement noted: "Throughout her remarkable career, Lynn frequently collaborated with her husband, Frank S. Jenkins, on various theater productions, including the acclaimed play 'Nobody, The Bert Williams Story.' Their partnership was a shining example of creativity, love, and dedication." Hamilton was married to Jenkins, a playwright and poet, from 1964 until his death in 2014.
