Speaking to reporters, Abdullah expressed doubts that such a well-coordinated assault-like the April 22 attack that killed 25 tourists and one local-could have happened without some form of assistance from within Kashmir.
"I don't think these (incidents) can happen without someone supporting them. They came from there-but how did they manage it?" he asked.

Recalling his time as chief minister in 1999, Abdullah said he had opposed the release of Maulana Masood Azhar, who later founded the Jaish-e-Mohammed. "He had made inroads here. And how do we know he didn't have a hand in this attack?" he added.
Following the
Pahalgam attack
, over 2,000 people across the Valley have been detained, summoned or questioned. At least 75 have been booked under the Public Safety Act.

Responding to criticism over his comments on local involvement, Abdullah asked, "Who started all this in 1989? Who went across for training? Who drove out the Pandits?"
"I have never supported terrorists. I was never Pakistani, I am not now, and I will never be," he said.
Calling Jammu & Kashmir an integral part of India and "the crown of the nation," Abdullah said, "We have Amarnathji here-he will protect this land."
Abdullah vowed that the Pahalgam attack would not go unanswered. "They (Pakistan) will be shaken. Their cup has overflowed. We will not back down-it is essential to root this out completely. That will bring peace to the souls lost in Pahalgam."
He added that Pakistan has never won with such tactics and will not succeed in the future either. "These sacrifices will not go in vain. These killers of humanity call themselves Muslims-they are not. They are the children of Satan."
Abdullah also touched on the
Indus Water Treaty
, saying the people of J&K were never consulted. "We suffered the most. We couldn't use a single drop for hydroelectricity or even draw a bucket of water. I appeal to the Government of India to allow the people of Jammu to use that water."

Bilawal Bhutto seeks dialogue with India, intel sharing to combat terrorism
The Pakistani side has suffered great losses after it attempted to target Indian defence and civil installations in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor. Bhutto, who served as the Foreign Minister earlier, addressed a briefing at the UN Headquarters in New York and sought reconciliation with India, making a plea for talks and Intel sharing between the two neighbours. New York: On a day that the Indian all-party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor arrived in Washington, DC as part of the global outreach on Operation Sindoor, Pakistan's delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto was in New York to try to push its case. As per an ongoing analysis of the damage inflicted upon by the Indian Air Force on Pakistan Air Force, it is emerging that 6 PAF fighter jets, two high-value aircraft, over 10 UCAVs, one C-130 transport aircraft, along with multiple cruise missiles, were destroyed by Indian air-launched cruise missiles and surface-to-air missiles. Now Bhutto wants to go back to diplomacy and dialogue, emphasising that it was the only viable path to peace. 'Pakistan would still like to cooperate with India to combat terrorism. We can't leave the fate of 1.5 billion, 1.7 billion people in the hands of non-state actors and terrorists,' he said. 'For them to decide, at a whim, that (when these) two nuclear-armed powers will go to war.' This statement, in effect, gives credence to India's stand that terror operatives based in Pakistan had planned the Pahalgam attack that saw the killing of 26 innocent people. India has also publicly stated that any further terrorist activity would warrant similar action. But Bhutto stressed the need for a dispute resolution mechanism. You can't have no dispute resolution mechanisms between two nuclear-armed countries,' he said. Ironically, Bhutto also suggested cooperation between Pakistan and India's intelligence agencies to take on terrorism in South Asia. 'I am completely confident that if ISI and RAW were ready to sit down and work together to fight these forces, we would see a significant decrease in terrorism in both India and Pakistan,' he said. Bhutto's placatory stance shows how deeply Pakistan has been affected by the strikes carried out during Operation Sindoor and Pakistan's need to seek peace in these circumstances. YSRCP protests against NDA govt's ‘betrayal' of people
1 2 Vijayawada: YSRCP leaders and cadres took to the streets across the state on Wednesday to participate in the 'betrayal day' protest, called by party supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy . The protests, which included rallies and dharnas, were held in all district headquarters, municipal towns, and mandal centers. Party leaders alleged that the Chandrababu Naidu-led NDA govt failed to implement its poll promises and had betrayed the people's verdict. YSRCP state coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that the massive turnout for the protest programme clearly indicated the govt's failure. He claimed that people had voluntarily attended the dharnas despite police restrictions and had voiced their dissent. He pointed out that people had realized the difference between Naidu and Jagan Mohan Reddy, who had fulfilled 99% of his promises within a year. He criticized the NDA government for stopping existing schemes and not rolling out promised ones, neglecting health, medical, and agriculture sectors, and pushing the poor into more debt. He also slammed the govt for downsizing the number of beneficiaries while boasting about increasing pension amounts. He highlighted the poor quality of governance, citing the example of physically challenged and aged people standing in queue lines to get ration after the door delivery system was scrapped. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo He further alleged that the NDA govt had secured debts of over Rs 1.51 lakh crore in just 11 months, which was much higher than the debt incurred during Jagan's regime. Surprisingly, the NDA govt did not implement even a single welfare scheme, he said. The YSRCP leader criticized the police for trying to restrict the protests and telling people how to conduct them. However, he said that people had vented their ire and participated in huge numbers despite these efforts. Sajjala emphasized that YSRCP, as a responsible opposition party, would always be with the people and would fight for justice until the ruling party fulfilled its promises. Former ministers, legislators, MPs, and district party presidents participated in the protest programme in their respective districts.
