Golden Knights at Devils projected goalies
Adin Hill (19-10-4, 2.69 GAA, .900 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Nico Daws (1-0-0, 1.44 GAA, .941 SV%)
Hill is coming off a 4-2 loss to the New York Rangers Sunday in which he stopped 24 of 28 shots. He has allowed 4 goals in 4 of 5 starts now. He hasn't faced New Jersey since a 4-3 shootout win March 3, 2023, in which he stopped 47 of 50 shots.
Daws was great in his first start of the season, which was a 3-2 shootout win over Pittsburgh Tuesday. He stopped 25 of 27 and has stopped 32 of 34 overall this year. Daws made 20 starts last year and went 9-11-0 with a 3.15 GAA and .894 SV%. He has not faced VGK.

Prediction
Devils 4, Golden Knights 3
Hill's struggles between the pipes are a little worrisome, and he's a much different goalie at home than on the road. At home, he's 13-3-2 with a 2.41 GAA and .910 SV%, but on the road, he's 6-7-2 with a 3.02 GAA and .888 SV%.
It's a close matchup, but in this pick 'em, I'll take the DEVILS -110 at home.
There's no play on the puck line here.
PASS.
The Devils are 5-5 O/U in their last 10, and the Knights are 4-4-2. The goaltending matchup leads me to the Over, though, as Hill has allowed 4 goals in 4 of 5 starts, and Daws is making just his second start of the year.
Take the OVER 5.5 (-110).

How Porter Martone, a top NHL Draft prospects and possible Bruins target, learned from the best

'I mean it was pretty special. Got to go play with a bunch of NHL players [at] the World Championships. Not every 18-year-old kid gets to say they can do that,' Martone said following his physical testing at the NHL Scouting Combine Saturday. 'I got to be around Sidney Crosby for a month straight. You can't put a price tag on that. I got to learn so much and I think I kind of got a little bit of a one up. I was around NHL players for a month, so going into the training camp, I definitely know what to expect.' Get Starting Point A guide through the most important stories of the morning, delivered Monday through Friday. Enter Email Sign Up Rubbing elbows with some of the world's elite players was an opportunity not afforded to many at such a young age. The on-ice education was invaluable, but was also how the pros conducted themselves when the games and practices were concluded. Advertisement 'I learned so much about the way that Crosby prepares himself for games, his routine, it's something special,' Martone said. 'When he goes to the rink, he's got something he does at a certain time on the clock, every single time. So that's pretty special.' It wasn't just Crosby who left an impression on Martone, who also represented Canada at the World Juniors. Advertisement 'Nathan McKinnon, how competitive he is,' said Martone. 'He said whether it's practice, playing a game in the hotel, or during games, he is always going to give it his all and he wants to be the best and he brings out the best in other people. And then you can look at Ryan O'Reilly, Brayden Schenn, they kind of took me under their wings, and how much fun they have at the rink, how good leaders they are.' One of Team Canada's goalies was sure-fire Hall of Famer and noted prankster Marc-Andre Fleury. Porter escaped Fleury's wrath, but he did get to witness some classic Fleury shenanigans. 'He got Adam Fantilli. [Fleury] sewed a cuff along the bottom of his pants together, so he couldn't put his pants on after the game, so that was pretty funny,' said Martone. A stout 6-foot-3-inch, 205-pound right winger, Martone finished ranked sixth on NHL Central Scouting's list of North American skaters. He is on the fast track to make an impact as a prototypical power forward. The Bruins currently hold the No. 7 pick in the Draft June 27 and a big-bodied winger with excellent vision and hockey sense could fit the bill nicely. Bear continuing rehab ahead of draft Carter Bear skipped the physical testing as the 6-foot, 180-pound center/left wing continues to rehab from an Achilles' injury suffered when a player accidentally stepped on the back of his leg earlier this year. Bear is an intense competitor who put up 40 goals and 82 points in 56 games for the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League. The 6-foot, 176-pounder's playing style (and last name) would make him an instant favorite in Boston ... William Horcoff's size (6-5, 190 pounds) and NHL pedigree (his father is longtime NHLer Shawn) make him an intriguing prospect. He rang up 8 goals and 14 points in 28 games with the US National Development Under-18 team and then collected 4 goals and 10 points in 18 games for Michigan last season. He is ranked No. 24 on CSB's North American skater list. 'My dad told me that if you want it, you've got to put everything into it, and I want it really bad,' he said. 'Just make sure you're not going to bed knowing you could have done more because if you can't do that, you're not going to maximize your potential and be the best player you can be in five years. That's the best advice he's given me.' ... The top four players in CSB's North American skaters rankings — Matthew Schaefer, Michael Misa, James Hagens, and Jake O'Brien — will be in Sunrise, Fla., for Monday's Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Oilers and Panthers. Abbotsford Canucks Live: Game 6 win will advance Abby to Calder Cup final

The heat is on in Abbotsford. Not only was the mercury expected to climb to 30 degrees Celsius in the Fraser Valley on Sunday, and actually feel like 34, the temperature inside the Abbotsford Centre will also rise. The Abbotsford Canucks hold a 3-2 series lead over the Texas Stars in the AHL best-of-seven Western Conference final and are a victory away from advancing to the Calder Cup championship against the Charlotte Checkers. Game 6 before a raucous sold-out Abbotsford audience goes at 6 p.m., and if a seventh game is necessary, it's slated for Monday at 7 p.m. in the valley. The Canucks obviously don't want to be forced into a do-or-die showdown in Game 7 that could end their remarkable season, or shorten rest and prep time for the AHL final. The Checkers are the Florida Panthers' affiliate and swept the Laval Rocket in the Eastern Conference final. They will host first two games of the AHL title series starting Friday in North Carolina, with the west winner getting Game 3, 4 and 5 home dates, before the series reverts back to Charlotte. As for tonight, the Canucks will look for a hero. Maybe somebody snaps a tight game in the third period, or becomes the latest overtime star. Four series games have been decided by one goal and three required overtime. Stars captain Curtis McKenzie of Golden, B.C., delivered the extra-session dagger Friday in Texas in a 2-1 triumph to force Game 6. It came after winger Danila Klimovich, who had yet to see the ice in the final series, struck in double overtime Wednesday to put the Canucks up 3-1 and on verge of a series-clinching win. You'd like to think Canucks winger Linus Karlsson is going to have a say in the Game 6 outcome. He has two goals in the series by getting to the net, has been a prime playmaker, and is tied for the post-season lead with nine goals. His 17 points are third among playoff scorers and he's second in shots with 49. Maybe Arturs Silovs stretches his post-season shutout string to six. That would be fitting to equal the AHL record established by former Canucks goaltender Mika Noronen, who backstopped the Rochester Americans to the league crown in 2000. Noronen played just four NHL games for Vancouver after being acquired at the 2006 NHL trade deadline. In his first appearance, he was bombed in a 5-0 loss to the Nashville Predators. Noronen then signed in Russia as opposed to serving as backup to workhorse Roberto Luongo. An affiliate of the parent Vancouver Canucks hasn't gone to the big AHL dance since 2015. That's when the Utica Comets, guided by head coach Travis Green, parlayed a 47-20-0-9 regular-season mark into post-season series wins over the Chicago Wolves, Oklahoma City Barons and Grand Rapids Griffins. They then fell to the Manchester Monarchs, affiliated with the Los Angeles Kings, in five games of the best-of-seven championship. Those Comets were led in post-season scoring by Cal O'Reilly with 19 points (2-17) in 23 games and Sven Baetschi, who had 15 points (8-7) in 21 outings. In the regular season, 11 players struck for double digits in goals. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom was also stellar with a 22-7-2 mark, 1.88 GAA, .934 saves percentage and five shutouts.
