Yahoo2 days ago

The Radisson Hotel Group has debuted its luxury-lifestyle Radisson Collection brand in France with Cour des Loges in Lyon.
Situated in the UNESCO-listed Vieux Lyon district, the hotel's origin dates back to the 14th century.
The renovation of Cour des Loges, led by heritage architecture company Cécile Rémond, Architecte du Patrimoine, has preserved historical structures and integrated rediscovered objects, encompassing a 17m-high glass roof in the central courtyard.
The hotel, which became part of Radisson Hotel Group in 2022, now offers 61 individually designed rooms and suites.
Radisson Hotel Group Northern & Western Europe managing director Tom Flanagan said: 'France has long been a strategic market for Radisson Hotel Group, and we are proud to introduce our Radisson Collection brand with such an extraordinary landmark.
'The opening of Cour des Loges Lyon, A Radisson Collection Hotel, is a fitting debut – bringing the brand's promise of exceptional, culturally rich hospitality to life. More than just a hotel, it is a destination where heritage, craftsmanship and curated experiences come together to define the essence of luxury-lifestyle travel.'
Catering to various guest needs, Collection Superior rooms cater to short stays, while Junior Suites are made for extended visits. Collection Premium rooms at the property offer more space.
Cour des Loges features an array of dining experiences including Les Loges, a fine dining restaurant, and Le Comptoir, a contemporary bistro.
The spa at the hotel, Pure Altitude, is set to launch soon, featuring an indoor pool, hammam and sauna.
For events, the hotel provides several unique settings, including the Jeu de Paume Salon, Petit Collège and Agapes, alongside five adaptable meeting rooms, the Great Court and two private courtyards.
La Petite Loge, set to reopen its doors soon, will also offer a renovated space for private dinners.
Cour des Loges Lyon general manager Yves Grardel said: 'Every corner whispers stories of craftsmanship, culture and cuisine – woven together through meaningful moments and heartfelt hospitality in the heart of Vieux-Lyon.
'Lyon's remarkable heritage, vibrant spirit and unrivalled art de vivre make it a destination like no other, and Cour des Loges Lyon, A Radisson Collection Hotel, is its soul – more than a hotel, it is a home steeped in history, where timeless elegance and modern comfort embrace.'
Earlier this year, the Radisson Hotel Group expanded its presence in France with a new Radisson Blu property in Montpellier, designed to accommodate the needs of both business and leisure travellers.
"Radisson Collection opens new hotel in Lyon, France" was originally created and published by Hotel Management Network, a GlobalData owned brand.

Metaplanet to Raise $5.3B, Japan's Largest Stock Warrant Deal, to Grow Bitcoin Stash

Metaplanet, the Tokyo-listed firm now positioning itself as a bitcoin BTC-focused treasury company, has launched a $5.3 billion plan to buy more BTC by issuing 555 million shares through stock acquisition rights. The deal, Metaplanet says, is the largest-ever issuance of stock warrants in Japan and the first time moving strike warrants, where the exercise price adjusts with the market, have been sold at or above current share prices in the country. The offering is part of what the company calls its '555 Million Plan,' a follow-up to its earlier '21 Million Plan,' which raised $600 million earlier this year and helped Metaplanet amass nearly 9,000 BTC. The new round aims to raise enough funds to boost its holdings to over 210,000 BTC by 2027, roughly 1% of the total bitcoin supply. Metaplanet is allocating nearly 96% of the capital raised to buying bitcoin directly, with smaller amounts earmarked for bond redemptions and income-generating strategies like selling put options. The company sees BTC as a hedge against Japan's prolonged negative interest rates and weakening yen. To reduce dilution and protect shareholders, the issuance comes with a minimum exercise price and gives the company the right to temporarily suspend conversions. Shares will be sold to EVO FUND, a Cayman-based fund that has backed Metaplanet's earlier financing deals. Metaplanet's shares have risen more than 275% so far this year as the firm follows through with its BTC accumulation plan. They closed down 1.6% in Friday's trading in to access your portfolio

Manchester United expects annual core profit to return to pre-COVID levels

By Yadarisa Shabong (Reuters) -Manchester United raised their annual core profit forecast on Friday to levels last seen before the pandemic as the club's strong performance in the Europa League drove ticket sales and broadcast revenue. Ticket sales jumped more than 50% to 44.5 million pounds in the three months to March as the club had a good run in the Europa League, before losing the finals to Tottenham Hotspur. United's New York-listed shares rose 4.4% in U.S. premarket trading. The club's annual core profit, which excludes player trading and finance cost, is expected to jump 21% to 28% to a range of 180 million to 190 million pounds for the year ending June. United had their worst Premier League season since they were relegated in 1974 and hopes of participating in a European competition next season were dashed after they lost the Europa League final. "We had a difficult season in the Premier League, which we all know fell below our standards and we have a clear expectation of improvement next season," CEO Omar Berrada said in a statement. United's absence from European competitions, which are lucrative sources of broadcasting revenue, deals a huge blow to the club's future finances and has drawn anger and disappointment from fans. Jim Ratcliffe, who holds a stake of about 29% in the club and runs their football operations, has taken steps to revive the club's fortunes, including by cutting jobs, raising ticket prices and stopping free lunches at staff canteens. United reported a net loss of 2.7 million pounds for the three months ended March 31, smaller than the 71.5 million pounds it posted a year earlier. The Glazer family, who own a majority of the club, have faced strong criticism from fans for saddling the club with debt, overspending on players and putting off investments on infrastructure. Manager Ruben Amorim said in May that the club did not need a big squad since they were not playing in the Champions League. In March this year, United announced plans to build a new 2-billion-pound 100,000-seat stadium, next to the existing Old Trafford. ($1 = 0.7383 pounds) Sign in to access your portfolio

De Beers draws interest from billionaire Agarwal, Qatari funds, sources say

By Clara Denina LONDON (Reuters) -Diamond giant De Beers has drawn interest from at least six consortia, including billionaire Anil Agarwal, Indian diamond firms and Qatari investment funds, sources close to the companies told Reuters. De Beers is being carved out of Anglo American as the London-listed miner refocuses on copper and iron ore but the move comes with global diamond prices under pressure. Agarwal, chairman of Vedanta Resources, which has mines in Zambia and South Africa, is among the interested parties, as part of a bigger group, two sources said. Anglo and Agarwal both declined to companies including KGK Group and Kapu Gems, which dominate the domestic cutting and polishing trade, and are De Beers's biggest customers, have also expressed an interest, two sources with knowledge of the matter said. KGK Group and Kapu Gems did not respond to requests for comment. Anglo American, whose book value for De Beers stands at $4.9 billion, following $3.5 billion in impairments over the last two years, said it has retained financial advisers Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Centerview to help with a sale or a demerger and potential listing.
