Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos expressed confidence ahead of Saturday's Champions League final against Inter Milan in Munich, believing his team will handle the pressure and finally secure their first Champions League trophy.
The Brazilian defender, along with coach Luis Enrique and forward Ousmane Dembele, shared their thoughts on the eve of this historic finale.
PSG will play their second Champions League final, five years after losing to Bayern Munich in Lisbon in 2020. Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe are the only remaining players from the squad that took to the pitch in the final.

"The club has learnt as time has gone on about how to deal with games like these, what it needs to do.
A lot of things have changed at PSG since I arrived. There have been great times, difficult times, but tomorrow we have a glorious opportunity to do something remarkable and historic for this club. It will be my second final and I don't want to let the opportunity pass us by," Marquinhos told reporters.
Marquinhos, now 31, has been with PSG since 2013 and has experienced both triumphs and setbacks, including the memorable 2017 collapse against Barcelona where they won 4-0 at home but lost 6-1 in the return leg.

Sai Sudharsan: 'County stints reminded me that basics are most important part of batting'
"We have a coach who is exceptional and has prepared us really well. Even if we are a very young team you can see how ready we are for these games. I think there is a whole mix of things which have come together to bring us here in the best condition possible -- the club has grown, the incredible coach we have, the quality players who have come in. I think that is why we are here today," Marquinhos added.
Despite losing Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid, PSG has achieved a domestic league and cup double this season.
They reached the final by eliminating three Premier League teams: Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal.
"Now is the time to get the trophy and bring it home," stated Marquinhos.
Ousmane Dembele, who has transformed from a winger to a striker with 33 goals this season, shared his thoughts on the final. "I am really proud to be here in the final. We have worked so hard. It wasn't easy at the start of the campaign but we have changed the dynamic in the second half of the season and it is exceptional to be here in Munich for the final.
We feel lots of joy even though we are going to take the game very seriously.
"
Coach Luis Enrique, who won the Champions League with Barcelona ten years ago, also faces an Italian team in Germany, just as he did when Barcelona defeated Juventus in Berlin.
Poll
Will PSG secure their first Champions League trophy this Saturday?
Yes, they will win!
No, they will lose.
"Now I have 10 years more experience and I will just try to transmit to the players how great an opportunity it is for us to play a Champions League final. We have the opportunity to make history, to do something nobody else has ever done for this club before, but at the same time we also have to manage our emotions so they don't become too much for us.
I think we are prepared, Inter too no doubt, so I think it will be a really great final and of course the aim is to win it," Luis Enrique said.
PSG's journey to the final hasn't been smooth, having faced elimination threat during the group stage after a 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich in November, where Dembele was sent off. However, their remarkable recovery in the second half of the season has brought them to the verge of Champions League glory.

Watch: Magnus Carlsen bangs fist on board after loss to D Gukesh at Norway Chess, leaves in a huff
D Gukesh achieved a stunning victory over Magnus Carlsen in Round 6 of Norway Chess, marking his first classical win against the former World No. 1. Carlsen faltered in the endgame, allowing Gukesh to capitalise despite acknowledging his losing position. This win propelled Gukesh to third place in the standings, intensifying the competition as the tournament nears its conclusion. World Champion D Gukesh secured a remarkable victory against former World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in Round 6 of Norway Chess, recovering from a losing position on Sunday, marking his first classical win over the Norwegian GM and becoming the second Indian player after R Praggnanandhaa to defeat Carlsen in this competition. Carlsen maintained control throughout most of the match, but faltered in the closing stages, allowing the 19-year-old Gukesh to capitalise and claim the win. After committing the blunder, Carlsen banged his fist on the board in frustration, shook hands in a hurry before leaving the room in visible frustration. Gukesh, left equally gobsmacked with the late turnaround, held his head in his hands. Later, Gukesh admitted he was shaking after the game and acknowledged, "I don't know what happened." Despite looking like Carlsen was headed towards a second win over Gukesh in the tournament, the Indian kept prolonging the game to survive. "There wasn't much I could do. It was just clearly lost... luckily he got into a time scramble," he said. "99 out of 100 times I would lose," but it was "just a lucky day," he added. Gukesh further said, "I mean, [it was] not the way I wanted it to be, but okay, I'll take it." Former player and now commentator Susan Polger posted on X, "Carlsen outplayed Gukesh, made massive blunder to lose a winning game! This is the biggest shock of the year! Carlsen rarely loses in classical chess, and he rarely commits big blunders. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trading CFD dengan Teknologi dan Kecepatan Lebih Baik IC Markets Mendaftar Undo He was playing so well with the black pieces in round 6 in Norway against Gukesh. He had a winning position with more time on the clock. But Gukesh did not give up. He continued to fight and Carlsen's advantage slowly disappeared. Then when both were in time pressure, he made a huge blunder which cost him the game. T his has to be one of the most painful losses in his spectacular career. I am sure he is very angry with himself." The victory propelled Gukesh to third place in the tournament standings with 8.5 points, positioning him just one point behind leaders Carlsen and American Fabiano Caruana. Gukesh's coach, Grandmaster Vishnu Prasanna, reflected on the victory: "We have to give a lot of credit to Gukesh for his stubbornness and for his resourcefulness because I think he was aware that he was dead lost for so long, yet he kept kicking, he kept kicking, and the time went lower, the more chances he had to actually do something with the position. I don't think his intention was to win that, but yeah, I'm sure he is happy. " Exclusive | Arjuna Awardee Vantika Agrawal: 'People still ask, 'Chess is fine, but what do you really do?'' D Gukesh stunned Magnus Carlsen in Round 6 of the Norway Chess tournament. The unexpected victory has intensified the competition as the tournament approaches its final rounds, with the battle for the top position becoming increasingly competitive.

IPL final lap sends airfares flying high as Kolkata-Ahmedabad sector sees over 2-fold surge
KOLKATA: Cricket fever has gripped Kolkata once again - even without the home team in the race - as hundreds of die-hard fans prepare to fly to Ahmedabad for the final leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. This has led to a more than two-fold surge in airfares between Kolkata and Ahmedabad. The second qualifier on Sunday and the grand finale on Tuesday at the 1.3-lakh capacity Narendra Modi Stadium have led to a staggering 150% increase in airfares between Kolkata and Ahmedabad. Typically, a round-trip flight between the two cities costs around Rs 12,000-Rs 13,000. However, with only five daily non-stop services available, ticket prices for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday have soared beyond Rs 30,000. Several travel portals reported that most economy seats were sold out, with only premium fares remaining. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), led by crowd favourite Virat Kohli, secured their place in the final and a thrilling qualifier between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians was on till late on Sunday night. Despite the early exit of the Kolkata Knight Riders this season, the passion among the city's cricket lovers remains undeterred. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esse novo alarme com câmera é quase gratuito em Rio De Janeiro (consulte o preço) Alarmes Undo Hundreds are on their way to Ahmedabad for the final match, spiking the demand for flight tickets. "I have always been a crazy IPL fan. I watch every match at Eden Gardens and was absolutely sure to watch the final no matter which team was playing. But it was sad that the final was shifted out of Kolkata. Even then, with Virat Kohli and RCB in the final, I am planning to head to Ahmedabad for the match, stay there for a couple of days for a short vacation, and come back when the return fare cools down a bit," said Sonal Kapoor, a 27-year-old market research professional and a Park Street resident. Even hotel tariffs have seen a ripple effect. A travel agent in Kolkata confirmed that rates in both Ahmedabad and Mumbai have jumped since the schedule changes. "Hotel tariffs have gone up by more than 10%," said a travel agent. Travel-related searches to Ahmedabad also increased by 40%. City IPL fans were left devastated after the IPL final and qualifier 2, which were scheduled to be held at the Eden Gardens, were moved out of the stadium fearing rain playing spoilsport. It also created a political furore, with a section of BJP leaders claiming the match was shifted citing security issues, while TMC leadership claimed BJP's high-handedness to hold all important cricket matches at the stadium named after the prime minister. Since KKR won the title last year, Eden Gardens was announced as the host of the grand finale and second qualifier, and it was expected to witness a packed house for the marquee clash. With fear of monsoon hitting the area in June, the association reportedly even submitted IMD data to the BCCI, asserting that conditions in Kolkata would remain favourable for hosting the matches, but the BCCI decided otherwise. "I have supported RCB for years and seeing Virat Kohli live in a final is a dream," said Subhajit Banerjee, a young musician. "I will watch Sunday's qualifier and then take a final call on booking flight tickets to Ahmedabad for the once-in-a-lifetime experience and hope Virat Kohli gets to lift the trophy finally."

Cricketer Rinku Singh to wed Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj in Kashi on November 18
VARANASI: Following his ring ceremony with Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj on June 8 in Lucknow, cricketer Rinku Singh will tie the nuptial knot with her in Kashi on November 18. Speaking to TOI on Sunday, Priya's father and SP MLA from Kerakat in Jaunpur, Tufani Saroj, confirmed the dates. He mentioned that the engagement ceremony of Priya Saroj will take place on June 8 in Lucknow. Her marriage with cricketer Rinku Singh will be solemnised at a ceremony slated for November 18 at Hotel Taj in Varanasi, he added. With the finalisation of these dates, the family has geared up preparations to host grand ceremonies. Apart from prominent figures from the political fraternity, especially from SP, many cricket stars, film industry personalities, and industrialists are also expected to attend the events. In January, Tufani Saroj announced that his daughter Priya would soon marry T20 champion cricketer Rinku Singh after the families of the bride and groom held initial rounds of meetings to fix their matrimonial alliance. Like Rinku, who created a sensation by hitting five sixes in the final over of a match against Gujarat Titans to successfully chase down 29 runs—the highestever chase in the last over in the IPL tournament's history—for his team Kolkata Knight Riders in April 2023, Priya's entry into poll politics was equally sensational. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Especialista: truque simples antes de dormir suaviza o bigode chinês Notícias | Beleza | Mulher Saiba Mais Undo Rinku and Priya met through friend's father She reached the Lok Sabha at 25, as one of the youngest parliamentarians, by winning the 2024 LS poll from the Machhlishahr (reserved) seat, which was represented by her father thrice before he decided to contest from the Kerakat assembly seat (reserved) in 2022. Rinku and Priya got acquainted through one of her friend's father, who is also a cricketer. Tufani Saroj, while returning from Aligarh in January following an initial round of discussions with Rinku's family, mentioned that they knew each other for some time, and both had announced that they would marry with the consent of their families. As Rinku was focusing on the T20 series with England and IPL, and Priya had her political engagements, both families decided that the finalisation of dates and events would be done when the duo sat together.
