Over 100 designer handbags stolen in burglary in Alderley Edge, Cheshire
More than 100 designer handbags have been stolen in a burglary at a home in Cheshire, police have said.
The victim is offering a £10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and a conviction, according to Cheshire Constabulary.
The stolen bags, which include bespoke ones made by the luxury brand Hermes, were taken from a property in Alderley Edge - a village home to several Premier League footballers and known for featuring in reality TV programme The Real Housewives of Cheshire.
Police were called to the property on Macclesfield Road on Monday - but detectives believe the incident took place a week earlier.
The force said rare and one-of-a-kind handbags were among the items taken.
"On Monday 17 February between 7pm and 11pm, unknown offenders gained access to the side of the property using a ladder and entered through a skylight," a police spokesperson said.
"The offenders are believed to have left the property along Macclesfield Road."
Jewellery and a gold watch were also taken, the force added.
The £10,000 reward is being offered through the unnamed victim's insurance company.
Police are also appealing for information and witnesses following the raid.
Detective Sergeant Laura Fox said in a statement: "Our enquiries are ongoing, and we would urge anyone who witnessed this incident or saw anything suspicious to get in touch with us.
"The same goes for anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV which might aid our investigation.
"We also want to hear from anyone who thinks they may have information regarding the whereabouts of the items that were stolen."

Police have released images of the balaclava-clad suspects allegedly behind the theft of handbags worth £260,000. A trio of burglars took 55 luxury handbags from a boutique in the exclusive Cheshire village of Prestbury on Sunday night. The ski mask-wearing intruders broke in from a disused property next door, drilling through the shop's chimney to gain access. They then made a getaway with the high-end handbags, worth as much as £25,000 each. Cheshire Constabulary released CCTV images of the suspected burglars on Wednesday in an appeal for members of the public to identify them. Det Con Clare Slattery, of Macclesfield CID, said: 'Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing and we're committed to doing all we can to identify the people responsible. 'As part of our investigation we're keen to identify the men pictured in the CCTV images as we believe they may hold vital information. 'If you recognise the men, please contact us. I would also like to appeal directly to the men in the CCTV images to get in touch.' Christine Colbert, the owner of the boutique, watched the burglary live on CCTV from her home. 'I went to bed about 10.30pm on Sunday so I was asleep when we got a call from the monitoring company,' Mrs Colbert told the Daily Mail. 'I immediately switched on the CCTV on my phone and I could see a man crouching down and bricks all over the floor. I said to my husband Gary, 'We're being robbed.' I was panicking.' Mrs Colbert said that watching the footage back, she could hear the noise of drilling for more than an hour before the raiders broke through. She added added: 'They were big burly men, and they were all in black with goggles, balaclavas, and gloves. They took three or four minutes to whirl round the shop and grab all the bags. 'One man had a duvet tied round his neck like a pouch which he threw the bags in. Another man put everything up his arms – they were full of bags. 'Then they hurled the handbags through the hole they'd made. Respect for the bags was zero.' The gang dropped just two of the bags, which were among the least valuable. The next-door building was empty following an arson attack. Items worth £180,000 were stolen from Mrs Colbert's shop last year after burglars entered through a window.

A former Premier League player and FA Cup winner is facing up to 13 years in prison after being accused of smuggling £48 worth of cocaine. Former Wigan defender Ronnie Stam also faces the prospect of being fined up to £1.5m after he allegedly trafficked two tonnes of drugs. The 40-year-old in on trial in Breda alongside his brother Rudi, accused of smuggling cocaine from South America to the Netherlands. The public prosecutor has suggested Stam be sent to prison until 2038 and pay the £1.5m fine, while his brother Rudi could be imprisoned for six years with the same fine. The ex-Wigan player has been in custody for a year since he was first arrested over the allegations. The trial continues as the Stam brothers await a verdict, expected in August. The younger Stam signed for Wigan for £2m in 2010 after winning the Eredivisie with FC Twente. The right-back went on to play 62 times in the Premier League for Wigan and won the FA Cup with them in 2013, although he did not play in the final.
