'Lilo & Stitch' tops North American box office with $63M

June 1 (UPI) -- Lilo & Stitch is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning an additional $63 million in receipts this weekend, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.
It raked in $145.5 million the previous weekend when it first opened.
Coming in at No. 2 this Friday through Sunday is Mission: Impossible -- The Final Reckoning with $27.3 million, followed by Karate Kid: Legends at No. 3 with $21 million, Final Destination: Bloodlines at No. 4 with $10.8 million and Bring Her Back at No. 5 with $7.1 million.
Rounding out the top tier are Sinners at No. 6 with $5.2 million, Thunderbolts at No. 7 with $4.8 million, Friendship at No. 8 with $2.6 million, The Last Rodeo at No. 9 with $2.1 million and j-hope Tour Hope on the Stage in Japan at No. 10 with $940,000.

iHeartRadio Music Festival 2025: Ed Sheeran, Tate McRae, Mariah Carey to Perform
iHeartRadio Music Festival will return to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sept. 19 and 20 with performances from Ed Sheeran, Tate McRae, Mariah Carey, Lil Wayne, Jelly Roll, and more. The singer-songwriter has a number of live performances scheduled across Europe this summer, but iHeartRadio Music Festival is his only upcoming U.S. appearance at the moment. McRae's appearance will intersect with the North American leg of her Miss Possessive Tour, which touches down in North American in August in support of her latest studio album So Close to What. Meanwhile, Mariah Carey completed her latest Las Vegas residency last year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Emancipation of Mimi. She recently began teasing her 16th studio album. Lil Wayne will have plenty of new material to perform during his set. The rapper will release Tha Carter VI on Friday, June 6, accompanied by his first headlining appearance at Madison Square Garden. He also has performances scheduled for Memphis and Oklahoma City in September. 'Outlander's Sam Heughan to star in 'Macbeth' stage production

File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo June 3 (UPI) -- Outlander actor Sam Heughan will make his Royal Shakespeare Company debut in Macbeth opposite The Crown actress Lia Williams. Heughan, 45, described his upcoming role as a "full circle" moment on Instagram Tuesday. "At age 18, standing on the main stage of the Royal Lyceum Edinburgh, playing 'spear-carrier number 2,' (essentially a glorified extra) in a production of Macbeth, I could only dream of one day playing the infamous title character," he said. "It feels full circle to be returning to the stage, after over a decade working primarily in television and film." He portrayed Jamie Fraser opposite Caitriona Balfe on Outlander for over a decade. The show premiered on Starz in 2014. Heughan told Deadline that after wrapping the show's finale, he was on the lookout for an exciting role. "I've been doing Outlander for 11 years, and obviously it was brilliant, but I wanted something else. And I went to the RSC to see Edward II there, and I just felt that buzz. I sat in the auditorium and I felt that excitement, sort of the churn in my stomach as the lights went down and I was like, 'Yeah, this is the drug I'm looking for,'" he said. "And it's terrifying. And I think that's a good thing to be scared again." Performances begin Oct. 9 at Stratford-upon-Avon's The Other Place, and wind down Dec. 6. "Not only is Macbeth my favorite Shakespeare play: intense, immediate and unsettling, it also happens to be famously Scottish. The RSC has always been at the pinnacle of my ambition and I feel deeply honored and thankful to be working alongside some enormously talented and creative people," he said on Instagram.
