If you haven't already made them, dinner reservations this Friday will be a hassle.
Instead, consider staying in on Valentine's Day and cooking a meal together.
State of play: Many of Minnesota's top chefs have shared recipes with cooking sites and local outlets over the years.
We rounded up some yummy-sounding options from a few of the restaurateurs recently named semifinalists for this year's James Beard Awards.
🌶️ Ann Ahmed (Khâluna, Lat14, Gai Noi): Bucatini Talay, or pasta tossed in tom yum paste-laced sauce and topped with jumbo shrimp, via Food & Wine.
Twin Cities Public Television also has her recipe for Laotian sticky rice.
🥩 Karyn Tomlinson (Myriel): Grandma's pot roast with onions, garlic, mushrooms, thyme, carrots and potatoes, via TPT.
🥣 Mateo Mackbee (Krewe): Maque choux, a creamy sweet corn-based dish flavored with onions and peppers and topped with andouille sausage or shrimp, via MidwestLiving.
The Star Tribune also has Mackbee's red beans and rice recipe with a special twist: a smoked turkey leg.
🍠 Sean Sherman (Owamni): Maple-chili crisp to drizzle over roasted sweet potatoes via Food & Wine.
🍫 Diane Moua (Diane's Place): Frozen Meyer Lemon parfait with pistachio brittle via Artful Living.

'What a great pain Patricia!' anchor Elyangelica Gonzalez wrote. 'May God receive you in his holy glory, give strength to your family and comfort your beloved children. The sky today is much prettier with your arrival.' Astrid Rivera echoed that sentiment, calling the news 'painful.' 'Good colleague, tremendous journalist, and excellent woman and mother,' she continued. 'Rest in Peace beautiful. We will miss you as a team work and the world will miss a beautiful woman like you.' Angie Perez commented: 'Beautiful friend 😢 Rest in the peace of the Lord that passes all understanding 🙏🏻 I pray for your children and your husband: that it is Christ filling that void in their hearts that leaves your departure. Our friend and colleague Patricia Fuenmayor passed away early this morning after a tough battle with cancer.' "A passionate, professional woman, always dedicated to her reporting,' he concluded. The Kapalua Wine & Food Festival is back
The 44th annual Kapalua Wine & Food Festival is happening July 10-13 at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua. The festival features top vintners and chefs from Hawaii and around the world as well as an array of events, from wine tasting seminars to winemaker dinners. On July 11, guests may attend a wine tasting seminar with pinot noir specialists and a celebrity chef multi-course lunch and cooking demonstration with chef Rick Moonen, who's known as the "Godfather of Sustainable Seafood." In the evening, there's the signature winemaker and celebrity chef six-course dinner crafted by celebrity chefs Rick Moonen, Maneet Chauhan, Zach Laidlaw and Ritz-Carlton Maui's chefs. Wineries featured at the dinner include Maggy Hawk, Freemark Abbey, Brewer-Clifton and The Vineyard House. On July 12, the morning begins with an interactive wine tasting seminar with a regional focus on California's Santa Barbara County and continues with a wine tasting seminar on Napa Valley. The evening's event is the highly anticipated grand tasting gala, with plenty of food and wines to savor. The event closes on July 13 with a final tasting of Champagnes and caviars; and a cooking demonstration with celebrity chef Maneet Chauhan, two-time winner of the Food Network's "Tournament of Champions" televised cooking competition. Tickets at varying prices may be purchased per event. Festival passes, priced at $1,250 per person, include all seminars, two celebrity chef cooking demos, the grand tasting gala and inclusion to the VIP winemakers reception on July 10.
