Operation Sindoor: Rafales, Sukhois Shot Down Pakistan's JF-17s, Mirages In Dogfight; India Set To Reveal Smoking Gun Evidence
New Delhi: Clouds parted. Secrets spilled. Under the cloak of night, the Indian Air Force launched a mission that would rattle Islamabad to its core. It was Operation Sindoor, a storm that tore through terror camps and left Pakistani war machines in flames. On the intervening night of May 6 and 7, the air throbbed with tension. Rafale and Sukhoi jets soared out of Indian bases. Precision. Power. Payloads locked. Targets across the border marked in red – terror launchpads nestled in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Airstrikes hit like thunderclaps. Explosions followed. Camp after camp, bunker after bunker flattened. Over 100 terrorists eliminated in minutes. The April 22 Pahalgam's bloodshed avenged. But the night did not end there. Pakistan scrambled its jets. JF-17s. Mirages. J-10Cs. Interceptors on a collision course. The dogfight was brutal. Aerial combat at lightning speed. Engines screamed. Missiles launched. Skies lit up. And then silence. Flames fell from the heavens. Pakistan's jets crashed and burned. Sources inside India's top defence establishment confirm that enemy aircraft shot down mid-air. India watched. Recorded. Tracked every move with AWACS and ground-based radar. The wreckage? Scattered across the rugged terrain of PoK. And India has the evidence. High-resolution satellite images. Infrared signatures. Radio logs. Visual confirmation from cockpit feeds. Soon, the truth will go public. Pakistan panicked. Cross-border firing intensified. Ceasefire torn to shreds. India retaliated with full force. Missiles rained down on major Pakistani airbases. Noor Khan. Rafiqui. Sukkur. Chunian. Rahim Yar Khan – once considered strategic strongholds. Now smoking craters. One hit after another. Pakistan's Chinese-made HQ-9 air defense systems shredded. Its backbone was broken. Operation Sindoor was a verdict – justice delivered at supersonic speed.

Government strengthening IT cells to counter terrorist propaganda on social media: Union Home Secretary
The government is strengthening Information Technology (IT) cells and cybersurveillance to counter terrorist propaganda being spread on social media, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan said on Wednesday. He said terrorists were using social media and advanced drone technology 'not just for surveillance and espionage, but also to carry out pinpointed and focused attacks.' He said, 'Some countries and some communities associate actions in the name of terrorism with either identity or with faith,' and in doing so, they tarnish the very idea of humanity and the 'problem needs to be eradicated from its roots.' The official said the government had finalised a 25-point integrated plan to curb the financial sources of terrorism, which included 'jihadi terrorism, insurgency in the northeast, fake currency and narcotics' and police and other investigating agencies were encouraged to 'not hesitate to use strict provisions under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA)' in all cases where it was necessary. He said 40 groups had been proscribed as terror organisations by India. While delivering the valedictory address at the 23rd National Security Guard's (NSG) Counter-Terror International Seminar, which was attended by 50 foreign delegates, Mr. Mohan said 'spontaneous war on the cyber front' is an important part of the government's strategy to counter terrorism where social media is used 'to radicalise youth whose minds are still shaping' and to spread disinformation and misinformation. Also Read | Operation Sindoor: Pakistan has unleashed a disinformation offensive, says govt 'Terrorist groups are leveraging social media and online propaganda, not only to mobilise their sympathisers, but also to mislead and influence youth who are radicalised or who do not have the full perspective of this entire game that is being played on them. Increasingly, encrypted devices are being used, different kinds of Apps are being used to conceal their identities. Even in the radar of our security agencies, this makes it much harder for us to track their conversations or intercept their plans, and it also makes the task of pre-empting their actions significantly challenging.' He called for global cooperation, sharing technological solutions and public awareness to end the menace of terrorism. He said Naxalism was now confined to 20 districts against 200 districts few years ago. 'We have to go beyond conventional methods and prepare comprehensive and forward-looking strategies as the only objective of terrorism is to spread violence and fear,' the Home Secretary said. He added that Pahalgam terrorist attack was one of the most horrific incidents that India had faced and any assault on its peace or sovereignty would not be tolerated. 'Whoever attempts such an act has to pay the price. And this is precisely what Operation Sindoor was ....precise military strikes on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. We successfully destroyed the main operational bases of terrorist organisations. This stands as a testament to our military skill, to our professional strength, not only of armed forces, but also of our border guarding forces,' Mr. Mohan said.

5 Injured After Mob Clashes With Cops Near Kolkata, BJP Seeks Central Forces
Kolkata: Tension simmered in the Rabindranagar area near Kolkata on Wednesday as a violent clash between two groups spiralled into widespread unrest, leaving several police personnel injured and multiple vehicles vandalised, prompting heavy reinforcements and political fallout. Police said five people were injured in the clash while four were arrested. The opposition BJP demanded deployment of central forces in the trouble-torn area, while the ruling TMC accused the saffron camp of politicising a local issue. The violence, which erupted over the setting up of a shop in Maheshtala under Rabindranagar Police Station in South 24 Parganas district, quickly escalated, turning the area into a virtual battlefield. "Bricks were hurled from rooftops, tyres were set ablaze on the roads, and miscreants torched a motorbike in front of the police station. Several police vehicles were damaged, and at least one police personnel was left bleeding after being hit by a brick," a police officer told reporters. Eyewitnesses said chaos unfolded right outside the police station as protesters threw stones, leaving officers, including a woman constable, injured. Reinforcements from Kolkata and the Rapid Action Force (RAF) were rushed to the scene, and tear gas shells were fired to disperse the mob. The unrest, which reportedly began on Tuesday over a dispute involving a shop, took a dangerous turn on Wednesday. Several police vehicles were ransacked, windows shattered, and the police appeared momentarily overwhelmed by the mob fury. As the situation deteriorated, authorities imposed preventive measures under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and launched a crackdown to nab the rioters. The Section empowers a District Magistrate or designated Executive Magistrate to issue urgent preventive orders to avert public nuisance or threats to public peace and safety. "Raids are presently underway, and additional personnel remain deployed. Several arrests were made," another police officer said. The West Bengal police later said normalcy had been restored, though the area continued to remain tense. The incident sparked a strong political backlash with Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari staging a protest outside the West Bengal Police headquarters in Alipore, demanding the immediate deployment of central forces in the troubled area. "The Hindu community in Rabindranagar has been subjected to looting, arson, and violence for hours while the police watched silently. Several police vehicles were set on fire, yet there was no effective intervention," Adhikari alleged. He also claimed that DGP Rajiv Kumar refused to meet him. "Despite such grave attacks on police, the top brass seems indifferent. I will move Calcutta High Court tomorrow seeking urgent intervention and central forces, as ordered earlier during communal tension in Murshidabad," the BJP leader said. Adhikari was accompanied by several BJP MLAs, including the party's chief whip Shankar Ghosh, and a group of sadhus. "Monks have received desperate calls from residents in the area seeking protection. This is a complete breakdown of governance," he said. Echoing Adhikari's demands, BJP state president and Union minister Sukanta Majumdar alleged that the administration had failed to take preventive action. "Despite knowing the culprits, the police acted against the victims instead of the aggressors," he alleged, accusing the state government of communal appeasement. Both leaders also urged Governor C V Ananda Bose to intervene, alleging the incident reflected systemic administrative failure. "The governor must step in to ensure constitutional order is upheld and justice is delivered to the affected Hindu community," Majumdar said, adding that places of worship in the area must be restored. The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), however, rejected the allegations, saying the opposition was attempting to politicise a "local issue". "All necessary steps have been taken to control the situation. The police acted swiftly and with firmness. The BJP is trying to give a communal colour to what was essentially a dispute over setting up a shop," said TMC spokesperson and state general secretary Kunal Ghosh. Condemning the violence, Kolkata Mayor and senior TMC leader Firhad Hakim said, "We wish a speedy recovery to the injured police personnel. At the same time, we strongly condemn the BJP's attempt to communalise and politicise a sensitive issue." He alleged that the BJP's tactics were aimed at "disturbing the peace and harmony of Bengal" and urged all sides to act with restraint. The police continue to maintain a heavy presence in the area as investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the miscreants involved in the violence.
