Spring Nittany Antique Machinery show kicks off in Centre County
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Spring Nittany Antique Machinery Association Show in Centre County looks to provide family fun and showcase antique agricultural equipment. The three-day show takes place at Penns Cave along Route 192 in Centre County. Throughout the weekend, there is plenty to see, do, and explore. This includes a flea market, steam tractors, farm tractors, demonstrations, tractor pulls, homemade ice cream, bean soup, roasted peanuts, a consignment sale, and more. 'Lots of stuff to take place with the antique equipment, kind of shows how important this is, how it was done by our previous ancestors,' Past President of Nittany Antique Machinery Association, Preston Weaver said. Weaver said keeping the annual show tradition alive is important for the whole area, and it's not easy putting everything together. 'We have a good group of members who stand behind us, making decisions and changes. But most importantly, you know what it takes to put the show on, it takes a small village,' Weaver said. The event runs from May 30 to June 1. Admission is $5 on Friday and Saturday, and free on Sunday. Anyone ages 11 and under gets in for free. For a full list of events, visit the link here. Palm Coast man hiding in attic crashes through ceiling in K-9 closes in
A wanted man literally dropped in on a group of Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies Monday, May 26: He crashed through the ceiling of a home. Deputies were searching a house when they discovered the man hiding in the attic. As a K-9 climbed into the attic, the man took a wrong step and crashed through the ceiling, leaving a ragged hole. "Hey, you should've just come out, man — that would have been easier," a deputy told the man as he was led away in handcuffs. And it would have saved the cost of repairing the ceiling. Tarod Lovell Weaver, 37, was charged with obstruction without violence and false name/ID given to a law enforcement officer, according to a charging affidavit. He was released on $2,000 bond. On Monday, deputies went to the duplex on Pine Haven Drive with an out-of-county warrant for Weaver. A woman at the door asked why they wanted to talk to her son, according to a charging affidavit. She closed the front door, saying she would get him. Shortly after, deputies found a man with the woman at the rear of the residence. The man gave them a name, but deputies later discovered it was a false identity. Deputies surrounded the house to prevent Weaver from fleeing. Subsequently, the woman and a couple of others walked out the front door. They all claimed not to know where Weaver was, the affidavit stated. The woman consented to deputies searching the house. During the search, deputies found Weaver hiding in the attic, the affidavit stated, and sent a K-9 up to into the attic. "Let me see your hands (and) you won't get bit," a deputy said. Another warns Weaver that the dog is about to drag him out of the attic. But before the dog reached Weaver, he stepped in the wrong spot, according to a body camera video. Weaver then crashed through the ceiling to the floor of the porch, the affidavit stated. A jagged hole was left in the ceiling. A woman, apparently a resident, asked "Who's going to fix that?" Said a deputy: "Not us." This article originally appeared on The Daytona Beach News-Journal: Palm Coast man falls through ceiling as sheriff's K-9 nears

Teen illegal immigrant who killed woman in Colorado crash gets probation, then is arrested by ICE with family
An illegal immigrant teenager who was spared jail time after he was convicted of killing a Colorado woman in a high-speed crash has been arrested, along with his family, by immigration authorities. The 16-year-old from Colombia was sentenced to probation and community service for the July 2024 death of Kaitlyn Weaver, 24, in Aurora after striking a plea deal with prosecutors. The teen, who has not been publicly named because of state laws that shield the identity of underage criminal suspects, was arrested May 20 along with his family, who were also living in the United States illegally, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said. ICE CAPTURES ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT WANTED FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING MOTHER IN DUI CRASH "The minor was convicted in Colorado's 18th Judicial District and was sentenced to probation and community service," an ICE spokesperson told Fox News. "As part of its routine operations, ICE arrests aliens who commit crimes and other individuals who have violated our nation's immigration laws. All aliens in violation of U.S. immigration law may be subject to arrest, detention and, if found removable by final order, removal from the United States, regardless of nationality." The teen will remain in ICE custody pending an immigration hearing, the agency said. He was in a Jeep with other minors racing in a residential neighborhood at speeds of up to 90 mph, authorities said. Weaver was kept on life support for two days before she was taken off after her organs were donated. Her father, John Weaver, told Fox News Digital that he was told by U.S. Rep. Gabe Evans, R-Colo., that ICE would be taking action against the teen. "I appreciate ICE taking enforcement action, and I really appreciate the outpouring of support from everyone," Weaver said Thursday. The teen was arrested and initially charged with vehicular homicide. At the time, the Weavers were told by the Arapahoe County District Attorney's office that the case was a "no plea offer" case, John Weaver said. They then offered the teen a plea deal if he admitted his guilt. At the time, the Weaver family attorney, Matthew Durkin, called the deal "abhorrent," in an interview with Fox News Digital, noting that Weaver was killed during the prime of her life. John Weaver noted at the time that the teen was in the U.S. illegally and unlicensed. "We had a collision where the immigration system and the criminal justice system collided, and now my daughter's dead," he said.
