
Transamerica Life Bermuda launches in DIFC to boost global expansion
UAE - Transamerica Life Bermuda, the global high-net-worth (HNW) life insurer, is set to launch business in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), according to a press release.
The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has granted Transamerica Life Bermuda a license to start operating in the DIFC.
Adnan Ladki has been appointed as Head of DIFC for Transamerica Life Bermuda. He will work closely with the leadership team to achieve the companies' goals for the region.
Kristine Ung, CEO at Transamerica Life Bermuda, stated: 'Our entry into DIFC marks a significant milestone in our global growth strategy. Securing this license will allow us to support our distribution partners in the Middle East, which is becoming a vital international financial and wealth management hub.'
Salmaan Jaffery, Chief Business Development Officer at DIFC Authority, commented: 'Our progressive and pioneering laws and regulations continue to attract leading industry names to DIFC, which includes more than 125 insurance related entities.'
Having been operating for 180 years through Aegon and Transamerica, Transamerica Life Bermuda brings significant experience in large sums assured and managing complex customer scenarios to the Middle East.
DIFC is home to major insurance brokers, five of whom are among the top ranked entities by AM Best.
The center unveiled record-breaking growth in 2024 with a total of 6,920 active companies, with strong financial performance.

Dubai airport offers parking fee discount for peak summer travel period
In a relief to travellers this peak season, Dubai International Airport announced discounted parking prices for summer on June 10. These new prices will be levied from June 10 to 30 and will be valid at Terminal 1 Car Park B, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. To park your car for three days, the airport will charge Dh100. For seven days, the fee will be a total of Dh200. Meanwhile, those wishing to park their cars for two weeks — 14 days — they will be required to pay a fee of only Dh300. Dubai Metro Blue Line's Emaar Properties and five other record-breaking train stations around the world
When it opens in 2029, Dubai Metro Blue Line 's first station will become the highest metro station in the world at 74 metres. To be called Emaar Properties and located in the Dubai Creek Harbour area, the station will be an 'architectural icon', said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, who laid the foundation stone on Monday. The Blue Line will add 30km to the Dubai Metro network, and is set to have 14 stations, to be constructed at a cost of Dh18 billion ($4.9 billion). Once completed it will turn the Dubai Metro into a 131km network encompassing 78 stations. Ahead of the station's opening, here are five others that are already in the record books.
