Rarely do the the stars align perfectly at Leeds United.On Monday night they did just that to reveal a Farke phenomenon which could be seen inside Elland Road and heard in the skies above.Old school colours of yellow scarves, bucket hats, smiley badges and shirts adorned the grand old stadium.And the noise was something else. Old school too with bellowing choruses of club anthems, welcomes to jungles and predictions of riots."No Piroe, no party" was one of the many chants during a full-on celebration in front of a raucous packed house which was always going to pump it up, with or without a goal from their top scorer.What a display from the stars on show too. In-keeping with so much of the season.A galaxy away from their opponents, play-off hopefuls Bristol City, United put in a sparkling performance which illuminated every one of the 30 points which form the gap between the sides in the Championship. Oh what a party, oh what a show, Leeds United had gone to town.The players performed magnificently as if a constellation, like they were champions already, to forever sear a special moment into the memories of those fortunate to be in its presence. Sheffield Wednesday charged by EFL over failure to pay wages on time
June 4 (Reuters) - The English Football League (EFL) has charged Sheffield Wednesday with multiple breaches of regulations after the second-tier club failed to pay players' wages on time. The club had already been placed under registration embargoes in the last two seasons having received a six-point deduction during the 2020-21 season for breaching profit and sustainability rules. "The owner of Sheffield Wednesday, Dejphon Chansiri, has also been charged with causing the club to be in breach of EFL regulations despite his commitment to fund the cash requirements of the club," the EFL said in a statement on Tuesday. "All charges relate to both the Ultimate Beneficial Owner and the club failing to meet their obligations to pay players' wages on time and in full in March and May 2025." Thai businessman Chansiri, who took over Sheffield Wednesday in 2015, had acknowledged the charges and apologised to everyone connected with the club, the team said. "The club continue to seek a resolution regarding outstanding salaries due for the month of May at the earliest possible opportunity," it added. The club and Chansiri have 14 days to respond to the charges. Sheffield Wednesday finished 12th in the Championship in the recently-concluded season.

Bryan Mbeumo's staggering salary demands after deciding on Man Utd transfer
Manchester United have their sights set on Bryan Mbeumo and are set to approach Brentford for talks in a bid to make the Cameroon star their second summer signing Bryan Mbeumo is said to have told Manchester United he wants to more than quadruple his wages to £250,000-a-week if he is to move to Old Trafford this summer. The Cameroon star, 25, has been identified by United as their next priority signing after concluding a deal for Matheus Cunha from Wolves. And despite interest from elsewhere in the form of Arsenal and Newcastle, Mbeumo has indicated his preference would be to join the Red Devils. Mbeumo is coming off the back of a standout season for Brentford after breaking the 20 goal barrier in the Premier League for the first time. United are set to approach Brentford imminently to try and thrash out a deal for the versatile forward, who is valued by the Londoners in excess of £60million. But Mbeumo's desire for a significant salary increase means the overall package of a deal for the Bees talisman will not be cheap. As first revealed by The Times, Mbeumo currently earns £50,000-a-week at Brentford; he's looking to increase that FIVE-FOLD should he move to Old Trafford. If United agreed to said demands, them Mbeumo would instantly become one of the club's highest earners during a transfer window where the Red Devils are looking to offload two of their most handsomely paid players in Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. Mbeumo is in the final year of his deal in west London and, while the club do hold an option, there is an acceptance at Brentford that he is likely to move on after another stellar season in red and white. Like Cunha, Mbeumo would arrive at United as an oven ready addition to Ruben Amorim 's beleaguered squad given he is an established Premier League player. United finished 15th in the league last year and, as such, are planning for a major squad overhaul. Mbeumo's goal tally last season was among the best in the league with only Mo Salah, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak bettering his 20 strikes. To put those returns into context, Bruno Fernandes and Amad were United's joint-top scorers in the Premier League last season with eight goals. While Brentford are open to cashing in on Mbeumo this summer, Thomas Frank, the Bees' head coach, has already stressed that their star forward will not leave on the cheap. 'It is clear that if he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice amount,' Frank said recently. 'It is a lot. Mucho. Really a lot. How many wingers score 20 goals for a mid-table club? And then with seven assists plus his work ethic. And his character. All these things mean that he has a lot, so he is a good player.'

East Kilbride land St Johnstone in cup: Big scalps last season show we'll have no fear in Premier Sports clashes, says boss
Kilby will take on the likes of St Johnstone and Raith Rovers in their cup section next month East Kilbride boss Mick Kennedy says his side hold no fears going into the Premier Sports League Cup groups this summer after pulling off some cup scalps last season. Newly-promoted Kilby are still riding the crest of a wave after reaching the SPFL last month and they are now looking forward to their first matches as a League Two club after the draw for the League Cup was made last week. Kennedy's side have been drawn in Group F alongside top seeds St Johnstone, who were relegated to the Championship last season, Championship side Raith Rovers, League One Inverness Caley Thistle and League Two rivals Elgin City. EK defeated the likes of Championship sides Airdrie and Ayr United in the Challenge Cup last term, so Kennedy believes they can punch above their weight again. Reacting to the draw, which will see Kilby host Saints at K-Park on July 12, Kennedy said: 'I look forward to these occasions because it gives us a chance to test ourselves against some big teams. 'Nothing changes in terms of our style of play, so they are always interesting occasions. I'm looking forward to it. 'It's a really good group. There's three full-time clubs in there so it will be a big test, but we showed last season that we can compete with Championship clubs on our day. 'St Johnstone is a massive game to kick us off after getting into the SPFL. I know they had an unsuccessful season and had a new manager come in, but I have a lot of admiration for [boss] Simo Valakari in terms of how his side plays. 'He is trying to implement a possession-based style of play so I think that will make for a good game between us. 'We will go to try and win all the games and we'll certainly show no fear.' With East Kilbride being involved in the end of season play-offs last term, Kennedy says they will need to use the cup as pre-season. EK are due to play one friendly on Saturday, July 5 against an as yet unnamed opponent before the cup campaign gets underway. League Two will kick-off on August 2. Kennedy added: 'We will try and get one friendly in before the cup starts but that will be our pre-season. 'We need to use the competition as our pre-season because we finished a lot later than the SPFL teams and the boys needed their break.'
