PHILADELPHIA - Police have identified two brothers who were killed when their vehicle struck a barrier on an I-95 overpass and crashed onto the street below.
Aaron Davis, 23, and Joshua Davis, 22, were killed, and their two brothers were critically injured in the Friday night crash, police said.
A puppy that was riding in the car with the four brothers was also killed.
What we know
Investigators say the deadly crash happened when a Mazda with four brothers inside was racing another vehicle on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia and lost control.
Aaron Davis, 23, and Joshua Davis, 22, were ejected from the backseat of the speeding car when it rolled several times and fell off an overpass onto Castor Avenue.
Both brothers, and a puppy that police say was also thrown from the car, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other brothers who were riding in the front seats remain in critical condition.
No other motorists or pedestrians were injured in the crash.

Two firefighters among three people taken to hospital following I-91 crash
Three people — including two firefighters — were injured when a driver tried passing a vehicle on Interstate 91 in Hartford on Wednesday night and struck a fire truck that was blocking an exit ramp. The collision occurred shortly before 11:50 p.m. on I-91 South at the Exit 32A-B off-ramp where the driver of a 2016 Acura TLX was in the exit lane and tried passing a 2020 Mazda CX-5 in the right lane prior to a lane closure, according to Connecticut State Police. The Acura driver was going at a 'high rate of speed' when he struck the driver side of a fire truck and then the passenger side of the Mazda, state police said. According to the Hartford Fire Department, the fire truck had responded at a single-vehicle crash. State police said fire crews were blocking the ramp. Fire officials said two firefighters were taken to a hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries. They were conscious and alert and were released by the morning, according to fire officials. The driver of the Acura, a 22-year-old Davon Williams of Hartford, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Hartford Hospital, state police said. No other injuries were reported. Williams was found at fault for the crash and was issued a misdemeanor summons on charges of reckless driving, driving to endanger, reckless endangerment, failure to slow down or move over for a stopped emergency vehicle and endangerment of a highway worker, according to state police. He is free on a $1,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on July 3.

Crash on I-35 in Sumner County sends one to hospital
SUMNER COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — One person was hospitalized Friday night following a two-vehicle crash on the Kansas Turnpike in Sumner County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1997 GMC Sierra was slowing down when it was rear-ended by a 2013 Mazda 3. The driver of the GMC, a 28-year-old man from Wellington, sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Francis Hospital for treatment. Woman killed while walking on Kansas City area highway
A 42-year-old Independence woman died early Saturday after she was struck by two vehicles on Interstate 70 in Blue Springs, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The fatal crash occurred about 5 a.m. along westbound I-70 near the Northeast Adams Dairy Parkway, according to the highway patrol. According to a preliminary crash report, the woman, who was not identified, was walking on the highway when she was struck by a 2021 Mazda CX-5, driven by a 48-year-old man. A 2016 Dodge Ram, driven by a 39-year-old man, then hit the woman. A paramedic pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The Mazda sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene. The Dodge was not damaged. No further details, including why the woman was walking in the area, was included in the report.
