Jo Wood has revealed the hilarious nickname given to her by her grandchildren as she admitted they know all about her wild drug-taking rock and roll past.
The former wife of The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood was known for embracing the party lifestyle in her younger days.
And the star admitted her grandchildren are now calling her 'Gangsta Granny' after she revealed some of her past antics to them.
Speaking on Good Housekeeping UK's podcast My Life in A Biscuit Tin, Jo said: 'I know I shouldn't say this, but I was in the car with them and they were giggling, two of them [grandchildren, Maggie and Kobe].
'They went, "Gran, have you done any drugs?" I said, "Of course I have, but I don't recommend it".
'I said, "Because it didn't get me anywhere except lots of sleepless nights".
Explaining how she believes it is important to be honest with your family she added: 'You can't be dishonest, because they'll find out.
'So, I tried to warn them it was a waste of time, but I was in a very special situation. So then they said, "We're going to call you Gangster Gran from now on."'
Jo was married to rocker Ronnie for 24 years between 1985-2011 and the two share children Leah, 46, and Tyrone, 41. She also became stepmother to Ronnie's son Jesse, 48, from his first marriage.
Jo is also mum to another son, Jamie, 50, from her first marriage to clothing entrepreneur Peter Greene.
The star has 10 grandchildren in total, four from Jamie, two from Leah and four from Jesse.
Last year Jo revealed she had left her wild nights of partying behind for an eco-friendly countryside cottage.
The TV personality moved to the old farmhouse in 2019 and has embraced 'off-grid' living, generating her own electricity and nurturing her own vegetable patch.
Aside from WiFi, she more or less lives self-sufficiently and has traded in her days of drinking and joints for homegrown veg and is even creating a capsule supplement called Longevity to boost her health.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Jo admitted that she didn't have an addictive personality which made it easier for her to walk away from the party lifestyle after it suddenly dawned on her one day that way of living wasn't what she wanted.
She explained: 'I could drink all night, suffer the next day and not touch a drop for a few days. I never had a problem with it. I used to smoke a joint every evening and then one day I thought "No, I don't want this any more" and stopped. I'm lucky like that.'
After ditching her unhealthy lifestyle, Jo converted to organic food in 1991 after she was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, this was later revealed to be a misdiagnosis and she actually had a perforated appendix.
'I laid in hospital and said to myself "from now on, I will be an organic girl",' Jo explained.
Her obsession with organics led to her interest in plastics and chemicals in cosmetics which led to her fragrance company Jo Wood Organics.
The star got Ronnie on a healthy diet, and her son Jamie even joked that he left home because he couldn't stand her being so health conscious anymore.
She added: 'I'm going to live forever. That's the plan. I certainly want to make sure to live to an old age because I want to see what's going to happen with my grandchildren.'

One South West London town has been named one of the UK's most boring places to live - but its great transport and activity offerings have some begging to differ London, known for its vibrant life offers endless activities day and night. Yet, surprisingly, a South West London town has been dubbed one of the UK's " most boring" places to live. Surbiton received the title from The Telegraph, alongside five other UK towns. The criteria used by the publication is not entirely clear, but it appears to have selected locations that people "collectively consider boring", despite each having its own unique charm. Surbiton indeed has much to offer those seeking a tranquil experience on the outskirts of London, reports MyLondon. Nestled on the edge of London and Surrey, the leafy and peaceful Surbiton was once described by The Telegraph as "neither London nor Surrey, neither ultra-middle class nor confusedly 'gritty.' It also notes that the area is close to Home Park and Hampton Court, as well as Surrey Hills and Kingston. The paper notes that the area's top tourist attraction is its station which is perhaps why it made it to the list in the first place. However, what some might not know is that the hit sitcom series The Good Life was set in Surbiton, although it was actually filmed in the Middlesex borough of Northwood. So while it might have just won the title of being one of the UK's most boring towns, Surbiton has actually got plenty to offer for those looking for a more relaxed outskirts of London experience. Transport and housing The town is well-connected to the city, despite falling within Travelcard Zone 6. Journeys between Surbiton station and London Waterloo takes on average 27 minutes - making it a great option for commuters. Its train station has a beautiful art-deco front which has featured in its fair share of TV shows and films including Harry Potter and Poirot. The area has also been home to celebrities like Spiderman star Tom Holland, and authors Enid Blyton and Jacqueline Wilson. Things to do Surbiton may have been branded one of the UK's "most boring" places, but it surprisingly offers a fair bit more activity-wise. It's nestled near several verdant areas, including Claremont Gardens and Berrylands Nature Reserve. One TripAdvisor review that is a self-proclaimed "regular" at Claremont Gardens confirmed the area is beautiful year-round. "The colours of the trees and landscape are beautiful in different ways through the year. It's definitely worth a visit for a little exploration and calm wander around the grounds." The reviewer also suggested heading out onto the water for some added fun. "I've enjoyed hiring a boat to head out on the pond too, with the quizzical looks of interest from the ducks and birds floating around. The obligatory visit to a National Trust cafe for a scone also helps!" Come the weekend, the locals revel in the "great atmosphere and true sense of community" found at the bustling Surbiton Farmers Market. Another TripAdvisor reviewer emphasises the friendliness of locals: "This farmers' market is great to visit with such a variety of food and drinks plus plants and flowers. All the stall holders are so friendly and cheerful, whatever the weather." Connoisseurs of fine architecture can also admire the historic clock tower, a John Johnson creation commemorating the coronation of HRH King Edward VII in 1902.

‘I caught British rock stars on film raw and up-close before they were famous'
Six decades ago photographer Gus Coral went on tour with a penniless band and took hundreds of candid photos. Now the band are global superstars and the unseen snaps have gone on show at a new exhibition When photographer Gus Coral looked under his bed he unearthed a treasure trove of unseen pictures of The Rolling Stones – stashed there more than 60 years ago. Fans of the rockers will undoubtedly feel the six decade wait was worth it when 100 candid pictures go on display in London from Friday June 6 in a new exhibition, Rolling Stones Unseen '63. The snaps from 1963 show The Stones' first ever UK tour, before they achieved global fame, documented by photographer Gus Coral. Now 87, Gus, of Camden, North London, was just 26 when he first encountered the then penniless blues loving band, touring as the support act for their idols Little Richard, Bo Diddley and The Everly Brothers. Gus tells The Mirror: "I have almost 200 hundred images of The Stones in total which I took after I was invited to photograph them on their first British tour. "Aside from showing a few photos to some friends over the years, the majority of these photographs have never been seen before because they have been under my bed for all those years. "It was only thanks to one of my children who said one day, 'Shouldn't you be doing something with those?' that this exhibition has come about. "So here we are. We will be having 100 photos on show for this exhibition and I am excited to see them on public display for the first time. 'Some people have asked why I have hung onto them for so long, but my philosophy about photography is that I wanted to take photos that were going to be important in the future and of historical importance." Gus's black and white images capture a baby faced Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts launching their first UK tour, which took in tiny music halls in places including Cardiff, Watford, Southend-on-Sea, Hanley, Wolverhampton and Cheltenham. The Stones performed two 10 minute sets at each venue and the tour was organised and promoted by Sharon Osbourne's late father, music impresario Don Arden and gave the band the exposure that helped make them global stars. Gus says: "I got to meet The Stones through my friend, film-maker Dick Fontaine, who was working for ABC Television at the time. We had been to see The Stones at The Crawdaddy Club in Richmond, west London, where they were the resident band. "Dick thought they were really good and he wanted to try and convince ABC to make a television film with them. He'd already filmed The Beatles, so he had a very good track record. "Cardiff was the nearest time we could catch them. It was their first national tour and I think Cardiff was the second date. So off we went. "But there was no hassle in getting access to them back then. We just went into the theatre, no press, no "access all areas" passes needed and all that stuff. "In fact, the guy on the stage door at Cardiff's Capitol Theatre told us they were in the cafe around the corne,r so we went and met them there. And then backstage and during the show I had complete access, no other photographers were there." By the end of the 30-date tour, the band's first single, a cover of Chuck Berry's Come On, reached number 21 on the UK chart and Gus knew The Stones were on the cusp of greatness. "When I took those photos I was 26. A little bit older than them, maybe 10 years older than some. But The Stones look incredibly young in these photos. So did I back then," laughs Gus., "Mick Jagger has a baby face in these images, but it was all there. You know, like the seeds of what he was to become. At that time they were a blues band. It wasn't rock n roll, it was blues and I was a real fan. The blues kind of just hit me, got my soul. 'After I photographed them in Cardiff they invited me to see them recording at a studio in Holborn, in central London." Just two two years later, in 1965, the The Stones took the music world by storm with (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, penned by Jagger and Richards, gave the band their first number one in the UK and the US. Now, after selling 250 million albums worldwide and amassing $2.9 billion from ticket sales during their 63-year-long career, The Stones are still rocking. And Mick, 81, Keith Richards, 81, and guitarist Ronnie Wood, 78, are back in the studio in London recording the follow up to their 2023 album Hackney Diamonds. Gus says: "I knew they would make it but nobody could have guessed how big they would have become. When I took the pictures of the band in 1963 The Stones had no money but Mick Jagger had great energy. "It is phenomenal they are still going, as touring is hard work. But I guess it is all down to Mick. He has always had a fantastic image. Without him it would not have happened in the way it did.' Excited about hopes of transferring his exhibition to New York after his London showcase, Gus adds: "These photographs have been a closely guarded secret for over 60 years, seen only by a handful of people. "They capture The Rolling Stones in a way the world has never witnessed, raw and ambitious. I'm thrilled to finally share them with the world. • The Rolling Stones Unseen '63 exhibition runs at Dockside Vaults in London's St. Katharine Docks, from Friday (June 6) to September 10.
