‘Fresh deliveries every day': Festival Foods planning for wave of customers during NFL Draft
SUAMICO, Wis. (WFRV) – Grocery stores are used to the large crowds at peak times of the year, whether it's sports fans preparing for their tailgate or barbecue or families hosting a gathering.
But nothing will be quite like the crush of shoppers during the NFL Draft.
Titletown's Turn: Local 5 examines potential challenges as 2025 NFL Draft comes to Green Bay
'First night's probably about 250, 300,000 from forecasts we've seen in the past. It will be busier than an average Packer home game,' Suamico Festival Foods assistant store director Seth Petersen said. 'Whether you're catering or looking for party items like taco trays, fruit trays, vegetable items, we'll have all that stuff in stock, ready to go.'
Petersen says that his team has been planning for the draft for nearly a year, and will be leaning on the flexibility of their vendor partners during the big week.
'We're very fortunate to have good vendor partners, and we've been planning for months, if not a year, taking a look at the needs of the business, what we'll need,' he said. 'We've been working on production plans for months, if not a year, to prepare for this event. So we have great plans to be fully prepared and in stock with our freshest quality items.'

Petersen's staff will be ready to have all hands on deck, and fresh produce items need to be delivered
'We get fresh deliveries every single day. So that won't change during the draft, it'll just increase,' Petersen said. 'Fortunately the whole team is eager and excited to be ramped up for that week. We expect traffic to be early and often, as folks prepare for the draft and form that plan.'
'At least more than double': Local businesses prepare to multiply inventory for NFL Draft
Festival Foods staff will also welcome visitors with burgers and brats, ideally outside, weather-permitting.
'Hopefully we're able to bring out the Festy burgers and Oktoberfest brats, but whether it's firing up the grills or ovens, we'll have everything you need,' Petersen said. 'Whether it's products here from Green Bay or across Wisconsin, we have local partnerships with those vendors and they're excited to showcase their products.'

Jaxson Dart's Terrible OTAs Left Fans in Disbelief About Skipping Shedeur Sanders
Jaxson Dart's Terrible OTAs Left Fans in Disbelief About Skipping Shedeur Sanders originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As Shedeur Sanders continues to trend upwards with the Cleveland Browns, another rookie quarterback is having a hard time getting adjusted. Advertisement There weren't many teams past the Tennessee Titans who needed a QB in the 2025 NFL Draft. But one team in particular, the New York Giants, was shopping aggressively. Sanders was linked to the G-Men in the pre-draft process for several reasons. They held a top-five pick, sent all of their scouting staff to Boulder for CU's Pro Day, and had a well-documented history of courting Sanders during the 2024 season. But in the end, the Giants skipped Sanders and trading up at the end of the first round to select Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart. It was the beginning of Sanders' slide. But was that a costly mistake for Brian Daboll and his staff? With OTAs underway, Dart has yet to have a spectacular day in the Meadowlands. The former Rebels passer reportedly went 5-for-9 with two interceptions on Thursday. Related: Browns OC Sends Clear Message About Shedeur Sanders in QB Battle Many people are now questioning if the Giants made the wrong decision by not taking Sanders. Of course, these are just practices and there's nothing at real game speed. However, the pressure is on for Daboll and his staff to show progress during the upcoming season, according to sources. It's the reason why New York signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency. Still, there will be a point where passing of Sanders might be a regret for New York and other NFL teams. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 6, 2025, where it first appeared.

Todd McShay's Comp for Klubnik? A Rising NFL Star
Todd McShay's Comp for Klubnik? A Rising NFL Star originally appeared on Athlon Sports. NFL Draft guru Todd McShay is high on Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik, and he has a compelling NFL comparison that should excite Tigers fans. Advertisement On "The McShay Show," the former ESPN analyst broke down Klubnik's game and saw a striking resemblance to a quarterback who just lit up the AFC West as a rookie: Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix. Rebilas-Imagn Images "I see a lot of Bo Nix in this kid. I see a lot of Bo Nix in Cade Klubnik," McShay stated. "I think he's great when the initial play breaks down, when he's gotta climb the pocket, when he's gotta side step. It's like soothing to him, which I love that." It's a comparison that carries significant weight. Nix, the 12th overall pick in the 2024 draft, is coming off a stellar rookie campaign where he threw for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns for the Broncos. He added another 430 yards and four scores with his legs, quickly establishing himself as a franchise player. Advertisement McShay admits he may have initially overlooked some of the traits in Nix that he now sees in Klubnik. "Watch his arm, like how loose, and the ball, it has more energy than it looks," McShay added, describing a shared "elastic" quality in both quarterbacks' arms. "I said the same thing about Bo, and I put too much emphasis on all the problems at Auburn and not enough on the development at Oregon. I absolutely undervalued Bo Nix." Klubnik, now entering his senior season, is building a resume that justifies the hype. In a dominant 2024 junior year, he was one of only two quarterbacks nationwide to pass for over 3,500 yards and rush for over 400. By the Numbers: Klubnik's 2024 Breakout Advertisement Passing: 3,639 yards, 36 TDs, 6 INTs Rushing: 463 yards, 7 TDs Total Touchdowns: 43 (2nd in FBS) His impressive touchdown-to-interception ratio (36-to-6) was among the nation's best, showcasing the decision-making that has scouts buzzing. The buzz is translating directly to his draft stock. In McShay's Way-Too-Early 2026 Mock Draft, he projected Klubnik as a top-five pick, landing with the Cleveland Browns. "When I'm saying Bo Nix [comp to Klubnik], like look at the size, look at the mobility, look at the elastic arm, look at kind of the chaos pressure stuff," McShay clarified. "I'm not saying the ceiling is Bo Nix. I'm just saying when I watch him, I see a lot of the same stuff." Advertisement As Klubnik enters the 2025 season as a bona fide Heisman Trophy candidate, the comparison to a successful pro like Nix will only amplify the spotlight on the Clemson signal-caller. The San Francisco 49ers may need rookie safety Marques Sigle to take a significant role in his first season.
The San Francisco 49ers may need rookie safety Marques Sigle to take a significant role in his first season. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The San Francisco 49ers made a whopping 11 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, and six of them were on defense. With that being said, the team still has a hole on that side of the ball. Advertisement The Niners lost standout safety Talanoa Hufanga to the Denver Broncos in free agency earlier this offseason, so the team's depth at the position does not inspire a lot of confidence. It also does not help that sophomore defensive back Malik Mustapaha will be out with an ACL tear until at least the middle of the season. As a result, the team will need someone to step up and be a guy they can count on to help them over the top. And they might have selected that guy with the 160th overall pick in the fifth round of this year's draft. Kansas State's Marques Sigle will likely be out with an injury until the 49ers' training camp, he could be just the player that the team needs to help them in this time of need at the safety position. He finished his final season with the Wildcats with 60 total tackles, seven of them being for a loss. He was also able to show his ball-hawk skills with a few defended passes and three interceptions. Advertisement It does not sound like the 2025 fifth-round draft pick will be ready quite yet … but when he is, the team may need to call on him to provide some depth in their secondary - or maybe more than just depth.
