Bath showed their defensive mettle with a close fought 26-24 victory over Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park.Despite holding an early lead through Jack Yeandle's effort, Bath's power game proved too much for the home side, with a penalty try and efforts from Niall Annett, Josh Bayliss and Will Muir contributing to Bath's healthy half-time lead.A determined Chiefs' renaissance saw Paul Brown-Bampoe power over for two tries early in the second half, but Bath clung on for their 12th victory of the season.The result isn't enough to secure Bath's position in the play-offs, but with a 15-point lead in the Premiership table, they are all-but certain to host a semi-final in June.More to follow.

They will land the 19-year-old for training compensation and the Welsh youth international is understood to have already completed his Hoops medical. Cottagers boss Marco Silva rates Osmand highly, and promoted him to train with the first team and take his place on the bench towards the end of last season, although he wasn't given an English Premier League run out. And if the Portuguese's comments on Osmand are anything to go by, he will be disappointed to lose him, although the reason for leaving is exactly what Silva said the youngster needed after bringing him into the top team fold at Fulham. And he reckons a strike partner will allow Brendan Rodgers to see Osmand at his full potential further down the line. 'It's not his first time he's been with us," said Silva towards the end of the 2024/25 campaign. "Last season, he had some sessions with us, pre-season too, and the beginning of the season. "He is much more mobile [than a traditional centre forward], let's see if he is going to have a chance or not to play some minutes, but he is going to have a chance to train much more with us, to be much more involved with the first team. 'He needs more senior football in his legs to see how he can adapt, perform. He's got the profile that I like. When he has a chance, he can punish the opposition. "I can see the talent, in a position that is very difficult to play in the Premier League. Probably if you play another striker by his side … you will take the best from him. Let's hope we can help him to be ready for the Premier League.'

Nilson Angulo Celtic transfer bid 'rejected' as second attempt could be made for Anderlecht winger
The Ecuador international has enjoyed a breakthrough season in Belgium and is attracting interest from elsewhere Anderlecht have reportedly knocked back a Celtic bid for winger Nilson Angulo. However, the Premiership champions could try again with another offer according to StudioFutbol in Ecuador. The 21-year-old was a regular for the Belgians in the Jupiler Pro League last season, featuring 29 teams for the first team, making six Europa League outings. The Ecuadorian arrived at the Brussels club from LDU Quito in July 2022 for €1.9m. His rise from the Anderlecht second string has been relatively rapid, with Angulo already winning five full caps for his country. With two years left to run on his contract, Les Mauve et Blanc are in a strong negotiating position and will likely be looking for multiples of their initial outlay in order to let him go. Celtic have proven they aren't scared to pay the going rate for talent if they think they can develop stars further and reap the rewards down the line. Brendan Rodgers convinced the Parkhead board to shell out a club record fee of £11million for Arne Engels last summer, although it's unlikely to require similar numbers to land Angulo. Reports in the player's homeland claim other European clubs are interested, however.
