According to police, the incident took place on Monday at 9.15 pm. The black Grand Vitara belonged to a businessman.
Police said four bullets were fired at the car, which also hit another car, a Wagon R, parked nearby.
A police officer said they are looking into whether the incident is a possible case of extortion or personal enmity and are questioning the businessman and his family.
'A PCR call was received at 9.15 pm at K N Katju Marg police station. The caller, a woman, said someone fired at the family's car,' a police officer said.
A team was dispatched to the crime scene, a police officer said, which found two bullet marks on the Grand Vitara's windshield. Two more bullet marks were found on the back side of the WagonR.
During questioning, the complainant said she and her husband went to the market in Rohini's Sector 15 around 6 pm on Monday. When she returned, her husband found bullet marks on the car.
'CCTV from around the building showed four people on two bikes in the area… Six shells have been recovered from the spot. The routes taken by the assailants are being analysed,' a police officer said.
Officers said from the footage, the police have zeroed in on the accused. Teams of the Special Staff and Crime Branch are now investigating the case, police said.

Youth Stabbed To Death By Man, 2 Sons Over ‘Affair'

New Delhi: A 19-year-old youth was chased and fatally stabbed in northeast Delhi's Seelampur area allegedly by a relative and his two sons, one of whom is a minor. The victim's family alleged that the attack was linked to a suspected affair with the relative's daughter. Police received a PCR call at 10.39 pm on Tuesday reporting a stabbing incident in Tyre Wali Gali. "Upon reaching the spot, team found that the injured victim had already been taken to the hospital by parents, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival," police said. The crime and forensic teams inspected the scene, and a case of murder was registered. The deceased worked in a factory stitching seat covers, the same trade as his father. Preliminary investigations revealed that he had been involved in an ongoing dispute with a relative who, along with his two sons, allegedly carried out the fatal attack. All three suspects have been apprehended. The victim's uncle recounted the chilling series of events that culminated in the young man's death. On June 7, the girl's father—also the victim's relative—allegedly saw the teenager and his daughter communicating through hand gestures on the street. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Eat 1 Teaspoon Every Night, See What Happens A Week Later [Video] getfittoday Undo This seemingly harmless interaction reportedly enraged the father, who suspected a romantic relationship and responded with a violent physical assault. Fearing further violence, the victim's family decided to send him away from the area in hopes of defusing the situation. However, the sense of safety proved short-lived. On Wednesday, the teenager reportedly contacted his relatives, asking them to bring him some clothes. Somehow, the accused trio—the relative and his two sons—became aware of his location. According to police, the assailants then allegedly tracked down the young man. Despite his desperate attempt to seek refuge in a nearby home, they pursued him inside, cornering him. There, they surrounded him and unleashed a relentless knife attack, leaving him with fatal wounds. "We were informed by someone that my nephew had been attacked," the relative told reporters, visibly shaken. The deceased's father told the media that the family had previously attempted to resolve the growing tensions with their relative. However, these efforts were reportedly met with a chilling threat—the uncle allegedly warned that he would kill the young man. Recalling the tragic aftermath, the father said when he rushed to save his son, he saw one of the attackers near the house. "When I entered, there was blood everywhere. I found my son lying in a pool of blood," he recounted. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here . Ghaziabad: 1 killed as car rams into mini truck on NH 9

Ghaziabad: A 30-year-old man was killed and three others sustained injuries after a Maruti Suzuki WagonR rear-ended a moving pickup truck on NH09 near Lal Kuan, Ghaziabad, on Wednesday morning, police said. Police identified the deceased as Mohin Khan, 30, and the injured as Sameer, Faizan, and Hitesh (in their 30s) -- all residents of Gajraula. The incident took place around 6.30am, when the four men were heading to Noida for office in a car, just when a pickup truck moving ahead of their WagonR suddenly applied brakes, officers said. 'A probe found that the pickup truck driver applied brakes to avoid an accident with another vehicle, and the WagonR driver that was behind the truck rammed into it at a high speed. The collision left the car's front damaged, making the driver fled the scene with his vehicle,' said SHO (Wave City) Sarvesh Kumar Pal. A passer-by alerted the police, and a visiting team from Wave City police rescued the injured from the mangled car and rushed them to a hospital where Khan succumbed to his injuries and the rest are hospitalised. Police have registered a case of causing death by negligence (106) under the BNS section at Wave City police station, and efforts are on to identify the truck driver, officers said.
