Nintendo's Switch 2 Has the Handheld Market All to Itself
Eight years since the launch of Nintendo Co.'s original Switch, the new console is finally here, in stores Thursday and online Friday. To greet the Switch 2, the return of what I feel is a much-missed staple, there was a frenzied midnight launch. Reports the Guardian:
When the first Switch hit the market in 2017, rival console makers paid little attention. Nintendo was the walking wounded, reeling off the back of a highly disappointing Wii U, which sold a mere 13.6 million units, an extreme disappointment after 100 million in sales of the groundbreaking Wii. Its choice to separate from the pack, to not create a traditional home console to compete with Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox and Sony Group Corp.'s PlayStation, was seen as an admission of having fallen behind.

Nomura Flags Risk of Sharp Yen Rally on US-Japan Policy Pressure
Japanese investors pivoting out of US assets as yen yields rise — combined with implicit pressure from Washington over the exchange rate during trade talks — could push the currency about 6% higher against the dollar in the coming months, according to Nomura Holdings, Inc. The investment bank, among Japan's largest, now recommends shorting the greenback versus the yen, targeting a move in the pair to ¥136 by the end of September, from around ¥145 currently. Nomura's Yusuke Miyairi, Yujiro Goto and Dominic Bunning expect that the Bank of Japan 's steady pace of rate hikes, will 'encourage domestic investors to increase more domestic bond than overseas bond exposure,' they wrote in a Friday report to clients.

If Elon Musk's Wealth Was Evenly Distributed Across America, How Much Money Would Every Person Get?
We've seen the headlines that reveal how rich the world's top billionaires are — but it's hard to comprehend just how rich they are. Consider this: Let's say you had $1 billion in your bank account and had to spend $100,000 every day, for an entire year. After 365 days, you would still have $963,500,000 (nine hundred sixty-three million five hundred thousand). Discover More: Find Out: Over the last two decades, billionaires have ballooned their wealth to unparalleled levels. In 2005, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ranked as the world's richest person, with a net worth of $46.5 billion, as reported by CNN. Today, that title belongs to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, whose net worth stands at $368 billion as of June 5, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Even when adjusted for inflation, Gates' former net worth would be equivalent to roughly $76 billion in today's dollars. It is worth noting that other billionaires have also increased their wealth during the same time. For instance, tech billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos are worth $229 billion and $227 billion, ranking second and third globally. For many Americans, this trend is not sitting well. The sky-high cost of living has catalyzed support for redistributive tax policies, especially among younger voters and the progressive base of the Democratic Party. While higher taxation may or may not happen in the years to come, here's hypothetically how much you'd get if the world's richest man gives a check to every American. The United States Census Bureau estimates the current population to be around 341 million people, ranking only behind India and China. If Musk's enormous $368 billion were equally divided in the U.S., each person would receive $1,079 (rounded to the nearest dollar). A couple would receive $2,158, while a family of four would get $4,316. Despite the enormous wealth of billionaires, much of their fortune is tied up in stocks, real estate, and other holdings. Only a small percentage of their assets is held in cash. Based on data from Forbes, Musk has a 12% ownership stake in Tesla and to date, he remains the largest shareholder in the $1.15 trillion electric vehicle company. This is in addition to a 42% slice in SpaceX and a 54% interest in xAI, among many other businesses. Interestingly, Bloomberg reported that Musk's financial holdings appreciated by 77% after joining the campaign trail with President Donald Trump late last year, as reported by Bloomberg. Investors became bullish on Tesla and Musk became the first person to ever reach a net worth exceeding $400 billion. Since then, Tesla's market value has fluctuated as a result of volatile market conditions, macroeconomic factors and the threat of a global trade war. Fortnite's Leaked Chapter 6, Season 3 Battle Pass Skins Have Yet Another Superhero Ad
Fortnite I'm not sure exactly when the switch was flipped here, but at some point, Fortnite went from adding IPs that created a cool metaverse vibe to feeling like an overstuffed ad-based universe. I get that the lines are blurry, but more than ever it feels a bit exhausting when they're doing stuff like scraping the barrel of Star Wars relevancy with Darth Jar Jar skins. Now, that's about to happen again with Chapter 6, Season 3, which will arrive after the Death Star sabotage event tomorrow, June 7. The leaked theme of the season is reportedly about superheroes, and joins at least a hundred superhero skins we already have in the game, with some Fortnite original skins given a superhero twist in this season. But of course, more existing superheroes are coming. The ad in question will be the release of a DCU David Corenswet Superman skin modeled after the actor, ahead of the James Gunn film launching on July 11, which will be in the middle of the season, called 'Super.' Also the super-dog, Krypto, will appear in the season. No word on other characters yet like Lex Luthor, Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl or others who appear in the film, but it's possible they may be coming down the line. There has already been a Clark Kent/Superman skin in Fortnite before this, but that was a more generic, comic-inspired version rather than this specific Corenswet one which, if you ask me, looks a little odd. Superman is not the only superhero arriving in this themed season. One other one that's been confirmed is DC's Robin, Tim Drake edition which many fans are curious about, and some wanted a different one, it seems. There are almost certainly going to be more superhero skins as the season goes on, but these are just the ones that have leaked so far, in addition to some concept art-drafted skins and some updates versions of old favorites. There are also upcoming collabs with Squid Game (naturally to coincide with the release of the third season) and One-Punch Man. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Fortnite's Star Wars season had a rather low playercount, the lowest for the game in quite some time, and many took issue with both its theme and game mechanics. That will all end with the Death Star (maybe?) blowing up part of the map or being blown up itself in tomorrow's event. I get that I'm picking on DC and the Superman movie here, and it's not just Fortnite who does this, but these crossovers are feeling increasingly less cool and more cynical as time goes on. I don't think I'm alone in thinking that. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram. Pick up my sci-fi novels the Herokiller series and The Earthborn Trilogy.
