Vivo X200 FE could launch in India in July: Check expected specs, features, price and more
Vivo is preparing to launch a new device in the Indian market, the Vivo X200 FE. Initially, it was speculated that this device would be a variant of the Vivo X200 Pro Mini, which was launched in China in October 2024. However, new reports suggest that India will get a different version, namely the Vivo X200 FE. The X200 FE will be positioned below the Vivo X200 and X200 Pro. It will offer a more budget-friendly alternative without compromising on essential features. There are also speculations that the Vivo X200 FE could be a rebranded version of the Vivo S30 Pro Mini, which is set to launch in China this month. According to the SmartPrix report, the Vivo X200 FE is expected to feature a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This display will offer an immersive viewing experience, suitable for gaming and media consumption. Under the hood, the phone will likely be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, with a possibility of a switch to the Dimensity 9400e processor.

In the camera department, the Vivo X200 FE is expected to offer a triple camera setup, including a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor, a 50MP Sony IMX882 3x telephoto sensor, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. For selfies and video calls, the phone will likely sport a 50mp front camera to offer high-quality photos.

The device is expected to run on FuntouchOS 15, based on Android 15. Vivo is likely to provide three years of OS updates and three years of security patches, which will ensure long-term support for the device. In terms of battery life, the Vivo X200 FE is anticipated to house a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging, all within a lightweight body weighing just around 200 grams.

Rumours suggest that the phone will be available in two storage variants: 12GB RAM/256GB storage and 16GB RAM/512GB storage. With a price expected to fall in the Rs. 50,000 - Rs. 60,000 range, it could offer a competitive option for consumers in this segment. Vivo may also bring AI features, such as AI seasonal portraits, which have previously been exclusive to China.

Nidec launches Rs 600cr manufacturing plant in Dharwad
Dharwad: Nidec, a global leader in data centre equipment manufacturing, has set up a new plant with an investment of Rs 600 crore at the Beluru Industrial Area in Dharwad. The facility was officially launched by minister for large and medium industries, MB Patil. Speaking at the event, Patil said the new plant, which creates 800 direct jobs, will cater to the growing demand across sectors such as electric vehicles, data centres, renewable energy, battery storage, and general industries. "This unit will bolster local manufacturing, enhance R&D capabilities, and improve supply chain reliability," he said. The plant will manufacture heavy-duty machines of 2MW, 3MW, and 4MW capacity, essential for data centres, using advanced technology from Japan and France. These machines will be exported to markets in the US, the UAE, and Europe, alongside serving the domestic market. "While the facility has initially generated 800 direct jobs, the number is expected to rise to around 3,000 once the plant becomes fully operational," Patil informed. He also mentioned that 20 acres of land has been allocated for the company's battery solutions unit. In addition to heavy machinery, the plant will also produce power backup generators, wind generators, alternators for data centre, EV motors for three wheelers, four wheelers, trucks, elevator motors, and electronic drives-MV and LV. "For Nidec's project, we ensured timely facilitation by allotting the required land within just two years," he added. Addressing concerns about water usage, the minister clarified, "The Krishna River water tribunal has allocated 4 tmc of water for industrial purposes, of which, we are currently using only 0.5 tmc. We are not diverting water meant for agriculture. Moreover, the industries are provided only downstream water from the Hidkal Dam." He further emphasised the importance of balancing industrial development with agricultural interests. "While acquiring land for industrial purposes, fair compensation must be ensured for farmers. Even stars attainable, says Shubhanshu Shukla; Ax-4 liftoff now on June 10
BENGALURU: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of India and three other members of Axiom-4 mission's multinational crew will launch for International Space Station on June 10 at 5.52pm IST, two days later than the originally planned June 8 lift-off. Axiom Space announced the revised schedule Tuesday, citing no reason for the delay. The mission, led by veteran astronaut Peggy Whitson, will launch from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex in Florida. Shukla addressed the world in a stirring final message, combining gratitude, science, and India's cultural pride. "Even stars are attainable," he said. "The last few months have been nothing short of extraordinary - of discovery and unshakable resolve. From diverse systems to advanced platforms, across continents and cultures. This training has been intense but deeply rewarding." Carrying not just scientific equipment but "the hopes and dreams of a billion hearts", Shukla will conduct seven experiments designed by Indian research institutions. 'Sitaare Zameen Par' makers shares his opinion on marching of tech in cinema
Director R.S. Prasanna, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Par', feels that human beings will soon catch up with the technological changes in filmmaking. The filmmaker spoke with IANS in the run-up to the release of his film, which features Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. He recollected how he saw Indian cinema legend Kamal Haasan experimenting with a digital camera, Red Dragon. Speaking with IANS, Prasanna said, "I think the industry is pretty fast in adapting, like I remember when 35mm film was there and I was in film school and Kamal Haasan sir was testing the Red camera in our L.V. Prasad Film Institute, Chennai where I studied. He was doing a test shoot. I remember all the people around saying, 'it's just a fad and it'll not happen, it's not gonna happen', and it did". "I feel unless genetically our heart changes or our mind changes, I think storytelling and emotions will be the same, the form will keep changing and we have to be on the awareness of that as a director, but I think for me as a filmmaker, I'm only looking for the soul, which I think soul is very old, so it won't change that fast", he added.
