I was in a car crash right before my wedding — I don't remember the special day at all
I do…or did I? A woman got into a traumatic car accident before her wedding, which caused her to leave her special day with only a few scattered memories. 'She doesn't know it yet but after her final wedding dress fitting, a car will spin out on the highway, erasing her wedding day memories in an instant,' Kristen Parker, 34, captioned a TikTok video (@tandkaythespectrumway). It turns out that the bride-to-be was driving home from the final fitting of her wedding dress when a spinning car collided with hers on the highway. 'I remember thinking we missed the car and that everything is fine,' Parker, from Vancouver, Canada, told Newsweek. 'But I looked over and the whole right side of my car was busted up and mangled.' Kristen was taken to the hospital, where her neck and stomach were evaluated, and then sent home after she was cleared by medical professionals. 'The emergency doctor saw me and didn't take it seriously,' she told the outlet. 'They asked if I hit my head, and I said I didn't remember.' 'So they didn't check my brain,' she added. So, the next day, the woman attended her bachelorette party and continued as scheduled with her $50,000 wedding to her partner Troy and honeymoon — mostly due to all the money they spent. However, as Parker continued to show signs of memory loss and disorientation, she continued to insist that something was wrong. 'I've been gaslit by my medical team for almost a year-and-a-half,' she claimed, noting that she believes doctors may have dismissed her in part because of her autistic diagnosis. Eventually, the 34-year-old was diagnosed with a concussion, stroke, and brain atrophy. She's also lost the ability to sing due to throat blockages from the accident. Her symptoms not only made it hard to finalize her wedding planning, but she also barely remembered the joys of the special day. 'The morning of, there was literally no one setting up the wedding,' Kristen said. 'I didn't remember to get that going.' She got ready on her own, as her lovely bridesmaids jumped into action and set everything up — something a wedding planner normally would've done. Then they got on with the ceremony and festivities. 'Everything's kind of a blur,' Kristen said. 'I just knew I was marrying my man that day, and that was it.' Her memories of the special day remain limited, but fortunately, their videographer gave them all the raw footage that was captured. 'It was the first time seeing it,' she said. 'I don't remember my wedding, and that's why I post videos — just so I can try to look back on it.'

NHL rumors: Pierre LeBrun names Connor McDavid ‘shortlist' if he ever leaves Oilers
The post NHL rumors: Pierre LeBrun names Connor McDavid 'shortlist' if he ever leaves Oilers appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Edmonton Oilers are licking their wounds after a second straight Stanley Cup Final loss against the Florida Panthers, and now the discussion has turned to Connor McDavid's future with the team. The man widely regarded as the best hockey player in the world is up for a new contract this offseason before he hits unrestricted free agency next summer. Advertisement McDavid could very well sign an extension with the Oilers, especially off the back of his previous eight-year deal worth $100 million that he is coming off of. However, if he doesn't want to re-sign with Edmonton, it would benefit the Oilers to trade him this summer and still get something back for him rather than letting him walk for nothing in free agency. If McDavid does choose to leave Edmonton, it may not be a situation where any team can make a run at him. At this point, there are four likely spots where the former Hart Trophy winner could land if he and the Oilers end up parting ways, according to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic. 'Teams like the Los Angeles Kings, with former Oilers GM Ken Holland, are keeping a close eye,' LeBrun wrote. 'If and when McDavid ever leaves, it's a short list of markets that I believe would be a fit for him: L.A., the New York Rangers, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Dallas Stars, etc. It would not be a free-for-all, with 25 teams getting a chance at it.' The Kings already know McDavid all too well after being knocked out of the playoffs by the Oilers in each of the last four postseasons. The Stars could target the three-time league MVP to try to get over the hump that is the Western Conference Finals, where they have lost in each of the last three years. Advertisement Out East, the Blackhawks and the Rangers both did not meet expectations this season and missed out on the postseason, but adding a player like McDavid would immediately get them back into contention for those spots. Right now, it is still very early in the Connor McDavid sweepstakes, and the likely outcome is still that he re-signs with the Oilers. However, if he chooses to leave, the race to get offers in will be hectic and will take over the NHL news cycle.
