"This Isn't Going To Work": Sanjana Ganesan On How Jasprit Bumrah Troubles Her During Interviews
Sanjana Ganesan, wife of star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah, feels his husband has become cricketer after the birth of their son, Angad. Bumrah tied the knot with Sanjana, who is a TV presenter, in 2021. The couple was blessed with a baby boy in September 2023. "When we held him (their baby) in the hospital, my husband was playing the Asia Cup when we were having the baby and then he just flew back. I dont want to stay it but I think he's (Bumrah) become a better cricketer after Angad's come around. When you have that atmosphere that you can come back home to and be at peace you can just switch off and be a dad and a husband, its helpful," Sanjana said on ' Moment of Silence ' podcast.
On being asked to speak on wives of other cricketers, Sanjana suggested that all of them are different.
"They are all different. Even these athletes and players are all in the team they all have different pesonalities. Like you can see it on a field of cricket. So their wives are tailored to their requirements almost. I'll be interviewing a player on the field and then later in the balcony I'll met his wife and I'll be like you know what I get it. It's like yin and yang in almost every situation. You just realise that this is what this guy was missing and this is why she is his wife," he added.
Sanjana also opened up her viral interview with Bumrah after India beat South Africa in the T20 World Cup final last year. Sanjana revealed that while she likes to interview her husband, the star pacer does funny things to distract her.
"Post the World Cup win I was interviewing my husband. I didn't know where to go from a question after a point so I wrapped it up and I've said all the best for the future. I like interviewing him. He's fun to be around. He can tell from my face that I am focusing too much and he is constantly in this endeavor to make me slip out of that role and he'll do funny things and he'll smile or randomly wink and I am like this is not going to work," Sanjana revealed.
Sanjana also shed light on her bond with Bumrah away from the eyes of cameras, calling the latter as her "best gossip buddy".
"He is my best gossip buddy. Like we'll get into bed and we'll get like chocolate and netflix and we'll watch some netflix and switch it off after a while and be like you know what happened at work today...," she added.

Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi's T20 Future All But Over? Report Gives 'No Role' Verdict
Pakistan selectors have ruled out any role for senior players - Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi - in the team's upcoming T20 series against West Indies and Bangladesh. The Pakistani selectors including Aaqib Javed, Aleem Dar, Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq are likely to announce the T20 squad for the series in the West Indies and Bangladesh next week. The two series will be played in July-August. The selectors and head coach Mike Hesson have already conveyed to Babar, Rizwan and Shaheen that they are not required for the upcoming T20 series and should focus more on the ICC World Test Championship and ODIs. Pakistan is due to tour the West Indies in the last week of July to play three T20 internationals and three ODIs. Pakistan, after playing in the Caribbean, fly to Bangladesh for a three match T20 series but suggestions have been made to convert into a five match series in August. Pakistan is also due to host Afghanistan for a T20 series in late August, all in preparation for the Asia Cup in September (not confirmed as yet) and early next year's ICC World T20 Cup. A source close to a national selector said that the panel and Hesson wanted to give a proper run to the new young players in the T20 squad in the series ahead. 'The idea is that if things go south then the selectors can always go back to Babar, Rizwan and Shaheen.' Ironically, Shaheen has now led the Lahore Qalandars franchise to its third Pakistan Super League title in five years. Babar on the other hand is set to announce a first time appearance in the Big Bash for Sydney Sixers later this week after the board gave him and some other players NOCs to play in the event between December 28 and late January. The three seniors have not been picked in the national T20 squad for Pakistan's last two series against New Zealand and Bangladesh and even before that Babar was overlooked for T20 series in Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Asia Cup in limbo as PCB explores alternatives with Afghanistan amid BCCI silence
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly begun exploring alternatives amid the rising non-clarity surrounding the 2025 Asia Cup. The continental tournament has been in limbo since the deadly terrorist attack in Kashmir, where innocent tourists lost their lives, which was followed by a military showdown between India and Pakistan. India are the hosts for the 2025 Asia Cup, which is scheduled to be played in September. It was pre-decided that Pakistan would not travel to India with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) having agreed to the hybrid model, which was accepted ahead of the Champions Trophy earlier this year after the Rohit Sharma-led team was not allowed to travel to Pakistan for the ICC tournament. However, with BCCI remaining silent over the Asia Cup, PCB has initiated talks with the Afghanistan board to schedule a tri-series tournament involving hosts UAE, according to a report in the PTI. This is likely to be finalised only if the Asia Cup is cancelled. 'With the Asia Cup now unlikely to be held in India as originally planned in September due to the simmering relations between Pakistan and India, the PCB is working on another tri-series proposal,' a well-informed source in PCB told the news agency. 'The idea is that if the Asia Cup is moved to the UAE then Pakistan will play a tri-series with Afghanistan and the UAE in Dubai in August replacing the Afghanistan tour to Pakistan,' he explained. The report further stated that PCB has already started conversing with the two boards. 'If the Asia Cup is cancelled or postponed, the PCB wants the Afghanistan and UAE teams to play the tri-series in Pakistan in August,' the source disclosed. Meanwhile, sources confirmed to the PTI that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, also the ACC president, will meet soon to decide on the Asia Cup. 'The Indian cricket board is yet to confirm its willingness to host the Asia Cup at home. So, it remains to be seen when the ACC council meets and makes a call on the future of the Asia Cup which is to be held in the T20 format,' he added.
