The 2025 NBA Draft is filled with lots of talent, and is headlined by Duke Blue Devils phenom Cooper Flagg, who is the presumed No. 1 pick.

The Dallas Mavericks had a shocking win in the draft lottery, and jumped 10 spots to have the right to select Flagg with the No. 1 pick, bringing hype back to Dallas after the Luka Doncic trade.
The NBA has announced that they have invited 13 players thus far to the NBA Draft green room, where top talent will appear with the chance to walk across the stage in the first round.
Among the 13 is Texas Longhorns star guard Tre Johnson, who is a projected top five pick in the draft.

Being one of the few current invitees to the green room is a huge honor for the young guard, who looks to translate his explosive scoring to the NBA.

Should Johnson remain a top five draft selection, he would be the fifth Longhorn to go in the top five of the draft, joining Tristan Thompson, Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge, and LaSalle Thompson.
Texas has not had an NBA Draft selection since 2021, where they saw three players make the jump to the big leagues in Kai Jones, Greg Brown, and Jericho Sims.
In CBS Sports' most recent mock draft, Johnson winds up going No. 3 overall to the Philadelphia 76ers, making him the highest drafted Longhorn since Durant going No. 2 in 2007.
Johnson is counting down the days for his next stage in his basketball career to begin, and Longhorn fans will be tuning into the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday June 25 to see him walk across the stage in Brooklyn, New York.

Charles Barkley slams Knicks amid team's search for next head coach
The New York Knicks' plan to hire a successor to Tom Thibodeau does not appear to be going so well at the start of the NBA offseason. The team was rumored to be interested in former Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach Jordan Ott before he took the Phoenix Suns' head-coaching job and the Cavaliers' associate head coach Johnnie Bryant, who the Knicks have yet to pull the trigger on bringing in. ESPN reported over the last few days the Knicks have tried to reach out to several teams' current head coaches in an attempt to lure them via trade. Among those reportedly on the list were the Dallas Mavericks' Jason Kidd, Minnesota Timberwolves' Chris Finch, Houston Rockets' Ime Udoka and Atlanta Hawks' Quin Snyder. All to no avail. Charles Barkley took a swipe at the Knicks' early offseaon woes. "The Knicks gotta be the stupidest damn people in the world," Barkley said on NBA TV before Game 3 of the NBA Finals. "You don't fire no good coach like that and don't have a plan. I mean, Thibs did a hell of a job, obviously something's going on there. You don't have a plan? And now three coaches have turned you down. You've gotta have a plan, man. And they don't have a plan. I don't know what the hell they're going to do." The Knicks fired Thibodeau after the team reached its farthest spot in the postseason since 2000. New York was 51-31 and has a decent team built around Jalen Brunson. US Open underway with high expectations for Scheffler and a tough test for all
OAKMONT, Pa. (AP) — The first shot of the 125th U.S. Open on Thursday embodied so much of what this championship is about. Matt Vogt, an Indiana dentist who went through 54 holes of qualifying, sent his tee shot soaring into the rough at Oakmont. Vogt, who once caddied at Oakmont before moving on to root canals, managed to use the severe slope of the first fairway for his ball to tumble onto the green for a par. There are high expectations everywhere at the major known as the toughest test in golf — for Scottie Scheffler, the world No. 1; for Bryson DeChambeau, the defending champion; and for everyone to face an Oakmont course reputed to be the toughest in the land. 'Oakmont is relentless,' said John Bodenhamer, the chief championships officer at the USGA who sets up the course. 'There's no let up. It's a grind. That's the U.S. Open.' The USGA is particularly fond of Oakmont, a big reason why the U.S. Open returns to his course for a record 10th time. It has been on the minds of all 156 players — from Scheffler and Masters champion Rory McIlroy to the 15 amateurs, and for the 16 players, like Vogt, who had to make it through 18 holes of local qualifying and then 36 holes. Zac Blair had the first birdie of this championship, holing a putt from nearly 45 feet on the 10th hole after starting his round on the back nine. Alistair Docherty suffered the first of what figures to be plenty of crashes. From just short of the 10th green, it took him two hacks to get it out of the cabbage-like rough, the second chip rolling and rolling some 12 feet by the hole. That's what Oakmont does — thick, gnarly rough and some of the fastest putting surfaces around.
