Smith unanimously re-elected as president of Canadian Olympic Committee
Four-time Olympian Tricia Smith has been unanimously re-elected as president of the Canadian Olympic Committee, the organisation said.
The COC said Smith, a four-time Olympic rower who won a silver medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, was re-elected during the organisation's annual Session Meeting on Sunday.
"I am incredibly honoured to be re-elected President of the COC," Smith said in a press release.
"The work we do at the COC to support Canadian athletes and our national sports is something I am very proud of and I look forward to the next four years."
First elected as COC president in 2015, Smith was re-elected in both 2017 and 2021 and was also elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee in 2016.

"I spoke with Jenni (Hermoso) already in the beginning of the year, we had a conversation," Tome told reporters on Tuesday. "We've done with her what we've done with everyone else. We've valued her season in Tigres, we've spoken with the manager in different times, and we did what we had to do, to assess what we need from the players." Tome said Patri Guijarro, Maite Zubieta, Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmati, Vicky Lopez, Mariona Caldentey and Claudia Pina were all capable of playing in Hermoso's position. "It's difficult to make it to the final list of 23 players," she added. Spain are in Group B of the tournament in Germany, alongside Portugal, Belgium and Italy. PHOTO: AFP JAKARTA, Indonesia – Danish third seed Anders Antonsen beat Taiwanese Chou Tien-chen 22-20, 21-14 to clinch his first Indonesia Open men's singles title on Sunday, while South Korea's An Se-young fought back from a game down to claim her second women's singles crown. The emotional win marked a long-awaited triumph for Antonsen, who had finished as runner-up in 2019 against Chou and again in 2024 against Shi Yuqi, but finally clinched the Super 1000 title on his third appearance in the final. Chou raced to a 15-10 lead in the opening game, but Antonsen clawed his way back to edge it 22-20. The second game was far more one-sided, with Antonsen dominating.
