Upcoming IPO: Sri Lotus Developers and Realty Limited has received a final nod from the capital markets authority, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), to raise ₹ 792 crore through an initial public offering (IPO). The company had filed its IPO papers with SEBI on December 24, 2024.
The firm operates as a real estate developer involved in the construction of residential and commercial properties in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with a specialization in Redevelopment Projects within the Ultra Luxury and Luxury Segments in the western suburbs.
In December, Sri Lotus Developers generated around ₹ 400 crore via a private placement of 26.61 million shares priced at ₹ 150 each. Among the backers, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan acquired approximately 6.7 lakh shares for ₹ 10 crore, while the Shah Rukh Khan Family Trust bought about 6.75 lakh shares for ₹ 10.1 crore. Additional prominent investors include Hrithik Roshan, who purchased 70,000 shares for a little over ₹ 1 crore, and notable investor Ashish Kacholia, who invested in 33.33 lakh shares for ₹ 50 crore.
The company is overseen by promoter Anand Kamalnayan Pandit, who possesses over 24 years of expertise in the real estate sector. The projects undertaken by the company are categorized into three types: Greenfield Projects, Redevelopment Projects, and Joint Development Projects.
For the six-month period ending September 30, 2024, the revenue from operations amounted to ₹ 243.42 crore, while the profit after tax reached ₹ 90.63 crore.
The initial public offering, which has a face value of Re 1, is a new issuance of shares totaling up to ₹ 792 crore, with no offer-for-sale component by existing shareholders.
The proceeds from the fresh share issuance, amounting to ₹ 550 crore, will be utilized for investments in its subsidiaries, namely Richfeel Real Estate Private Limited, Dhyan Projects Private Limited, and Tryksha Real Estate Private Limited, to partially fund the development and construction costs of its ongoing projects, Amalfi, The Arcadian, and Varun, respectively; as well as for general corporate purposes.
Monarch Networth Capital Limited and Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors Limited serve as the book-running lead managers, while KFin Technologies Limited acts as the registrar for the issue.

It also has two parking spaces. The transaction for the property was registered on May 25, which also involved stamp duty payment of Rs. 18.75 lakh and registration charges of Rs. 30,000, documents show. In the second transaction, Rakesh Roshan sold his apartment in a building named Raheja Classique in Andheri West, which was 625 sq ft, and it was sold for Rs. 2.20 crore to three people named Jeevan Bhavanani, Shilpa Wadhwani, and Gaurav Wadhwani. This transaction was done on May 17. The stamp duty for this property was Rs. 13.20 lakh and registration charges of Rs. 30,000 were paid for it. The third property was sold by Hrithik Roshan. It was a 240 sq ft apartment in the same building. The property was sold for Rs. 80 lakh to the same homebuyers mentioned above in the second transaction. Further, the stamp duty for this property was Rs. 4.80 lakh and registration charges of Rs. 30,000. The father-son duo took this step to strengthen their real estate portfolio.

According to Forbes, Sona Comstar, headquartered in Gurugram, runs 12 factories with over 5,000 employees working for the organisation in India, China, Mexico, Serbia, and the US. The global rise in electric vehicle demand has boosted the company's growth. In the year ending March 2025, Sona Comstar earned 35.5 billion rupees (around $412 million), marking a 12% jump in revenue. EV components made up roughly 36% of that income. Sunjay Kapur's death was confirmed by Sona Comstar and the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA). In a statement, they wrote, 'A visionary leader, Kapur played a pivotal role in shaping Sona Comstar into a global mobility technology company built on innovation, sustainability, and purpose.' 'Kapur, a respected leader and visionary, was a passionate advocate for the automotive components industry. Under his stewardship, ACMA witnessed significant progress in global competitiveness and EV readiness,' the statement added. Sunjay Kapur got married to Priya Sachdev, a former model and entrepreneur, after his divorce from Karisma Kapoor in 2016.

If you have a young son or a daughter, investing for their higher education is a no brainer. Some tend to invest in PPF, whereas some have a special love for fixed deposits (FDs). A few prefer to invest in the tax-saving instruments such as National Savings Certificates (NSC), Kisan Vikas Patra or Sakanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY). The more ambitious ones, however, may opt for mutual funds. But is this advisable to invest in mutual funds to create corpus for your child's higher education? Well, it certainly is, advise experts as long as it is done with proper planning and under the right guidance. Let us find more on this. 'Parents are under huge pressure to accumulate a corpus for their kids' education purposes. Education inflation should be considered at 8 to 10% every year. Equity Mutual funds can be good options, along with PPF and SSY (especially for girls), to achieve the required corpus for educational purposes,' says Preeti Zende, a Sebi-registered investment advisor and founder of Apna Dhan Financial Services. Higher education needs tend to arise when the child is 18 (for undergraduate degree) or 21 (for master's degree). This means the time horizon is long enough to invest in mutual fund scheme. So, one can invest in mutual funds across categories to save for your child's higher education. One expert we spoke to recommends that the ideal debt-equity ratio is 30-70 in favour of equity when the time horizon is 7 years or longer. On the other hand, when time horizon is shorter than seven years, one may invest 50-50 in equity and debt. 'When time horizon is long, investors should have a higher allocation to equity,' says Sridharan S., founder of Wealth Ladder Direct. "One can have a good blend of index funds, flexicap and midcap funds in the ratio of 40:40 and 20 or 50:35:15 as per your risk-taking ability," adds Zende. Equity Mutual funds can be good options, along with PPF and SSY (especially for girls), to achieve the required corpus for educational purposes. Moreover, education loan tends to inculcate financial discipline among children. When they spend a huge sum on their education, they should be responsible enough to recover the cost. 'It is recommended to save enough corpus for children's education. As a parent, we should be prepared for the worst case scenario of economy wherein the child fails to get a high paying job right after the degree . But it should be the moral responsibility to the child to pay back the money,' adds Sridharan. It is important to factor in inflation for the number of years which are ahead of the financial goal. For instance, if the financial goal is 10 years away, and inflation grows at 5 percent per annum, then 5 percent for each year should be factored in before arriving at the total sum required. 'It is vital that one considers inflation for the country you intend to go,' adds Sridharan. Apart from mutual funds, one can invest in the currency of the destination country so that spike in currency does not botch up your calculation.
