The initial police and fire units arrived at the scene within four minutes and observed a fully engulfed barn. The flames tore through the now-blackened building next to a home.
A woman told FOX6 off-camera her father died in the fire, but she couldn't share much more. The Caledonia Police Department is working with the medical examiner's office on the positive identification of the deceased person located within the burned-out structure.
What they're saying
"It's really tragic. I can see here the fire burned really hot," Werner added.
And neighbors say this fire got so big and bright overnight, they were able to see it from down the street.
"I got dressed and walked over around 3:15 in the morning. I noticed there was a building on fire," said Michael Uher. "By the time I left around 3:30 it was practically out."
Racine County law enforcement and fire crews remained on the scene mid-morning, trying to piece together what went wrong.
Neighbors like Michael Uher have questions.
"Well, if there is anything possibly suspicious about it or not," Uher added.

Ajax striker Brian Brobbey was the ‘target of violent extortion threats'

The Ajax striker Brian Brobbey has been the target of violent extortion threats involving arson, explosions and a shooting, according to reports in the Netherlands. Het Parool reports that the attacks on Brobbey came after he allegedly refused to pay €150,000 to an Amsterdam criminal who claimed to have 'solved a problem' for him. There followed a series of incidents from fireworks that were pushed through his mother-in-law's letterbox, to an explosive detonated near Brobbey's car, his sister-in-law's car set ablaze and a close friend of Brobbey's, who had reportedly tried to intervene on his behalf, being shot and seriously wounded. Het Parool claims Brobbey rejected offers of help from the Amsterdam club, insisting he would deal with the coercion himself. The police found no evidence that Brobbey had paid any money to Jeymon A, who was sentenced in November 2024 to 10 years in prison for the attempted murder of Brobbey's friend, firearms offences, and drug trafficking. Brobbey, who had attracted interest from Premier League clubs, saw his form dip dramatically. Last season, the Dutchman scored just four league goals, a stark contrast to 18 the previous campaign, and could leave Ajax this summer. Brobbey's lawyer told Het Parool that his client has declined to comment while Ajax would not be drawn on players' private affairs. Lawyers for Jeymon A. said there is no evidence their client was involved in the extortion.

Suspect arrested in Brevard County after trying to bomb state radio tower, deputies say

The Brief A suspect has been taken into custody in Brevard County after deputies say he attempted to bomb a state radio tower. Deputies say the incident was isolated and not an act of terrorism. Officials are asking locals to avoid the area of Deering Parkway Road and use alternative routes while they investigate. BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - A suspect has been taken into custody in Brevard County after deputies say he attempted to bomb a state radio tower. Officials say the incident was isolated and not an act of terrorism. What we know Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said deputies responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle on Friday in the area of Deering Parkway Road. The vehicle was trying to pull away when deputies arrived at the scene. A number of units, including the bomb unit, were seen on Deering Parkway Road between Interstate 95 and U.S. 1. Ivey said the vehicle's driver told a story that "did not match what was going on," causing investigators to search the vehicle and discover an explosive device that the sheriff said was a possible pipe bomb. Ivey said the driver of the vehicle appeared to be angry over employment issues and planned to target one of the state radio towers. "The individual has made some statements about getting fired and things of that nature," Ivey said. Ivey said the incident was isolated and not an act of terrorism. He said the suspect is now in custody. What we don't know It is currently unclear what employment issues led up to the suspect attempting to target the radio tower with the explosive device. Officials have not yet released the identity of the suspect taken into custody. FOX 35 has reached out to investigators for more information on the incident. What's next Officials said Deering Parkway Road, between I-95 and U.S. 1, will continue to be closed for a few hours while the investigation continues. What you can do Authorities are asking locals to avoid the area of Deering Parkway Road and use alternative routes while they investigate.
