Fi's AI-powered dog collar lets you monitor pet behavior via Apple Watch
Smart pet tech company Fi's new AI collar allows dog owners to monitor their pooch's movements, health, and habits via their Apple Watch. The Fi Series 3 Plus launched on Monday with new behaviour detection features, Apple Watch app integration, and improved GPS tracking compared to its predecessor.
Fi says the Series 3 Plus can capture 'meaningful changes in a dog's behavior' with 80 percent accuracy. In addition to steps and sleep tracking, the new collar monitors for barking, licking, scratching, eating, and drinking habits to flag any trends and irregularities over time. The aim is to help users to be more proactive about potentially concerning changes in their dog's health, but it's worth noting that there are reports about smart wearables providing more anxiety than peace of mind.
The GPS tracking signal sensitivity has been doubled compared to the previous model to provide more accurate location tracking, according to Fi. The companion app that allows owners to monitor their pets' location and activity is now available on Apple Watch with all the same 'interactivity and intelligence' features of the mobile version. A new AI-powered document analysis feature has also been added to the app that can pull health information from vet records, bills, or insurance documents.
The Series 3 Plus collar otherwise carries over some familiar features from previous models. Fi says it carries a 'fully waterproof' IP68 rating tested in up to 50 meters of salt water, a rechargeable battery that lasts three months on a single charge, and a built-in light for nighttime visibility. The collar comes in five sizes and four colors: yellow, blue, pink, or gray. Pricing is inclusive of the app features and subscription-based, starting at $14 per month with no additional cost for the collar hardware.

Snapchat finally has a watchOS app after a decade
There's finally a Snapchat app for watchOS , bringing the social media platform to Apple's line of wearables. This has been a long time coming, given that the first Apple Watch graced our wrists over a decade ago . The app lets users preview incoming messages and reply by using the keyboard, scribbling with a finger, voice dictation or sending out an emoji. Apple Watch wearers could already preview a Snapchat message by enabling them on an iPhone, but there wasn't a way to respond until now. Snapchat says the app will be useful when doing things like alerting friends when arriving at a restaurant or when sending out a quick reply during a run. A company representative told us that it's good for people who want to "keep active conversations going while they're on the go." They also indicated that previewing a message on an Apple Watch will not mark it as "read" on the mobile or web app, as it only shows the first 100 characters. The app cannot be used to view images or videos, but the company plans to "evolve the experience over time." Despite coming ten years after the Apple Watch first launched, Snapchat has still outpaced many of its rivals. There isn't a dedicated Facebook app for the wearable, or a WhatsApp release. Facebook Messenger did have an app once upon a time, but it was pulled. Snapchat's watchOS app comes just ahead of this year's WWDC event. Rumors indicate that Apple is planning on some major announcements throughout the event, including a complete redesign of its various operating systems and new Apple Intelligence features that I'm sure everyone will just love .

Snapchat launches an Apple Watch app globally
Snapchat announced on Thursday that it's launching a watchOS app to allow Apple Watch users to access the social network on their wrists. With this new app, users can now use Snapchat across mobile, web, tablets, and Apple Watch. Users can now preview an incoming message and also reply using the keyboard, Scribble, Dictation, or an emoji. The company says the new app will allow users to do things like quickly let their friend know they're 'here' when meeting up at a restaurant or glance down and send a quick reply while on a run. While you could already preview Snapchat messages on your Apple Watch by enabling them on your iPhone, there wasn't a way to respond to them until now. Image Credits:Snap 'The number of devices we use in our daily lives has grown,' Snap wrote in a blog post. 'Already we're seeing our community enjoy using Snapchat across surfaces including tablet and web, in addition to mobile, and this builds on our commitment to making Snapchat available across all the devices you use, including wearables.' Thursday's announcement marks a shift in thinking for Snapchat, as Snap CEO Evan Spiegel said years ago that he wasn't too keen on the Apple Watch's small screen, noting that people would probably prefer to look a picture on their phone, rather than their Watch. Snapchat is now focused on using its watchOS app to enable users to quickly respond to messages, not to view images or videos. With this launch, Snapchat has outpaced rival messaging apps like Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp by releasing a dedicated watchOS app.
