Indiana Fever Make Caitlin Clark Request After Recent Setback
Indiana Fever Make Caitlin Clark Request After Recent Setback originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever have, once again, fallen below .500 to begin the 2025 WNBA season, falling to the Los Angeles Sparks 85-75 on their home court. Advertisement Now, the Fever will cap off a back-to-back with a Friday night matchup against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. But the Fever could be without All-WNBA point guard Caitlin for a second straight game. Clark was ruled out for the Sparks game after suffering a groin injury late in Tuesday's win over the Seattle Storm. After playing every game in 2024, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star has now missed six games this season. Indiana is 2-4 in those contests. Yet, even with Clark out, the Fever remain supportive of her WNBA All-Star campaign. On Friday, the final day when All-Star fan voting counts twice, Indiana took to social media to request fans to go vote for Clark. Advertisement "almost as sweet as her stepback 🍪😏," the Fever wrote on X. "votes count DOUBLE today, send Caitlin Clark to #WNBAAllStar2025" Clark initially missed five games earlier in the year due to a quad strain. Upon her return on June 14, she went through a three-game stretch of poor shooting, going 1-of-23 (4.3%) from 3-point range before suffering her new setback. Still, Clark has remained one of the top WNBA players over the entire season. Through nine games played, she is averaging 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game. She is tied for the most assists per game in the WNBA with Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas Indiana Fever guard Caitlin ClarkGrace Smith/INDIANAPOLIS STAR-Imagn Images The Fever will face the Wings on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Why Did Diddy's Defense Attorney Discuss 'Handsome' Michael B. Jordan During Closing Arguments?
Diddy's attorney told the jury that Cassie was "a beautiful, sexy person" — and was not sexually victimized by Diddy He brought up the relationship between Cassie and Michael B Jordan He further said Ventura has "sexual confidence," seemingly in attempt to undermine prosecution's claims that she had been coerced into sexual activities with other menSean 'Diddy' Combs' defense attorney attempted to convince the jury that his former girlfriend — and the prosecution's star witness, Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura — was not a victim, even referencing actor Michael B. Jordan in his closing arguments. Combs' attorney Marc Agnifilo was animated, often walking back and forth in the courtroom, as he rested his case before a Manhattan jury on Friday, June 27. He pushed back against the prosecution's claims that Ventura and another of Combs' former girlfriends, who testified under the pseudonym 'Jane,' were sex trafficked. He tried to convince the jury that both Ventura and Jane willingly participated in the swinger-style lifestyle, and were not victims of coercion. "God bless her. She's a beautiful, sexy person," Agnifilo said about Ventura. When Ventura wasn't dating Combs, "she was with Michael B. Jordan, the most handsome man in the world," Agnifilo said, further claiming Ventura has "sexual confidence." "She is not clutching her pearls," he added. Combs' high-profile trial, where a jury must decide if he is guilty of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, is nearing its end after weeks of testimony from his personal and professional associates. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges. If you are experiencing domestic violence, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233, or go to All calls are toll-free and confidential. Dream's Brittney Griner Makes Unexpected Personal Move
Dream's Brittney Griner Makes Unexpected Personal Move originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Brittney Griner and the Atlanta Dream have opened the 2025 WNBA season atop the Eastern Conference standings, sitting in second place with a 10-5 record. Advertisement While the Dream have found success this season, Griner has taken a step back in her first year with the team, allowing star teammates like Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard to lead the way. The 6-foot-9 center is averaging 9.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game through 13 games - career lows in her 11-year WNBA tenure. Even so, Griner appears content in her new role and continues to engage with fans, including Australian gold medalist skateboarder Arisa Trew. Atlanta Dream center Brittney GrinerDale Zanine-Imagn Images On Friday, the X Games' official Instagram account posted a video of Griner swapping jerseys with the skateboarder, a move that's more commonly seen between basketball players. Advertisement Griner even signed the jersey with a personal message for Trew. "Wow, this is so cool," Trew said as she received the signed Griner jersey. "Thank you so much, Brittney. This is so cool." Trew, from Cairns, Queensland, Australia, is only 15 years old and has already earned nine gold medals in international competition, including the 2024 Paris Olympics (1 gold medal), the World Championships in Rome (1) and three different X Games events (7). That total includes her most recent win at last weekend's X Games in Osaka. She also became the youngest-ever from her country to win an Olympic gold medal. Advertisement "Who said jersey swaps need to be in the same sport?" the X Games captioned its post. "Brittney Griner is a huge fan of @arisa_trew and sent her a signed jersey. So naturally, we made Arisa a #XGames jersey to send back 🏀🛹" Griner and the Dream look to avoid a two-game losing streak as they begin a four-game homestand with a matchup against Napheesa Collier and the WNBA-leading Minnesota Lynx.
