A SKYDIVER dropped his iPhone while at 10,000ft — and was stunned to then find it without a scratch.
Footage shows the device fall from Casey Flay's pocket as he leapt out of a plane for a training session.

It then hurtled to the ground — protected by just a £10 case — as Casey, 27, sailed down in a wingsuit.
Engineer Casey said: 'There's not a scratch on it — it's absolutely amazing.
'It landed in a pile of leaves that cushioned the impact.'
He had not even realised it was missing until he was back on terra firma and packing his kit away in Dunkeswell, Devon.

He was then able to use the Find My Phone app to trace it three miles away — with a half-hour trek into the woods to retrieve it.

Casey, who is training for the Wingsuit Flying Championships in August in the Czech Republic, went on: 'It narrowly missed landing in a swamp.
'I was so lucky.
'It doesn't make any sense but I'm so happy to have it back.
'My whole life's on that phone, I use it for banking and everything.

'I'll keep a closer eye on it in future.'
Apple does not specify how high a fall the iPhone can survive — but urges users to 'handle with care'.

June 9 (Reuters) - Apple (AAPL.O), opens new tab unveiled upgrades to operating systems across its devices on Monday, including overhauled visual elements, a fresh naming system for software updates and new features in its Apple Intelligence suite. At its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, the company also said it would open up the underlying technology it uses for Apple Intelligence to developers. These are some of the key announcements from the event: Apple is rolling out a new "Liquid Glass" design language across its software, bringing sleek translucence and a glass-like shine to app interfaces. Inspired by visionOS on the Vision Pro augmented reality device, the design adapts to light and dark modes and reacts dynamically to movement using real-time rendering. The new design will be implemented in buttons, sliders, media controls and larger elements such as tab bars and sidebars, along with matching redesigned toolbars and navigation. Apple is releasing updated Application Programming Interfaces so that developers can begin adapting their apps ahead of the new design rollout later this year. This year's major iOS release would have originally been called iOS 19, following the usual sequence after iOS 18. However, Apple is now changing its naming convention: future iOS versions will be numbered based on the year following their release—similar to how car manufacturers name new models. Several parts of the operating systems are getting a major visual overhaul as part of the redesign. The Phone app now includes call screening, allowing it to answer calls or wait on hold for you. The Messages app is also getting updates that include customizable chat backgrounds. Apple also said it would add generative AI to its Xcode coding tools that can help developers write code, test it and resolve errors. The company said it would add other coding models such as ChatGPT to Xcode. New additions to the operating system include Live Translation, which uses on-device AI models to translate conversations in real time, in text messages, phone calls or FaceTime. Apple Pay is also getting Apple Intelligence integration, enabling it to track orders even for purchases made outside Apple Pay. Meanwhile, Image Playground is getting a boost with a new feature that allows users to generate images with the help of OpenAI's ChatGPT. Apple will now allow developers to tap into its on-device foundational model for their own apps. Through the new Foundation Models framework, developers can build intelligent, privacy-focused experiences that work offline too. Apple will also let users learn more about what's on their iPhone screens via Visual Intelligence. Users can search across Google, Etsy and other supported apps to find visually similar images or products. If the tool detects that you're viewing an event, iOS 26 will suggest adding it to your calendar. Now Apple will gather info from callers, and then share that detail with you. So your iPhone can ask the caller for their name and why they're calling – and then tell you the answer that they give. Then you can decide if you want to pick up the call or totally ignore it. CUT OFF! Sadly, not everyone will be able to claim this bonanza of tech tricks. Anyone with a very old iPhone will miss out on the whole lot. EXPERT VIEW: 'ACTION-PACKED' APPLE EVENT Here's the expert view from Paolo Pescatore, industry analyst at PP Foresight... "Another action-packed event with Apple delivering a slew of new features for its platforms," Paolo said. "Overall, it looks like Apple has done enough in what promises to be a year of transition as it further builds out its AI capabilities. "There was plenty of Apple Intelligence under the hood. New and subtle features that build upon its relentless focus on privacy and security such as screening of calls and text messages will be sought after and widely used by users. "While it might seem, others are leading the AI race, it is not a sought-after feature among users and there's no revenue uplift (for now). Considering the negative perception, Apple needs to tread carefully not to frustrate and disappoint its loyal base of (iPhone) users. "With these latest updates providing a more coherent feel, Apple remains in an enviable position given its large installed base of users. The subtle addition of Apple Intelligence across key services will help grow awareness and provide users with confidence to drive further engagement. The tight integration between hardware, software and services really stands out with this latest move. "A unified software experience is paramount as more users buy and use a slew of Apple devices. This ensures a more comfortable look and feel driving further stickiness among users. All of which underline the growing importance of software and services at a time when people are looking to keep devices for longer. More importantly owning more devices from Apple. "The biggest visual change and redesign in years will coincide with a new iPhone later in the year. This will be significant as Apple is providing something new at a time when it is challenging to differentiate with a sea of sameness. Significantly it will put pressure on rivals as it makes their software a bit out of date. "People will feel like they have something new for free with a software upgrade. Noticeably, this will be a very different software update and one they will remember unlike others. "The name change is a very big deal which suggests a similar move might happen for the new iPhone to provide more consistency for users. "Other new features like live translate while available on rival platforms are much needed and will resonate with its customer base. "New gaming app follows in the footsteps of Apple TV in being a one-stop-shop for users gaming needs. This suggests a move to make bigger investments in gaming as others are doing. It represents a key battleground among providers. But the company is not resting on its laurels in TV with the new OS redesign to provide a more intuitive watching experience for users and families alike.
