SiLC Technologies Unveils First Public Demonstration of Revolutionary Class 1 Laser Line Scanner at Automate 2025

Business Wire12-05-2025

DETROIT--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AUTOMATE SHOW BOOTH #9307 – SiLC Technologies, Inc. (SiLC) is at Automate 2025 this week to publicly debut its Eyeonic Trace™. A revolutionary Class 1 Laser Line Scanner, the new Eyeonic Trace is based on SiLC's chip-integrated coherent FMCW LiDAR technology, providing millimeter accurate dimensions on very low reflectivity objects at a blazing fast 1M points/sec from distances as far away as 10 meters.
"Our Eyeonic Trace brings game changing levels of performance to industrial automation," said Dr. Mehdi Asghari, CEO of SiLC Technologies.

An all-in-one inspection and measurement tool, the Eyeonic Trace operates at 1550nm and performs reliably in any lighting condition. Its Class 1 eye-safe laser allows it to be used around factory workers without the need for restricted areas or special protective equipment. Measuring only 200 x 135 x 75 millimeters, the Eyeonic Trace easily mounts above a conveyor belt, assembly line, or on the side of a robotic arm. Because the Eyeonic Trace scanner has a long operating range, it can be placed at almost any height above a conveyor belt to accurately measure large boxes and small items just a few millimeters tall. The long working distance makes it possible for Eyeonic Trace to measure very large objects like cars or airplane panels or be used safely away from very hot objects.
The scanner is engineered to deliver consistent performance across a wide range of industrial settings and applications, including:
Accurate dimensioning of boxes moving at high speed on conveyer belts
Volume measurement of loads on conveyor belts or in vehicles (truck/train cars)
Measurement of large objects like pallets when used on the end of a robotic arm
Scanning of road surface or rails for inspection
Monitoring of conveyor belts used in mining where visibility is poor
Accurately identify if an object has fallen off of a palette or vehicle presenting a safety hazard
The global warehouse automation market is set to grow from $21 billion in 2023 to $91 billion by 2033, fueled by rising labor costs, faster fulfillment demands, and the push for efficiency. The Eyeonic Trace meets these needs with integrated velocity detection to scan items on conveyor belts moving up to 4 meters per second – more than twice as fast as current systems - boosting throughput and enhancing quality control.
"Our Eyeonic Trace brings game changing levels of performance to industrial automation enabling our customers to accurately size packages for shipment, eliminate damaged goods, inspect for quality, and improve conveyor belt speeds for better efficiency," said Dr. Mehdi Asghari, CEO of SiLC Technologies. "And it does all of this in a completely eye-safe solution, whether it's day or night, indoors or in direct sunlight. We're looking forward to showcasing these capabilities live at Automate 2025, where attendees can experience firsthand how Eyeonic Trace is redefining performance in real-world automation scenarios.'
Key Features of the Eyeonic Trace
Unparalleled Measurement Accuracy: Measures depth of objects with millimeter precision (1/32 inch) from 10 cm to 10 m distances.
Exceptional Flexibility: Operates effectively across a wide dynamic range, accommodating objects with diverse reflective properties.
Ambient Light Immunity: Functions reliably indoors (dim warehouses) or outdoors (bright sunlight); the scanner is unaffected by ambient light.
Unrivaled Performance: Eyeonic Trace redefines the benchmark for performance with capabilities that far surpass any existing line scanner.
Advanced Sensing Technology: Powered by SiLC's proprietary Eyeonic Vision Sensor with a 72° field of view and integrated silicon photonics for accurate measurement of large objects in industrial environments.
Attendees of Automate 2025 - the largest robotics and automation event in the Americas - can experience the Eyeonic Trace firsthand at SiLC's booth #9307 on the show floor. Demonstrations will highlight the scanner's speed, precision, and adaptability in real-world automation scenarios. Please email contact@silc.com to schedule a meeting or simply stop by the booth during the show.

Cameco Reports Expected Increase in Its Share of Westinghouse 2025 Adjusted EBITDA

All amounts in Canadian dollars unless specified otherwise SASKATOON, Saskatchewan, June 06, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cameco (TSX: CCO; NYSE: CCJ) reports an expected increase of approximately $170 million (US) in our 49% equity share of Westinghouse Electric Company's (Westinghouse) 2025 second quarter and annual adjusted EBITDA. The expected increase is tied to Westinghouse's participation in the construction project for two nuclear reactors at the Dukovany power plant in the Czech Republic. This expected increase will be taken into consideration in determining the 2025 distribution payable by Westinghouse to Cameco. In addition to the increase in adjusted EBITDA in 2025, we expect significant financial benefits for Westinghouse, as a subcontractor, over the term of the Dukovany construction project and related to the provision of the fuel fabrication services required for both reactors for a specified period. The outlook for Westinghouse's compound annual growth rate for adjusted EBITDA remains 6% to 10% over the next five years, excluding the impact of the expected $170 million (US) increase in its 2025 adjusted EBITDA. Cameco owns a 49% interest in Westinghouse and its partner, Brookfield Renewable Partners, owns the remaining 51%. Caution about forward-looking informationThis news release includes statements and information about our expectations for the future, which we refer to as forward-looking information. Forward-looking information is based on our current views, which can change significantly, and actual results and events may be significantly different from what we currently expect. Examples of forward-looking information in this news release include our expectations regarding: Westinghouse's participation in the Dukovany power plant construction project; an increase in Westinghouse's adjusted EBITDA; Westinghouse taking this increase into consideration in determining the 2025 distribution payable to Cameco; the financial benefits for Westinghouse, as subcontractor, over the term of the Dukovany construction project and the expected future growth in Westinghouse's compound annual growth rate for adjusted EBITDA. Material risks that could lead to different results include the risk that Westinghouse is not able to participate in the Dukovany construction project on a basis that achieves the currently expected benefits to Westinghouse for any reason, or that Cameco may not derive the expected increases in its share of Westinghouse's adjusted EBITDA, or that Westinghouse does not achieve the expected future annual growth in adjusted EBITDA. In presenting the forward-looking information, we have made material assumptions which may prove incorrect about Westinghouse's participation in the Dukovany construction project and related potential benefits to Westinghouse, and continuing growth in Westinghouse's compound annual growth rate for adjusted EBITDA. Non-IFRS MeasuresAdjusted EBITDA is a measure that does not have a standardized meaning or a consistent basis of calculation under International Financial Reporting Standards (a non-IFRS measure). Westinghouse's adjusted EBITDA is defined as its net income, adjusted for the impact of certain expenses, costs, charges or benefits incurred in such period which are either not indicative of underlying business performance or that impact the ability to assess the operating performance of its business. For more information regarding our use of this non-IFRS measure see our most recent annual and quarterly Management's Discussion and Analysis.
