Battlemage build
is there for you if you have ever wanted to fire a fireball and slash at somebody with a sword while playing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This combination of magic and melee forces you to be a fan. But for it to work you need to set things up from scratch.
How to choose the right path?
To build a great Battlemage, the race and birthsign are relevant. The Bretons are the best choice because they have strong magic resistance and start off with high Magicka compared to most other races. For The Mage Birthsign, it gives some extra Magicka with no downside which represents one more spellcasting experience early on.
Not to use any preset Battlemage class in the game, better would be to create your Battlemage class. Choose Magic as the primary focus to level up your magic skills faster. Then select Intelligence (for more Magicka) and Endurance (for more health and stamina) to be your key attributes. This keeps you strong in both spellcasting and physical combat.

The Battlemage is the hybrid between melee combat and spellcasting, and the choice of magic is:
Destruction
: Your most obvious form of inflicting damage through fire, frost, or lightning.
Conjuration
: You can either summon creatures or weapons into your battle.
Restoration
: You can heal yourself and raise your stats.
Illusion
: To silence enemies' voices or make you invisible.
Mysticism
: For handy support spells such as Detect Life and Soul Trap.
For physical combat, you may select:
Blades or Blunt
: Either of the weapon types you fancy.
Heavy Armor
: Since you'll be in the thick of battle, you'll need really strong protection for this.
You can include Alchemy in your build, too. Creating potions for healing, Magicka, or buffs will keep you in the game longer-in tough fights especially.
Ways to play the Battlemage
Battlemages do best when they can easily switch spells and weapons. Start combat with spells that weaken your foe, and then finish them off with a weapon. Use Conjuration to call in allies or create a magic sword when the situation calls for it. Then, restore again, after your health gets a little low.
Wear heavy armor for the first few levels-it'll make your spells weaker for a while, but that penalty disappears as your armor skill levels up. Hang in there; that extra defense really makes it worthwhile.
Find Heavy Armor with enchantments that give benefits to Magicka regeneration or resistances from magic. For weapons, use those which can be enchanted or which have built-in magical effects; fire damage or draining health are good examples. Just be sure to recharge the enchanted weapons using soul gems.

The Battlemage isn't an easy starter build, but once you figure out how to manage your Magicka and Health, it will be one of the strongest play styles in the game. The hero is one who can burst into battle, take hits, summon monsters, and light the sky at the same time.
