Fourth man charged after death of man who was trying to be ‘mediator' in fight
A fourth man has been charged after the fatal stabbing of a man who was trying to be a 'mediator' in a fight.
Emergency services were called to the scene outside Hounslow Muslim Centre on Hanworth Road, west London, at 2.21pm on Sunday, where the 22-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds.
Paramedics from London Ambulance Service treated the man, named by the Metropolitan Police as Dara Omar, from Brentford, west London, before he was taken to hospital where he later died.
A murder investigation was launched and a fourth man has now been charged.
Mohammed Ali, 35, from Hounslow, is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Saturday charged with murder, the Metropolitan Police said.
Three others also charged in connection with the incident appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Friday.
They were remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Monday.
They are: Kaywan Warzier Karim, 27, of Walnut Tree Road, Hounslow, who was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on Wednesday; Tania Hamza, 33, of Kingsley Road, Hounslow, who was charged on Thursday with violent disorder and assisting an offender; and Aziz Hama, 31, of Selbourne Ave, Hounslow, who was charged on Thursday with assisting an offender.

An error by Fredericton police caused three murder cases to collapse Friday as the Crown stayed charges against five people. Erickson offered no specifics when addressing Justice Richard Petrie beyond saying that the province's attorney general was exercising its authority to seek a stay. But defence lawyer Nathan Gorham told the judge that the development was the "result of an insurmountable evidentiary issue" with a police agency involved in one of the murder investigations. Moments after the charges were stayed, ending the cases, the Fredericton Police Force issued a statement about the development. "The reason for the stay of proceedings is the result of an 'insurmountable evidentiary issue' linked directly to an error initiated, discovered and subsequently reported to the Crown by the Fredericton Police Force," Chief Gary Forward said in the statement. "Our error has further detrimentally impacted on a similar major crime investigation by a partner agency." The nature of the error was not disclosed. Lawyers for the accused told reporters it was an unprecedented development. Family members of the victims sobbed in court and outside it, with Donelan's sister expressing disbelief. "We have no answers," Jessica Donelan told reporters outside the Burton courthouse. "There's no transparency, there's no accountability. It's just, it is what it is and this is what you have to deal with." Review sought The police chief's statement said the force takes responsibility for the outcome. The force investigated Markey's death. "We cannot begin to gauge or comprehend the profound effect this will have on the victims' families and those closest to the investigations," Forward said in the statement. "It is, however, our obligation to take full responsibility for the issue and apologize for what has led to these stays of proceedings." The police force said it would seek an independent review of what unfolded. Erickson left the courthouse without speaking to reporters. Sarah Bustard, a spokesperson for the province's Justice Department, said in an email the Crown's office had no further comment. The RCMP, which investigated Donelan's death, expressed confidence in its investigation. "The N.B. RCMP respects the decision of Crown prosecutors and expresses sincere condolences to the family of Brandon Donelan who are continuing to seek justice," RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Victim ID'd in fatal stabbing at North York homeless shelter: police
Toronto police have identified the man who was killed in a stabbing at a North York homeless shelter over the weekend. On Sunday, officers responded to a stabbing at a shelter in the area of Wilson Avenue and Beverly Hills Drive, according to news release from Toronto police. Two men in their 50s were stabbed in the incident, police said. Both were taken to hospital, where one later died. On Friday, police identified the deceased as Roger Borges, 53, of Toronto. A 72-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted murder and first-degree murder, police said. He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday. Police said the stabbing was the 17th homicide in Toronto this year. Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.

Man in hospital after brutal public shooting
A man is in hospital after he was shot while sitting in a parked car in western Sydney last night. The shooting happened in Penrith, NSW Police say, just before 10pm. Emergency services were called to Hickeys Lane on reports of a shooting, where police officers found a man, believed to be in his 20s, with a gunshot wound. 'The man was treated by paramedics for a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital for further treatment,' the police said. 'His injuries are described as non-life threatening.' An investigation into the circumstances of the incident has commenced. A short time later, reports emerged of a burning vehicle in the nearby suburb of Claremont Meadows, which the police believe could be linked to the shooting. 'The fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW personnel,' the police said. 'Officers from Nepean Police Area Command have established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined by specialist officers. 'While investigations into both incidents are in their infancy, one line of inquiry being examined is that both incidents are linked.'
