Approximately 60% of the restoration work, including painting and woodwork, was completed. Key alumni members KH Sharif, Harish, Anil Kumar, C Mahendra, Razak, Abdul Aziz, Arun Kumar, Dhanu Kaverappa, Vincent, Shashikumar, and Kamal Haasan, alongside local donors from Suntikoppa and neighbouring areas, committed to elevating the school's standards to match private institutions. On Jan 19, 2025, the group organised an event, bringing together past and present teachers from the primary, secondary, and undergraduate colleges. The alumni association hosted a Guru Vandana ceremony and reunion, demonstrating their commitment to the school's development. The alumni association has stepped forward to address both infrastructure development and the declining enrolment of students. Recent years saw a dip in the number of students getting admissions across both institutions, despite qualified teaching staff, largely due to the competition from private schools. The alumni association plans to distribute free books to students in June, highlighting their dedication to educational support. Government schools alumni association president MS Sunil said, "Alumni members showed particular dedication during the renovation, regularly assisting with construction requirements and supporting workers, demonstrating remarkable commitment to the project." Suntikoppa GMP School headmistress Geetha said, "The alumni's recent efforts in renovating the school is truly commendable." Alumni association's vice-president RH Sharif said, "This renovation represents our modest contribution to the institution that shaped our lives. Our association remains committed to supporting the school's needs."

Animals up for adoption at Tata zoo
Jamshedpur: Animal lovers keen to become wildlife guardians can adopt tigers, lions, leopards, crocodiles, and birds at the Tata Steel Zoological Park, popularly known as Tata Zoo. Fostering a personal connection with the animal, the zoo management designed an adoption programme for individuals, which was launched in June. The corporate adoption programme has been in place for some time. The adoption covers feed, maintenance, and veterinary care, ensuring the well-being of the animal species. However, the daily care of the adopted animals will be managed by the zoo officials. "The adoption programme will help in our ongoing conservation initiatives. Besides, the programme aims to foster a personal connection between the guardian and the chosen animal," said Tata Zoo deputy director, Naim Akhtar. Enthusiasts can adopt an animal by donating money ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lakh and above for a period of one year or five years. Enthusiasts will be entertained on a first-come, first-served basis for the big cat species, as well as other animals that are currently fewer in number. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Furthermore, prospective guardians can adopt more than one animal at any given time. People who adopt an animal can enjoy free visits to the zoo with their family and spend time connecting with their chosen resident animal. Besides, the adoption programme provides donors access to unique experiences and special recognitions. Tata Zoo is home to over 400 animals representing 50 different species, including mammals, birds, and reptiles. In April this year, the zoo inaugurated a glass enclosure for the animals, which is drawing crowds in numbers.
