ULA rocket launch in Florida: Map shows visibility from Tennessee, Georgia, New Jersey, Massachusetts
Billionaire Jeff Bezos' Project Kuiper: Round two.
United Launch Alliance will launch the second batch of Amazon satellites into space − and it's possible people can see the Atlas V rocket far outside of Florida.
When ULA launches its massive rocket, depending on cloud cover, Floridians (and visitors) as far as Jacksonville, Cape Coral and Miami could see it light up the sky after liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Visibility from most of Florida is possible, according to ULA.
What's on board ULA Atlas V? Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is launching Project Kuiper, a global network of satellites, to compete with SpaceX CEO-billionaire Elon Musk and Starlink satellites.
It begins with the second-ever launch of the Amazon Project Kuiper production satellites, courtesy of the ULA Atlas V rocket. Online, the mission has been called the "Amazon rocket launch" or "the Amazon rocket launch from Florida,' but it's accurate to call it the Amazon satellite rocket launch or Amazon-ULA rocket launch.
Business is booming: Florida's Space Coast is one of fastest-growing economies in U.S.
In Florida, we can best see this moment in person, particularly if you're anywhere on the Space Coast (Melbourne, Florida area), the Fun Coast (Daytona Beach area) or the Treasure Coast (Vero Beach, Jensen Beach and Fort Pierce).
The Amazon satellite rocket launch is extra special because of the potential to see it in other states. In the past, readers have submitted photos or posted on social platforms pictures of SpaceX Falcon Heavy, which is made up of three Falcon 9 rocket first stages, visible from Myrtle Beach. Other rocket launches have been spotted in New Jersey and Georgia.
ULA's Atlas V rocket should be visible outside of Florida pending weather and clouds.
Below is information on ULA's powerful rocket, the Atlas V, how to watch the Amazon satellite rocket launch and suggestions on where to watch it from Florida and beyond.
Rocket launches in Florida (a big list): Here's a roundup of all 2025 missions from Cape Canaveral and NASA's Kennedy Space Center
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is launching Project Kuiper, a global constellation of 3,232 broadband satellites that will compete for customers with SpaceX founder Elon Musk's sprawling Starlink network. It began with the first-ever launch of Project Kuiper production satellites, courtesy of the massive United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket, on April 28, 2025 (see photos above).
Rocket launches from the Space Coast of Florida − either from NASA's Kennedy Space Center or Cape Canaveral Space Force Station − have significantly increased within the past few years, with the bulk of launches from SpaceX and Starlink satellites.
But Bezos' Amazon satellite rocket launch, the premiere was known as KA-01 mission, will "deploy all of the satellites safely in orbit, which means they can independently maneuver and communicate with our team on the ground," according to an Amazon news release.
"Once the satellites have successfully separated from the rocket, they will begin a series of mostly automated steps to activate onboard systems and use their electric propulsion systems to gradually ascend to their assigned orbit of 392 miles (630 km)," the release said. "The satellites will travel at a speed of more than 17,000 miles per hour (27,359 km per hour) on orbit and circle the planet approximately every 90 minutes."
All told, ULA will launch eight Atlas V and 38 Vulcan rockets on Project Kuiper missions. The Amazon initiative has also contracted with SpaceX, Blue Origin and Arianespace, upping the total to 80-plus pending launches.
The Monday, June 16, 2025, Amazon satellite rocket launch from Cape Canaveral would be the second for Project Kuiper.
A two-hour Amazon rocket launch window is scheduled for 1:25 p.m. EDT Monday, June 16, 2025, from Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Equipped with five side-mounted rocket boosters, the Atlas V will lift the $10 billion internet constellation's second set of satellites (see above) into low-Earth orbit.
In Florida, we can best see this historic moment in person if you're anywhere on the Space Coast (Brevard County) or certain spots in the First Coast or Fun Coast (Volusia County) or the Treasure Coast (Indian River County, St. Lucie County and Martin County). However, people in Jacksonville, far north of Cape Canaveral, and West Palm Beach, far south of Cape Canaveral, have posted rocket launch photos and video on X, the social platform formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram. Pro tip: If you do watch it in person, especially on Florida's Space Coast, get to your viewing destination early and prepare to stay later after the launch because of heavy traffic.
A rocket launch can be a treat for the ears, too: On the Space Coast, a 'rumble' can be heard or window-shaking can be expected in some parts of Brevard County after liftoff.

Older Americans are happiest living in these 5 US states, study says — is yours one of them?
One of the great perks of reaching your golden years is the newfound freedom to live wherever you choose. With the kids out of the house and work no longer tying you down, retirement opens the door to relocating to a place that better suits your lifestyle. So, why not consider moving to a state where seniors report the highest levels of happiness? Thanks to Jeff Bezos, you can now become a landlord for as little as $100 — and no, you don't have to deal with tenants or fix freezers. Here's how I'm 49 years old and have nothing saved for retirement — what should I do? Don't panic. Here are 6 of the easiest ways you can catch up (and fast) Nervous about the stock market in 2025? Find out how you can access this $1B private real estate fund (with as little as $10) a leading online resource for senior care information and support, has just unveiled its latest Senior Happiness Index, a comprehensive look at where older Americans are thriving. To compile the index, experts evaluated a range of things that boost quality of life in retirement. These included each state's overall happiness score, cost of living, average life expectancy, access to health care, physical and mental health status of residents over age 60, and the availability of senior centers and support services. The result is a state-by-state breakdown highlighting where older Americans enjoy the greatest well-being. Whether you're thinking about where to retire or simply curious about how your state stacks up, here's a closer look at the five states that topped the rankings. Utah tops the list as a retirement haven for older adults. According to the state with a score of 7.69 out of 10 on the Senior Happiness Index. This score is based primarily on the state's supportive environment for people in this age cohort. Seniors are more healthy, less isolated and more likely to be engaged in community volunteer work here, which makes retirement much more satisfying. Read more: Want an extra $1,300,000 when you retire? Dave Ramsey says — and that 'anyone' can do it Unfortunately, these advantages come at a cost. According to ElderLife Financial, senior care in Utah tends to cost more than the national average, with a typical assisted living facility costing $4,150 per month, as of 2024. Nevertheless, if you're wealthier or more financially secure than the average retiree, this might be an ideal state to retire in Idaho is second on index, scoring 7.38 out of 10. Again, this is based on the density of seniors in the state and the access to senior services and support resources. Fortunately, Idaho is also considered a tax-friendly state for older Americans, according to SmartAsset, which means you can expect no taxes on your Social Security benefits and relatively lower sales and property taxes, saving you money. Connecticut ranks third on the Senior Happiness Index, scoring 7.01 out of 10. The state has the third-highest life expectancy and is in the top 10 for overall health. So if you're trying to live long and stay fit in retirement, this could be an ideal destination. Unfortunately, according to SmartAsset, the state is a relatively unfriendly tax jurisdiction for seniors. This means you may have little to no tax benefits for retirement income and could be exposed to relatively high property and inheritance taxes. The cost of living is noticeably higher here. According to Senior Living, a typical retiree can expect to spend $4,661 to live independently in Connecticut, 52% higher than the national average, according to Senior Living. Delaware ties with Connecticut with a score of 7.01 out of 10, and ranks ninth for health outcomes. It is in the top five states with the lowest ratio of older adults living alone, which means you're less vulnerable to social isolation here. Delaware is also tax-friendly to seniors, according to SmartAsset. The average monthly cost of living independently here is $3,862, which Senior Living reports is just 26% above the national average. Overall, Delaware could be an excellent choice for your golden years. Home to billionaire Warren Buffett — one of the most famous recent retirees in America — Nebraska ranks fifth on Senior Happiness Index. Fortunately, if you're looking to join the Oracle of Omaha and retire in the Cornhusker state, it won't cost you much. The average monthly cost of living for an independent senior is just $1,917, 37% lower than the national average, according to Senior Living. If saving money in retirement is a top priority, Nebraska should be on your list for relocation. 2025 FIFA Club World Cup: Vision, Competition, And Controversy
Lionel Messi #10 of Inter Miami CF applauds the fans while walking off the pitch following the FIFA ... More Club World Cup 2025 group A match between Al Ahly FC and Internacional CF Miami at Hard Rock Stadium on June 14, 2025 in Miami Gardens, Florida. (Photo by Carmen Mandato - FIFA/FIFA via Getty Images) Organized by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the FIFA Club World Cup tournament showcases some of the premier soccer clubs from around the world. This year's tournament is held in the United States, and the format has been expanded to include 32 teams from six continents, with a total prize pool of $1 billion. The event has been transformed into a quadrennial competition and serves as somewhat of a warm-up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Stakeholders are hopeful that U.S. fans will embrace the tournament, and that its 2025 edition will be a colossal success. Although the event provides an opportunity to witness the best soccer clubs compete, there has been some controversy. Several Major League Soccer (MLS) players from the three competing teams—Seattle Sounders, Inter Miami, and Los Angeles FC—perceive this year's tournament as a 'cash grab' for the league. They have expressed concerns about being inadequately compensated, given the substantial prize money at stake. Their collective bargaining agreement (CBA) caps player earnings from outside competition at $1 million, while MLS teams benefit from financial incentives such as participation fees. For example, each MLS team is guaranteed to receive $9.55 million in the tournament. There have been attempts to remedy the situation. In addition to the CBA terms, MLS has reportedly proposed a deal based on performance incentives that would allow players to earn an additional 20 percent of the money generated from wins, draws, or team advancement. However, the players' union is seeking to secure 40 percent of all prize money for its members. Another discussion topic prior to the tournament involved Boca Juniors' standout defender, Ayrton Costa, who was initially denied a visa to enter the U.S. due to his involvement in an aggravated robbery case in Argentina in 2018. However, that decision has since been reversed, and Costa has been granted a 26-day special visa, according to Reuters, as reported by a club spokesman. For those unfamiliar, Club Atlético Boca Juniors is one of the most historic and popular soccer clubs in Argentina and throughout Latin America. The club is based in the La Boca district of Buenos Aires, a neighborhood known for its working-class roots and rich traditions. Famous alumni include cultural icon Diego Maradona, along with Juan Román Riquelme, Martín Palermo and others. With the United States is set to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, multiple cities are preparing to serve as venues for the matches, facing logistical and coordination challenges associated with organizing a large-scale international soccer tournament. The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is somewhat of a test run for U.S. cities, with games being held in 12 locations across the country. There are concerns regarding border control and the presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the events. Despite these potential issues, the tournament is seen as an opportunity to elevate the sport of soccer on a global scale and to boost national interest in the lead-up to 2026. Several of the top international soccer players are competing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Established stars such as Lionel Messi (Inter Miami), Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid), and Erling Haaland (Manchester City) have either participated or are expected to participate, while emerging talents may also leave their mark. Messi played in the opening match for Inter Miami CF against the Egyptian team Al Ahly SC, which ended in a 0-0 draw. The atmosphere at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami was electric, with 60,927 spectators in attendance and a significant presence of global media. Notably, a few prominent players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lamine Yamal, and Mohamed Salah, will not be participating in this tournament for various reasons. Jamal Musiala #42 of FC Bayern Munchen celebrates with teammates after scoring his team's eighth ... More goal during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 group C match between FC Bayern München and Auckland City FC at TQL Stadium on June 15, 2025 in Cincinnati, Ohio. (Photo by) As previously mentioned, the FIFA Club World Cup will now occur every four years. The current champions are Manchester City, who defeated Fluminense 4–0 in the 2023 final match. This year, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are considered leading contenders to win the tournament. There has already been history made. In their debut, Bayern Munich defeated Auckland City 10-0 in a clear mismatch game in Group C, marking the largest margin of victory in the tournament's history. The victory included a hat-trick by Jamal Musiala, along with brilliant play from Michael Olise, Kingsley Coman, and Thomas Müller. Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain defeated Atlético Madrid 4-0 in another impressive opening game performance. There is always risk with strategic leadership decisions. Auckland City's significant defeat may signal detractors and resistance to the new 32-team format. However, as competition intensifies, FIFA hopes that this new format will help them achieve the vision outlined in its 2020 Annual Report, which emphasizes global expansion and inclusion. With a total of 63 matches scheduled over 29 days, this tournament promises to showcase exciting games and unforgettable moments.
