Rashmika Mandanna's steep pay cut after Pushpa 2 raises eyebrows. What is going on behind the scenes?
She's been the darling of the box office, the face behind some of India's biggest pan-Indian hits, and hailed as one of the most versatile actresses of her generation. Yet,
Rashmika Mandanna
, who reportedly charged a jaw-dropping ₹10 crore for
Pushpa 2
, seems to be witnessing a sharp and curious decline in her remuneration. The revelation, first reported by Pinkvilla, has left fans and industry watchers equally puzzled.
The Curious Case of Sliding Salaries
Rashmika's rise has been meteoric—from the phenomenal success of
Pushpa: The Rise
to
Animal
, and most recently,
Kuberaa
. However, despite the star power and consistent box office triumphs, her paycheck hasn't followed the expected upward trajectory. According to a report in
Siasat
, Rashmika was paid ₹4 crore for her role in
Chhaava
opposite Vicky Kaushal—a steep drop from her
Pushpa 2
fee. She earned ₹5 crore for the upcoming Salman Khan-starrer
Sikander
, and ₹4 crore again for
Kuberaa
, according to
Filmibeat
.

Kuberaa Scores Big, But Paycheck Remains Modest
In
Kuberaa
, which hit theatres on June 20, Rashmika plays Sameera alongside acting stalwarts Dhanush and Nagarjuna Akkineni. While the social thriller opened to positive reviews and promising numbers at the box office, the actress' compensation reportedly didn't reflect her previous record-breaking deal. This widening gap between her impact on screen and remuneration has sparked intense speculation online.

'Media Says I Should Hike My Fee—Maybe I Should Listen!'
Interestingly, Rashmika had earlier addressed similar rumours with a witty retort. After
Animal
's success, some reports suggested she had hiked her fee to ₹4-4.5 crore. Taking to social media, she playfully responded:
'Says who I wonder.. after seeing all of this I think I should actually consider it.. and if my producers ask why.. then I'll just say 'media out there is saying this sir ..and I think I should live up to their words.. what do I do?''

From Cocktail 2 to a Vijay Reunion?
Despite the fee fluctuation, Rashmika shows no signs of slowing down. She's already gearing up for upcoming projects like
Thaama
with Ayushmann Khurrana,
The Girlfriend
, and
Cocktail 2
. Buzz also suggests a reunion with her rumoured partner Vijay Deverakonda in Rahul Sankrityan's next.
While the exact reason behind the drop in her fees remains under wraps, theories range from project-specific budgets to a shift in the industry's pay scale post-pandemic. Some fans speculate it may even be a conscious decision by the actress to take on more challenging, content-driven roles rather than chase commercial payouts.
Whatever the case may be, Rashmika Mandanna remains one of the most bankable and talked-about stars of her time—proving that influence sometimes outweighs the invoice.

Kuberaa Box Office Day 2: Dhanush-Rashmika Mandanna Film Earns Rs 30 Crore, Beats Suriya's Retro
Kuberaa box office collection day 2: Dhanush-starrer earns Rs 30.75 crore in India, with Telugu version leading. Dhanush's latest film Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula and co-starring Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh, is off to a solid start at the box office. The multilingual film has earned an estimated Rs 30.75 crore net in India within just two days of release, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. On Saturday, the film brought in around Rs 16 crore, slightly up from its opening day collection of Rs 14.75 crore. Despite strong reviews and audience word-of-mouth, the growth in collections has been modest. However, Kuberaa is holding strong, especially in the Telugu-speaking regions. The Telugu version of the film recorded a solid 66.19% occupancy rate, outperforming the Tamil version by a noticeable margin. The film's earnings are comparable to other recent releases. It is neck and neck with Dhanush's Raayan, which made Rs 27.04 crore in two days, and has edged past Suriya's Retro, which earned Rs 27 crore in the same time frame. Backed by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao under Amigos Creations, Kuberaa features Dhanush in an intense and unconventional role — that of a beggar — which has earned him critical acclaim. Dhanush's emotional connection with the film was evident when he attended the first day, first show of Kuberaa with his son Linga at Rohini Silver Screens in Chennai. Dhanush was visibly emotional as fans cheered loudly, scaled theatre walls, and tried to catch a glimpse of him. Videos of the moment, showing him folding hands and acknowledging the crowd, quickly went viral. His security had to intervene to help him safely exit the premises. Interestingly, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave the film a UA certificate only after significant edits. The total duration was reduced by 13 minutes and 41 seconds from the original cut and 19 scenes were trimmed before approval. With a steady pace at the box office and positive word-of-mouth, Kuberaa looks set for a strong weekend run. The film's success hasn't just been limited to the box office. Kuberaa has also sparked significant buzz around its digital release. According to a report by OTT Play, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for a staggering Rs 50 crore. This makes it one of the biggest OTT acquisition deals in recent times. First Published:

Meet Dr Shadab Ahmed the surgeon with an extraordinary poetic precision
Dr Shadab Ahmed is a prominent and acclaimed name in the translation and transliteration of 'Indian, Persian and Ottoman antiquarian manuscripts. An author of more than 10 published books on 'Indian & Persian ethnic prose-poetry', his interpretations and paraphrases are widely read and appreciated in the Indo-Persian scholarly community trans-continentally. Several of his translated verses appear in major digital libraries around the globe and are critically analysed by renowned critics and academicians. His translations blend analytical rigor with extraordinary poetic precision, extrapolating and interfacing complex verses into elaborate enthralling wordplays. His works explore the essence and leitmotif of the celebrated literary compositions from the bygone empires as much as they throw an important light on the socio-political, ethnic and cultural analysis of those eras. The themes of his works are varied and idiosyncratic - selectively compiled, curated, structured and standardised. The passages and verses are carefully chosen and researched, intermixing the associated Occidental and Oriental explications. Be it the entranced turmoiled devotion to the beloved or proscribed suppressed literature illustrating the classified carnalization of the monarchs and sovereigns, it is presented in a lavish linguistic rhymeplay which catches both the incurious and inquisitive eyes. A unique feature of his own composed verses and quatrains lies in the reflection of an altered transitional consciousness, in which the author appears to be subtly invoking God and communicating implicitly. The result is often a quatrain with metaphysical interpretation and perspective. The language used in the translations is standardized American and British English, with unusual words assembling together to develop a beautiful narrative. But that won't be all. Apart from being a successful writer and author, Dr Ahmed is also a professional Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, intrinsically involved in quality assurance programs of several institutions and universities. Based in India, his extra-professional and extra-academic interests goes into real estating, property development and investment management. A bibliophile and passionate reader, he reads whenever his busy schedule permits and is a prudent scholar of Indian & World History, Metaphysical & Aesthetic Philosophy, Abrahamic, Indic & Vedic Religions and Tantric Sciences. Dr Ahmed is also a noted columnist on Indian polity, geopolitics, realpolitik and international affairs. His opinions and editorials appear in various national print media are as well-read and well-liked as his books are. Hailing from North-East India, Dr Ahmed finished his under-graduation from Bihar and post-graduation from Tamil Nadu. He has previously worked in the North East Frontier Railway's, based at NFR Headquarters, Assam. When asked where he sees himself ahead in life, he enigmatically smiles before letting us know that he is looking forward to be an entrepreneur. One challenge at a time, and two ahead for a vision is his mantra to proceed forward in life. He has several academic and non-academic books lined up for publication and release in the coming months. His next book 'The Despicable Musalman' is eagerly awaited, which provides a comprehensive account of the Islamization of India and takes on various egocentric and megalomaniac personalities from the Arabian, Ghurid, Ghaznavid, Turkish, Mongol, Mughal empires and sultanates – whose policies and practices are vital in shaping up Indian polity and administrative structure. We wish him all the best for his academic accomplishments and extra-academic endeavours.

The latter fell for 62 and Pope went on to get his ninth Test ton. Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill's stump mic antics will leave you splits.(Instagram) Then, he had Joe Root for support for sometime, before Bumrah struck again for a third time. The last over on Day 2 also saw plenty of drama as Bumrah thought he removed Harry Brook as well, but he overstepped. England reached 209/3 at Stumps, in response to India's 471, and still trail by 262 runs, with seven wickets in the bag. The England innings also saw plenty of entertainment from the stump mic, with vice-captain Rishabh Pant and skipper Shubman Gill hogging the spotlight. In one such instance, a delivery went past Duckett's leg side, and Pant, who was donning the gloves, had to put in a full-stretched dive to prevent leg byes. Reacting to the delivery, an animated Pant quipped, 'Mei bhi khel raha hu bhai! Apne chauke ke chakkar mei, mera chauka mat de dena (Even I am playing brother! To avoid getting hit for six, don't end up sending me for a six!). In another instance, Ravindra Jadeja sent a good delivery, which the batter defended. Reacting to the delivery, Gill screamed, 'Abhi ye pura confused hai Jaddu bhai! Kaunsi seedhi hai, kaunsi udhar ayega uska! Abhi isko kuch pata nhi lag raha! (Now he is totally confused Jaddu bhai (Ravindra Jadeja)! (Which delivery will come straight, which will come there, he doesn't know anything)' Video of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant's stump mic antics: The ongoing five-match Test series has seen a new generation of Indian cricketers take over the mantle of leadership, with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirements from the format recently. Jadeja, Bumrah, Pant and KL Rahul are the only remaining members from the previous leadership setup.
