‘Missing' British journalist found in Brazil hostel says she doesn't want to see family
British journalist Charlotte Alice Peet, 32, who was reported missing nearly four months ago, has been found in a Sao Paulo hostel, according to Rio de Janeiro police.
Peet, who has written for The Independent and Al Jazeera, had been out of contact with her family voluntarily since early February.
She reportedly told a friend on 8 February that she was in Sao Paulo and planning to go to Rio de Janeiro before disappearing.
A missing person report was filed on 17 February, and the Brazilian Foreign Press Association (ACIE) expressed concern for her safety.
Police stated that Peet does not want contact with her family, and the case has been closed.

Major development in case of missing 21-year-old man - after his family used a drone to send him a desperate plea to return home
The mother of a missing man was heard begging him to come home in a message blasted from a drone above the search zone just hours before his body was located. Finn Coyle, 21, was last seen at his family's home on Tanner Road in Carmel, in the hills east of Perth, about 2.30pm on Friday. In a sad update on Thursday, Queensland Police said officers had located a deceased male on a property in Carmel about 8.30am. 'Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, police believe the male to be missing 21-year-old man Finn Coyle. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner,' the statement read. It comes just hours after Finn's mother shared a pre-recorded message with her son using a drone above the search area on Wednesday. 'It's mum here. The police and volunteers are looking for you,' she said. 'You're not in any trouble. If you hear or see the drone, please walk towards it.' 'Hopefully (his mum's) voice of comfort will draw him out from the bush,' Forrestfield police officer-in-charge Brad Robinson said. His older brother Conor said while Finn was suffering mental health problems, it was 'completely out of character' for him to disappear. 'Finn's been missing since Friday... we're all very worried for his wellbeing and his welfare, he's known to spend a lot of time in the local bush, in the hill's area,' he said during a press conference on Tuesday. 'He's very resourceful and he's a great young man, but he's suffering a lot of mental health (problems).' Fears grow for missing schoolgirl, 12, who vanished in park with cops urging ‘dial 999'
A DESPERATE search has been launched for a missing schoolgirl who vanished in a park. Ada Edwards was last seen in the St John's Park area of Tunbridge Wells, Kent, at around 4.30pm on June 11. The 12-year-old is described as white and around 4ft 11in tall with shoulder-length dark brown hair and brown eyes. Kent Police said the missing girl, from Edenbridge, is thought to have been wearing a t-shirt and camouflage jogging bottoms. A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers are concerned for Ada's welfare and anyone who has seen her should call 999 quoting 11-1147." 1
