A TROUBLED Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer has been banned for three months with immediate effect for 'non-sporting offences'.
David Cottin has been denied the right to appeal the verdict handed down by France Galop, according to Paris Turf.

Cottin, who was previously banned for 12 months (six suspended on condition of good behaviour) after horses in his yard failed drugs tests, cannot have another runner until late September.
The French handler saddled the JP McManus-owned Easysland to Cross Country Chase success at the 2020 Festival.
He was previously 'one of the most charismatic jockeys' before becoming a trainer and is son of famed French handler Philippe Cottin.
The release confirming Cottin's ban did not state explicitly how he had breached the terms of his licence.
French racing journalist Adrien Cugnasse told the Nick Luck Daily podcast earlier this year more on the 'sad story'.
The reporter claimed Cottin was trying to buy Champagne at the bar at Auteuil but 'went crazy' when his card didn't work.
He was then allegedly given a two-month ban from the racecourse after an argument with a bar worker.
Cugnasse then went onto divulge unconfirmed reports of a 'street fight' involving Cottin.

Waringstown left-hander Topping has been a revelation since his move to the North-West and his prolific form continued as he carried his bat through the innings, making an unbeaten 71 from just 57 balls (six fours, one maximum) to take his side to 181 for six. 'It's very nice to get off to a winning start at this Festival after losing the last two games in Cork,' said skipper McBrine afterwards. 'We've talked about energy levels where we've tended to start quite well then drop a wee bit. Hopefully this week will see a change of mindset.' McBrine paid tribute to the efforts of Topping and Wilson, who played such a pivotal role in the victory. 'Sam (Topping) has been excellent all year. That's four 50s and a century he has now. He's been in great form and hopefully that will continue. He's a brilliant lad to have around the camp and has really fitted in. 'Jared Wilson bowled exceptionally well and got his just rewards with a four-fer. 'He bowled a great line and length and those three wickets in the over effectively ended the game.' Connections hoping to see the real Falakeyah next time out
Having bolted up on her Wolverhampton debut in November, the Owen Burrows-trained filly looked every inch a top-class performer in the making when running away with Newmarket's Pretty Polly Stakes on her return to action in the spring. After sidestepping the Oaks at Epsom and being ruled out of the French equivalent, Falakeyah dropped back to a mile for the Coronation Stakes, but ended up racing too enthusiastically for her own good on the front end before weakening in the home straight. Angus Gold, racing manager for owners Shadwell, said: 'It was a pity, as I was very pleased with her before the race. She settled beforehand, I thought, she was good and calm in the ring and Jim (Crowley) said she went down brilliantly relaxed. 'I've only seen the replay once, but it looked to me like for the first 50 or 60 yards of the race she was OK and then when Hollie (Doyle, riding Duty First) came upsides her she just put her head in the air and took off basically. It just set her alight and that was it. 'On a hot day like that, she was never going to be able to keep going at that pace, so we'll just give her a bit of time. We didn't learn anything regarding distance or anything like that, all we learnt was she's not going to win races if she races like that.' He added: 'We know she's considerably better than that, her work at home is very high class and that run didn't bare any resemblance to her work at home. We'll obviously have to try to settle her next time and maybe we'll have a look at something like the Nassau. We'll just see how everyone feels nearer the time. 'At home she settles beautifully and is quite happy to take a lead and doesn't fight the jockey, so we've just got to get her to do that on the racecourse if she's going to have any chance of finishing off her races.'

Pogba to join ex-Arsenal star praised by Henry and who hit out at England snub
Paul Pogba has reportedly agreed a two-year deal with Monaco and that would see the ex-Manchester United midfielder link up with former Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun Paul Pogba is reportedly about to join Monaco after spending nearly two years away from football due to a doping ban, with the former Manchester United and Juventus star set to link up with ex-Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun. Pogba was initially given a four-year ban after testing positive for the banned substance DHEA, but that was reduced to 18 months after he won an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. He was free to play again in March, but has yet to join a new club after his contract with Juventus was terminated in November. French outlet Le Parisien have reported that Pogba is close to signing a two-year contract with Monaco, having made 'significant financial sacrifices' in order to agree a deal. However, when asked about his future on Sergio Aguero's podcast La Casa del Kun, Pogba said: "I haven't signed anything, but there's interest. We'll see." If Pogba does end up joining Monaco, he will count a number of fellow former Premier League players as team-mates. This includes Balogun, who joined Monaco from Arsenal back in 2023. The 23-year-old enjoyed a decent debut campaign, netting eight goals in 32 games across all competitions, but struggled with injury problems last season that limited him to just seven starts. However, Balogun is a proven goalscorer in Ligue 1 after netting 21 goals in 37 games during a loan spell at Reims. Balogun later stated that he decided to go to France because he wanted to step out of his comfort zone and challenge himself, with the decision earning him praise from former Arsenal and Monaco star Thierry Henry. "I'm really happy for him because in general English players don't go abroad – normally players are loaned either to another Premier League side or in the Championship," Henry said on Prime Video in 2022. "He's a very English-style player who likes to run down the channels but he was missing something, which was his finishing. He's now starting to score goals regularly and I'm happy for that, happy he has gone abroad. "It's especially so considering he is a Londoner – in general Londoners struggle to leave London. When I heard he was coming to France, it made me think he has a refreshing mindset." Balogun was born in America, but grew up in London after emigrating to England when he was just two-years-old. He joined Arsenal's academy at the age of 10 and represented both England and the US at age group level before ultimately deciding to play for America at senior level. And his decision to declare for America came after he was left out of Gareth Southgate's first England squad for 2023, despite his impressive form for Reims. After the squad was announced, Balogun appeared to take aim at England as he posted on Instagram: "In life, go where you're appreciated. Be easy." Just a few months later, it was announced that he had committed to the US and he has been ever-present for them since, although he is yet to make an appearance under Mauricio Pochettino due to his recent injury struggles.
