The Los Angeles Lakers attempted to pull the strings to be able to compete for an NBA title last season, pairing LeBron James and Luka Doncic.

While James has been competing with the Lakers for the past several seasons, Los Angeles acquired Doncic ahead of the deadline, dealing Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks.
After a season that ended in the first round of the postseason, James and Doncic caught fans' attention for their meet-up.
Doncic joined James on the "Mind the Game" podcast, which the Lakers forward hosts with NBA legend Steve Nash.
While Part 1 of the podcast was released several days ago, James announced on Sunday that Part 2 has officially been released.
"Blessing y'all on the weekend, Luka part 2 out now," posted the official social media account of the "Mind the Game" podcast.
Upon the release of the announcement, sharing the news on LeBron James and Luka Doncic's latest collaboration, some fans took to social media to share their thoughts.

Luka Doncic, who played the second half of the NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers, posted 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game in 50 contests for the Mavericks and Lakers.

The Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the postseason, forcing them back to the white board ahead of James' 23rd season in the league.

Wordle is a deceptively simple daily word game that first emerged in 2021. The gist is that there is one five-letter word to deduce every day by process of elimination. The daily word is the same for everyone. Wordle blew up in popularity in late 2021 after creator Josh Wardle made it easy for players to share an emoji-based grid with their friends and followers that detailed how they fared each day. The game's success spurred dozens of clones across a swathe of categories and formats. The New York Times purchased Wordle in early 2022 for an undisclosed sum. The publication said that players collectively played Wordle 5.3 billion times in 2024. So, it's little surprise that Wordle is one of the best online games and puzzles you can play daily. To start playing Wordle, you simply need to enter one five-letter word. The game will tell you how close you are to that day's secret word by highlighting letters that are in the correct position in green. Letters that appear in the word but aren't in the right spot will be highlighted in yellow. If you guess any letters that are not in the secret word, the game will gray those out on the virtual keyboard. However, you can still use those letters in subsequent guesses. You'll only have six guesses to find each day's word, though you still can use grayed-out letters to help narrow things down. It's also worth remembering that letters can appear in the secret word more than once. Wordle is free to play on the NYT's website and apps, as well as on Meta Quest headsets and Discord. The game refreshes at midnight local time. If you log into a New York Times account, you can track your stats, including the all-important win streak. If you have a NYT subscription that includes full access to the publication's games, you don't have to stop after a single round of Wordle. You'll have access to an archive of more than 1,400 previous Wordle games. So if you're a relative newcomer, you'll be able to go back and catch up on previous editions. In addition, paid NYT Games members have access to a tool called the Wordle Bot. This can tell you how well you performed at each day's game. Padres believe all their close wins have helped prepare them for 1st matchups with Dodgers this year
MILWAUKEE — The San Diego Padres are about to face the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers for the first time since their memorable NL Division Series matchup. They believe all the close games they've played lately prepared them for this test. San Diego's last seven games have been decided by a total of eight runs, a stretch that continued Sunday when Manny Machado's seventh-inning homer gave the Padres a 1-0 win and series victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. 'We know who we're going to run up against, and we definitely got ready for it this week,' Machado said. This run of close games actually started earlier than that. Thirteen of San Diego's last 14 games featured a margin of no more than two runs, and the Padres have gone 9-5 during that stretch. 'These are kind of the games we've been playing the last 2½ weeks here now,' infielder Jake Cronenworth said. 'They're just kind of become the norm for us. I think (if) you can win these one-run games and win them late – good pitching, good defense and timely hitting – that's kind of the recipe for success.' Now they finally get to measure themselves against the Dodgers in seven of their next 10 games. The Padres and Dodgers begin a three-game series Monday at San Diego before meeting again in Los Angeles for a four-game set starting June 16. The Padres and San Francisco Giants are a game behind the Dodgers in the NL West standings after all three teams won Sunday. 'It's crazy that we haven't faced them,' reliever Jason Adam said. 'I'm excited for the series. I'd take this team over any team in baseball, top to bottom. I'd go to battle with them against anybody, so I'm excited for the series. Yeah, that's our focus. San Diego defeated the top-seeded Dodgers 3-1 in the 2022 NL Division Series before losing 4-1 to the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL Championship Series. Last year, the Padres had the Dodgers on the brink of elimination before falling 3-2 in the NL Division Series. The Padres led that series 2-1 and had a chance to close it out at home, but they fell 8-0 as eight Dodgers pitchers combined on a shutout. The Dodgers then returned home to win 2-0 in Game 5 as Yoshinobu Yamamoto outdueled Yu Darvish. Darvish hasn't pitched for San Diego yet this season as the 38-year-old right-hander recovers from inflammation in his throwing elbow, but the Padres still have an outstanding pitching staff. San Diego has allowed a total of 15 runs over its last seven games and has three shutouts in that span. Sunday marked the Padres' MLB-leading 12th shutout of the season. The Padres have needed that stellar pitching because their lineup has struggled at times. Machado has gone 12 of 31 this month and has three homers in his last four games, but two-time All-Star Fernando Tatis Jr. is hitting .185 since the start of May. That combination of impressive pitching and inconsistent hitting is producing plenty of close games, and the Padres are winning most of them. They're hoping that provides a long-term payoff. 'I think it's not only a help for (preparing for) the Dodgers,' Adam said. 'It's a help for all the future. It's a help for the playoffs. Very rarely are you blowing out a team in the playoffs. Of course, we love blowouts when they happen, and we love winning by 20, but the reality is there's a lot of important games played that are really close. Baker Mayfield's career resurgence with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been nothing short of superb, and the addition of his third offensive coordinator in three years makes it even more impressive. Advertisement After going from Dave Canales, to Liam Coen, to now Josh Grizzard, Baker has had his fair share of changes since arriving in the NFC South, but this one might have the least amount of any. With Grizzard the passing game coordinator last season under Coen, the scheme isn't entirely new for Mayfield, and in a chat with CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, now it's all about the details. "I try not take take it for granted being in the same system since I am so used to learning new offenses," Mayfield said. "Now it's just about the details. We have a great group. We have everybody back and added some pieces in the skill group. That makes it easier. I took a lot more responsibility last year, and I am taking even more ownership of it. "When it comes to those checks at the line of scrimmage, it makes it a lot easier with the guys being back. They know when we get this blitz, and I am going to check to this play, it's second nature for them. When people don't have to think about it, it's a lot better." That means, as he states, that everyone can play faster, and in turn, this will lead to good things happening far more often. Advertisement Yes, there will be tweaks here and there, as Grizzard is a first-time play-caller, something he is working on during OTAs and mini-camp this week. Still, some might overlook that Mayfield and the offense aren't starting from scratch for a change. They know the nuts and bolts of it, which means more time can be spent ironing out the details of an offense they already understand. Some are sleeping on the Buccaneers in 2025 due to another coordinator change for Baker, but as we have just detailed, things won't be changing that much. So expect another good season from the defending NFC South champs despite the changes.
