R. Kelly claims he wrote 25 albums while serving 30-year prison sentence for sex trafficking and racketeering
R&B singer R. Kelly, currently serving a 30-year sentence for sex trafficking and racketeering, claims to have written 25 albums since his incarceration. The 58-year-old artist made the revelation during a phone call to the Inmate Tea With A&P podcast, as reported by Billboard on March 7, 2025.
Speaking through a monitored prison line, Kelly said he was asked to sing 'Happy Birthday' to someone on the show. The hosts, who referred to him as the 'King of R&B' and his former title, 'the Pied Piper of R&B,' reacted enthusiastically as he performed a snippet of his 1998 song When a Woman's Fed Up. When asked about his creative output in prison, Kelly described his musical talent as a 'beautiful disease that's uncurable.' He stated that despite his circumstances, he continues to write music and has completed approximately 25 albums.
Kelly, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, was sentenced in 2021 after being convicted on federal charges in New York, including racketeering and sex trafficking. In 2022, he received additional convictions in Chicago related to child exploitation and coercion of minors. His convictions followed decades of allegations, including an illegal marriage to 15-year-old Aaliyah in 1994 and accusations of holding women in a 'cult-like' environment.
Kelly remains hopeful for an early release, saying he wishes to resume his music career. However, last month, the 2nd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals rejected his appeal of his New York conviction, meaning he could remain behind bars into his 80s if he serves his full sentence.
Before his conviction, Kelly was known for his prolific career, releasing 18 studio albums and creating the Trapped in the Closet series. His legal team has denied the allegations made against him.

Addison Rae releases debut album Addison with introspective pop anthems and bold artistic statement
Addison Rae has officially entered the pop music spotlight with the release of her highly anticipated self-titled debut album, Addison, out today (June 6). The album arrives nearly a year after her viral single 'Diet Pepsi' and marks a turning point in Rae's creative evolution — from TikTok star to a fully realized pop artist. The 12-track album features no guest appearances and includes two interludes. Rae co-wrote every song alongside collaborators Luka Kloser and Elvira Anderfjärd, giving the project a deeply personal touch. As reported by Billboard's Lyndsey Havens and Josh Glicksman, the album's strength lies in Rae's balance of vulnerability and boldness, embracing the duality of fame and self-discovery. Over the past year, Rae has expanded her presence in music through high-profile performances with Charli XCX and Troye Sivan on the Sweat Tour, as well as an appearance with Charli and Arca at Coachella. During her Coachella set, Rae revealed the album's release date by showing 'June 6' written on her underwear — a bold nod to her flair for theatrics and personal branding. Despite her rising profile, Rae has described Addison as both her 'first and last album,' suggesting the project may stand alone as a personal and artistic milestone. On her website, this phrasing appears beneath each version of the album (CD, vinyl, and box set). Whether or not Rae continues down this path, Addison captures a pop star unafraid to reflect, experiment, and be heard. With its blend of introspection, fun, and stylistic clarity, Rae's debut leaves its mark — and listeners pressing repeat.

JUI-F blasts PTI over Kohistan scandal
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) provincial spokesperson Haji Abdul Jalil Jan has accused Barrister Saif of misleading the nation by blaming 12 years of corruption on the caretaker government. Responding to recent statements by the K-P Adviser on Information, Jalil Jan challenged Barrister Saif to present the cheques issued during Taimur Jhagra's tenure as finance minister in connection with the Kohistan scandal. He said that those who constantly label others as thieves have now been caught red-handed. The same political party that promised one million jobs, five million homes, and rivers of milk and honey in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is itself mired in corruption scandals. Jalil Jan further stated that following the BRT project, Malam Jabba land case, Billion Tree Tsunami, wheat scandal, and misuse of the Sehat Card program, the Kohistan scandal has further exposed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Even ministers and MPAs from the ruling party have come forward with revelations, shedding light on the extent of corruption within Barrister Saif's party.
