Trans vegan cult member linked to Vermont border agent killing was person of interest in parents' murders
A member of a transgender, vegan cult linked to the killing of a Vermont border agent was also a person of interest in the murder of their parents.
During a wellness check on Jan. 3, 2023, the bodies of 72-year-old Richard and 69-year-old Rita Zajko were found dead at their home in Chester Heights Borough, Pennsylvania. The Delaware County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the deaths, which occurred on Dec. 31, 2022, as homicides.
More than a year later, the incident remains an "active investigation" by the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP).
According to the PSP, the couple were found with a firearm inside their home. The firearm "has been linked" to a person of interest in the January 2025 shooting of U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Christopher Maland.

On Jan. 20, 2025, Maland was killed during a routine traffic stop in Coventry, Vermont, about 20 miles south of the Canadian border. Youngblut and Bauckholt were in the stopped car, opening fire on the border agent, authorities said.

Jack Lasota, 34, reportedly the group's leader, and Zajko were recently taken into custody in Maryland. They face multiple charges, including trespassing, obstructing and hindering and possession of a handgun in the vehicle.

Authorities have released a mugshot of the Chinese national accused of smuggling undeclared biological material into the United States. Chengxuan Han was initially scheduled to appear in federal court Wednesday to face charges of smuggling goods into the U.S. and making false statements, according to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital. However, her detention hearing was cut short after her court-appointed attorney requested more time due to "some additional matters pertinent to the issue of bond." Han is a citizen of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and Ph.D. student at Wuhan's College of Life Science and Technology in the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). Han is the third Chinese national arrested this month for allegedly smuggling items into the U.S. University of Michigan post-doctoral research fellow Yunqing Jian and her boyfriend, Zunyong Liu, were arrested after allegedly bringing an "agroterrorism agent" into the U.S. to study at a University of Michigan laboratory. The technology consisted of a handheld broadband receiver that detects known, unknown, illegal, disruptive or interfering transmissions and a chemical threat identification device. He also looked to acquire a civilian airplane engine and thermal imaging system to be mounted on a drone or aircraft for target identification. The entire scheme cost North Korean officials approximately $2 million in wire transfers to Wen, with the funds being used to procure firearms and other goods for the government. Wen faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison for both charges and is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 18. US Marshals escalate manhunt for fugitive dad wanted in daughters' murders
The U.S. Marshals Service has activated its elite Rapidly Advancing Manhunt (RAM) program in the urgent search for Travis Decker, wanted in connection with the murder of his three daughters in Washington state. The RAM program, according to the U.S. Marshals Service, is designed to expedite the capture of violent fugitives through real-time intelligence coordination and rapid deployment of specialized teams, is fully engaged in the effort to apprehend Decker. More than 100 officers from federal, state, and local agencies are actively involved in the manhunt in an intensive search effort that includes aerial surveillance, tracking dogs and backcountry patrols. "Our office recently received a tip from a hiking party who stated they spotted a lone hiker in the Enchantments area who appeared to be ill-prepared for trail and weather conditions, and appeared to be avoiding others," the sheriff's office said in a press release. Authorities subsequently acted on the tip and "spotted a lone, off-trail hiker from a helicopter near Colchuck Lake who ran from sight as the helicopter passed," CCSO said. Immigrant shelter whistleblower asking DOJ to investigate 'disturbing pattern' at taxpayer-funded hotels
A former immigrant shelter director in Massachusetts is petitioning Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice to launch an investigation into the "disturbing pattern" of criminal activity, sexual assaults and financial abuse that he says is widespread in the state-run migrant shelter system. Jon Fetherston, a former director of an immigrant shelter in Marlborough, Massachusetts, first blew the whistle about the widespread abuse in the shelter system after he discovered a Haitian migrant named Ronald Joseph, who was living in his shelter, had repeatedly raped and impregnated his 13-year-old daughter. Fetherston previously told Fox News Digital that as soon as Joseph heard he was losing custody of his daughter, he "reached across the table and grabbed me and got angry with me and started cursing and yelling and screaming and swinging at me because he realized what was happening." However, instead of being arrested immediately, Fetherston was directed to order Joseph a Lyft ride to another shelter in Worcester County. Joseph was not arrested until eight months in February.
