Kingsman star Sophie Cookson breaks year-long social media silence to reveal surprise new career - as she details her 'radical reset' after months of feeling 'hopeless'
Sophie Cookson has broken her social media silence after 16 months to open up about her recent 'radical reset'.
The English actress, 34, announced an exciting career move as a yoga teacher as she took to her Instagram page with a lengthy message, detailing her recent life-changing journey.
The Red Joan star - who is married to Claire Foy 's ex-husband and fellow actor Stephen Campbell Moore - revealed she had quit drinking and done some 'hard thinking' in her recent update.
Sharing a slew of stunning snaps from her time in Bali, Sophie wrote in the heartfelt caption: 'Coming out of hibernation with thanks and maybe a dash of inspiration for anyone who's ever felt similar….
'Radical resets for me tended to play out as excuses to be mean and self punitive.
'Rather than needing to be more of something positive, I needed to be less of something negative. Always less. Never room for growth or taking up space.
'Last year, after umming and aahing (and frankly feeling rather hopeless) I stopped drinking, did some hard thinking, bit the bullet and did something I was always ashamed I wanted, training to become a Yoga instructor.
'I was prepared to work hard, sweat and be (incredibly!) sore, but nothing prepared me for the transformative wisdom and unbound kindness I experienced.
'This is a note of love to those I met and continue to meet through Yoga, which turns out to be the most surprising, generous gift both as a practitioner and generally overwhelmed human!
Sophie finished off wisely: 'Everything in yoga mirrors life and as one of my teachers says, 'We can do tricky things'. Be open and take a leap. ❤️'
Her recent Instagram carousel featured bits from her time in the stunning Indonesian city, with the actress staying at the De Moksha Eco Friendly Boutique Resort - which she describes itself online as an 'awards-winning' and 'luxurious' and 'surrounded by nature'.
In another shot, the The Trial of Christine Keeler lead star is captured happily fooling around with girlfriends on the beach in a white crop top and leggings.
A different one, showed Sophie from behind in a bathing suit while taking the plunge.

She also shared a make-up free selfie from the retreat - a far cry from the glamorous red carpet looks she is better known for.
Her post prompted a flood of support from fans, with many praising her honesty and courage in making such life changes public, commenting below:
'Amazing my love welcome!!! One of the best things I ever did. Practice and all is coming. ❤️❤️❤️';
'LOVE everything about this - the inspiration couldn't have come at a better time. Congratulations! ♥️♥️♥️ ';
'Congratulations, what an amazing journey. Now I need you as my teacher obviously ❤️❤️'.
Ben Hur actor Stephen, 45, and the actress found love after meeting on the set of the 2018 spy drama Red Joan before the shock collapse of his marriage to The Crown star Claire - and she gave birth to his daughter two years later.
Although, the happy couple have not been pictured publicly together since 2023.
Sophie rose to fame in 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service alongside Colin Firth and Samuel L Jackson, and went on to star in Netflix's Gypsy, the BBC's The Trial of Christine Keeler with James Norton, and, most recently, ITV's The Confessions of Frannie Langton - in which she played Stephen's on-screen wife.
Stephen and Claire, 41, who share ten-year-old daughter, Ivy Rose, divorced amicably before he began dating Sophie, but the relationship was widely reported at the time.
Claire has spoken about the challenges of balancing parenting and work, telling Emmy Magazine in 2018 - when her daughter was three: 'I can't imagine anything worse than being away from my child for six months.
'You get to the point where you go, 'I'm really sorry that you feel like that and I really appreciate what you feel and I'm really sorry that Mommy had to go to work.'
'But there's an equality and an understanding that both Mommy and Daddy go to work, and we take turns and we share.'

When one isn't enough! Brittany Hockley shows off her stack of wedding rings as she returns to Australia with new husband Benjamin Siegrist after Bali nuptials
Brittany Hockley and her newly minted husband Benjamin Siegrist have returned to Sydney after tying in knot in Bali. While her wedding may be over, Brittany won't forget in a hurry, with the former Bachelor star's finger festooned with an array of rings. The brunette was spotted showing off her bling as the couple strolled hand-in-hand through the streets of Bondi on Tuesday. She wore the stunning diamond sparkler Benjamin, 33, got down on bended knee with when he popped the question in June last year. She also sported two wedding rings created for her big day - a plain 18k gold band and another gold band encrusted with brilliant white diamonds. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Meanwhile Benjamin, also went for the 'bling' approach for his wedding band, with the goalkeeper now wearing a 14k yellow gold band with infinity pavé diamonds. All three wedding rings were created by Brittany's best friend and Life Uncut podcast co-host Laura Byrne's jewellery line, ToniMay. Brittany cut a casual figure in a puffy sleeveless jacket that she wore over a white long-sleeve zip-up top. She matched this with a pair of form-fitting navy blue leggings which she had tucked into a pair of white socks. Accessorising with a pair of almond-shaped sunglasses, Brittany finished her ensemble with a pair of white sneakers. Husband Benjamin cut an equally casual figure, putting on a leggy display in a pair of navy blue shorts. He also wore a Lorna Jane zip-up jacket that featured a trio of blue strips running along the shoulders and sleeves. He finished his look with a navy blue Atlanta braves baseball cap. Benjamin was also in charge of Brittany's faithful pooch Delilah for the outing. After picking up some bakery items, the couple were seen happily chatting as they enjoyed the start of their new life together. Brittany and Ben wed in a romantic ceremony in Bali on Wednesday last week. The wedding took place at Pandawa Cliff Estate, which promises a 'dramatic and romantic clifftop setting overlooking the Indian Ocean' and stunning views of Bali's Bukit Peninsula. Brittany was ever the blushing bride on her big day, walking down the aisle in a strapless dress by Steven Khalil which featured a lace corset with dramatic long train. The couple gave followers a glimpse into the nuptials, sharing a duo of loved-up snaps from the big day to Instagram. One showed Ben romantically embracing his new bride as he leaned in for a newlywed kiss. The second showed the happy couple beaming as they held hands and hugged each other close. 'From the very first day, it was you,' Brittany captioned the images. 'Across any ocean, it is you. For the rest of our lives, it will always be you. Mr and Mrs Siegrist 4.6.2025,' she added, augmenting the sentiment with love heart emojis. Brittany and her beau appeared on her podcast Life Uncut in June last year to discuss details about her stunning giant diamond ring. Ben revealed he had the ring sourced and made in Dubai and it features a hidden halo under the diamond in a pavé setting. He also explained the diamond is lab-grown, which is more cost-effective and ethically sourced compared to natural diamonds. 'Whenever Ben and I had spoken about [engagement], I had said the two things I want: I want yellow gold. And the other thing, I always wanted a lab-grown diamond,' Brittany said. Ben didn't really know about it then, but he was like, "Don't you want a real diamond?" And I said, "It's identical. It's exactly the same, except ethically-sourced".' The cost of a lab grown diamond is around 40 to 50 per cent less than an earth-mined diamond, though it is still a real diamond.

BTS stars RM and V discharged after completing military service in South Korea
K-pop superstars RM and V from the band BTS have been discharged from South Korea's military after fulfilling their mandatory military service. They each saluted upon their release on Tuesday in Chuncheon City as about 200 fans, some of whom travelled from Mexico, Turkey and Brazil, cheered. Reina Lorena Quintero Sevilla spent nearly 18 hours on a plane from Mexico City. 'I swear, it didn't feel that long because we're so excited to be here, to watch the boys get released, excited to be in South Korea, in the home towns of our boys, who we love, who we adore,' she said. RM and V began their service in December 2023, while three other BTS members – Jin, J-Hope and Suga – were already months into their conscription. Jin, the oldest member of the K-pop supergroup, was discharged from the army in June 2024. J-Hope was discharged in October. Jimin and JungKook are scheduled to be discharged on Wednesday. The seventh member, Suga, is fulfilling his duty as a social service agent, an alternative to military service. He is to be released later this month. The seven BTS members plan to reunite as a group sometime in 2025. In South Korea, all able-bodied men aged 18 to 28 are required by law to perform 18 to 21 months of military service under a conscription system meant to deter aggression from rival North Korea. The law gives special exemptions to athletes, classical and traditional musicians, and ballet and other dancers if they have obtained top prizes in certain competitions and are assessed to have enhanced national prestige. K-pop stars and other entertainers aren't subject to such privileges. The BTS members were able to postpone their service, however, after the National Assembly revised the Military Service Act, allowing K-pop stars to delay their enlistment until age 30. There was heated public debate over whether to offer special exemptions for BTS members, until the group's management agency announced in 2022 that all seven members would fulfil their duties.
