Lewis Hamilton Drives Ferrari SF-25 For A Shakedown
Read the full story on Backfire News
Lewis Hamilton has finally been able to take the new Ferrari SF-25 Formula One car for an official shakedown. With excitement for the start of this season, people are beyond eager to see what the former Mercedes driver can do in red.Hamilton reportedly had significant feedback for his Scuderia Ferrari HP team, asking for a number of changes to his car before pre-season testing in Bahrain. Italpassion makes the changes sound minor in its report, with one of the biggest being brake pedal feedback.
He's struggled to adjust to his new team and the unfamiliar equipment in Ferraris. Previously, Hamilton ran off a track in Spain at over 200 kmh while testing with the SF-23, delaying his and Charles Leclerc's training progress by a few days.
In the meantime, LecLerc was not only reportedly faster in his laps behind the wheel of the SF-25, the driver said the shakedown was a 'good first sign' of things to come. There's been considerable speculation how he will stack up against Hamilton at the various Grands Prix, or perhaps the other way around.
Still, many F1 fans have expressed how surreal it is to see Hamilton wearing red and behind the wheel of a Ferrari. After all, everyone is used to seeing the man racing for Mercedes, so this might take more adjustment.
According to Ferrari, the SF-25 while completely new is an evolution of the SF-24 instead of a revolutionary design. One of the changes present on the new car is a new approach to aerodynamics, especially on the belly.
The idea is to better control pressure loss by reducing the size of the tombes. In short, this helps with keeping the air flowing smoothly over the rear at different angles as the driver negotiates turns, increasing stability.
Many in the engineering world seem to be praising the design, but we'll have to see how the car performs on the track.

This Off-Road Race Finish Is Literally Insane
Read the full story on Backfire News If you're aren't watching Championship Off-Road racing, you're missing out, as the finish to this race clearly shows. Things got crazy as the first and second place drivers literally battled it out during the last Champ Off-Road race that took place on June 22 was the Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run. Held at the Crandon International Raceway in Wisconsin, the venue is known as the 'Big House' among off-road racers. In other words, it's a place where drivers test their mettle and the drive to win is huge. Fans also look forward to the Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run, which has been an annual tradition since the 1970s. Featuring tight turns, the short course demands plenty of skill from drivers while putting the fans close to all the action. There's an energy there, which surely contributed to this dust-up. In the lead at the beginning of the final lap was Keegan Kincaid, who was racing in front of his hometown crowd while behind the wheel of the No. 4 Lucas Oil/Maxxis sponsored Ford. But CJ Greaves was hot on his tail, and the man had won the last three Potawatomi Community Cup races, intending to make this his fourth. While powering through one of the sweeping turns on the course, Greaves got a little sideways, his from passenger tire getting tangled in Kincaid's deformed fender. Try as they did, the two couldn't get untangled for about 20 seconds. That allowed third-place Kyle Chaney to catch up right as the other two trucks took off again, making it a three-way sprint to the finish. But as the trucks entered Calamity Corner, a 180-degree turn with an infamous past, Greaves fell behind. Kincaid pulled ahead of Chaney at the last second, then he crashed into the No. 4 truck, climbing onto its rear before he crossed the finish line in third while still mounting his opponent. What's really great is nobody got out of their truck and started throwing punches. Instead, Kincaid and Chaney stood on their trucks and embraced, then got down and laughed with Greaves about the crazy situation.
