ESPN star eviscerates 'victim' Draymond Green for his 'angry black man' rant: 'We're sick of it!'
Draymond Green has been slammed for playing the 'victim' after claiming he is being portrayed in the media as an 'angry black man' on the court.
The Golden State Warriors superstar received his fifth technical of the season in a loss to the Timberwolves last week, and exploded at the referees in the aftermath.
Speaking to reporters in the locker room postgame he claimed he is 'sick' of the 'ridiculous' attempts to portray him in a certain way... but he is receiving plenty of criticism for his comments.
'Oh, God. You know what? Go away, Draymond,' ESPN basketball reporter Tim MacMahon said on The Hoop Collective. 'Shut up, dude.
'Do not play victim here. Don't play the victim here. Stop doing flagrant stuff. We're sick of it. We're sick of you doing stupid, flagrant crap on a regular basis. It's not an agenda, Draymond.
'You get break after break after break after break, and you keep on pushing the line. It was not an agenda to make you look angry when you punched your teammate in the face.

'It was not an agenda to make you look angry when you grabbed Rudy Gobert and put him in a sleeper hold. It was not an agenda to make you look angry when you punched or smacked, or whatever you want to call it, Jusuf Nurkic upside the head.
'Draymond is full of crap. He's just so full of crap that his breath stinks. Like what are we talking about here, dude? Please.'
The 35-year-old is two technical fouls away from a one-game suspension. That would represent a huge blow for the Warriors, who are already without the injured Steph Curry.
Head coach Steve Kerr warned Green that he must be 'careful' moving forward but the forward believes he is the victim of an 'agenda'.
'I'm not an angry black man, I'm a very successful, educated black man with a great family and I'm great at basketball - I'm great at what I do,' he said, per The Athletic.
His Warriors teammates including Stephen Curry were forced to step in and calm Green down

Only one player in NBA history - Rasheed Wallace - has more ejections than Green (23). In December 2023, the 35-year-old was given an indefinite suspension by the NBA for striking Suns star Jusuf Nurkic in the face.
It was his third ejection of the season and the NBA said the punishment took into account 'Green's repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts'.
After the defeat in Minneapolis, Kerr told The Athletic: 'He's going to have to be careful… he's going to have to stay composed and I'm confident he will because he knows the circumstances.'

I'm proud to represent the Americans that look like me
Coco Gauff wants her French Open victory to give hope to ' Americans that look like me'. Gauff beat world number one Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling three-set final to secure her maiden Roland Garros title. The 21-year-old, now a two-time grand slam champion, says she wants to bring 'hope and light' to black Americans who feel under-represented. 'It means a lot and obviously there's a lot going on in our country right now,' she said. 'But just to be able to be a representation of that and a representation of, I guess, people that look like me in America who maybe don't feel as supported during this time period, and so just being that reflection of hope and light for those people.' Gauff won the WTA Finals in Riyadh in November, days after the re-election of US President Donald Trump. 'I remember after the election and everything, it kind of felt (a) down period a little bit,' she added. 'My mum told me during Riyadh, 'Just try to win the tournament just to give something for people to smile for'. 'So that's what I was thinking about today when holding that (trophy). 'And then seeing the flags in the crowd means a lot. You know, some people may feel some type of way about being patriotic and things like that. 'But I'm definitely patriotic and proud to be American and I'm proud to represent the Americans that look like me and people who kind of support the things that I support.' Gauff is scheduled to play at the Berlin Open, beginning a week on Monday, to kick off her preparations for Wimbledon. But she said: 'I haven't thought that far ahead. Obviously I'm going to take some days off, for sure. 'I'm signed up for Berlin right now. We'll see if I play or not. This part of the season is new just because of the fact that it's so short and I don't know what I'm going to do yet, but I'll have that conversation with my team and take their opinions and see what they think is best. 'For sure I'm going to rest and enjoy it and not go into training too quickly just because I feel like this stuff doesn't happen too often, so you've just got to enjoy it.'

Pochettino says Tottenham links are ‘not realistic' after USMNT loss to Turkey
Mauricio Pochettino pushed back against suggestions he is a candidate to take over the newly-vacant Tottenham Hotspur managerial position, telling reporters on Saturday that it was 'not realistic' for him to leave his current role as US men's national team manager. Pochettino had been considered a possible candidate to replace Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked by Tottenham on 6 June despite him leading the club to Europa League glory – the club's first trophy in 17 years. However, Tottenham finished 17th in the Premier League, their lowest position since 1977. Sign up to Soccer with Jonathan Wilson Jonathan Wilson brings expert analysis on the biggest stories from European soccer after newsletter promotion Pochettino enjoyed a successful run at Spurs from 2014 to 2019, challenging for the Premier League title in 2016 and advancing to the Champions League final in his last season. He was let go because of Tottenham's league performance – the club finished 14th. 'After I left [Tottenham] in 2019, every time [the manager position] is free … my name appeared on the list,' Pochettino said following USA's 2-1 loss to Turkey in a friendly on Saturday afternoon. 'If you have seen the rumors, I think we are 100 coaches on the list of the club. Don't be worried about that. If something happens, we for sure will see. But we cannot talk about this type of thing because I think today it's not real. I think it's not realistic. And look – where I am, where we are? The answer is so clear, no?' Pochettino took over the US national team at the end of 2024 and has overseen a mixed bag of performances in his first nine months. Saturday's friendly was seen mostly as a way to regain the team's footing after a pair of far below-par outings in March's Nations League finals, with the team losing to Panama and Canada and looking generally listless throughout. Even though they lost, the US played with far more verve against Turkey than they had in March. Pochettino has called in a younger and less-experienced squad for this summer's games, with several of the team's first-choice stars out – either by choice, for health reasons, for personal reasons, or due to their club's participation in the Club World Cup. Jack McGlynn, one of those newcomers, opened the scoring on Saturday with a signature curling effort from outside the box. Later that half, two defensive miscues in about three minutes doomed the Americans, with both resulting in goals.

Mauricio Pochettino rules himself out of contention for Tottenham job
Mauricio Pochettino has dismissed the idea of a return to former club Tottenham to replace Ange Postecoglou as 'not realistic'. Spurs are seeking a new head coach having sacked Postecoglou just 16 days after leading the club to Europa League glory, their first trophy in 17 years. United States boss Pochettino ended a five-year stay at Tottenham in November 2019, having helped Spurs reach the final of the Champions League that year. The Argentinian signed a two-year contract to become US head coach last September and is expected to lead the team into next year's home World Cup. Speaking after his side's 2-1 friendly defeat to Turkey in Connecticut, Pochettino told reporters: 'After I left in 2019, every time that I was free, and the place of the position of the manager or head coach in Tottenham Hotspur, my name is appearing on the list. 'If you have seen the rumours, I think there are 100 coaches in the list. I think, don't be worried about that. 'If something happened, for sure you will see, but we cannot talk about this type of thing, because I think today, it's not real. It's not realistic. 'Look at where I am, where we are. And the thing is, the answer is so clear, no? But we're talking about it because it's my club, like Newells or Espanyol.' Brentford boss Thomas Frank is reported to be the leading contender to replace Postecoglou, with Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner, Fulham manager Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth also linked with the post.
