Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided more insight into the injury superstar Mookie Betts is dealing with. Betts has a small fracture at the tip of his fourth toe on his left foot.
Betts sustained the injury at home earlier in the week, after the Dodgers returned from a road trip on Wednesday night.
"I was just going to the bathroom in the dark and hit my toe on a wall," Betts told The Los Angeles Times.
However, Roberts does not believe Betts will require a stint on the injured list, but the 32-year-old is considered "day to day."
Betts will not be available for this weekend's three-game series against the New York Yankees. The Dodgers gave veteran Miguel Rojas the start at shortstop during Friday's 8-5 comeback victory for the opening game of the Fall Classic rematch.
On Saturday, infielder Hyeseong Kim will start at shortstop in place of Betts. Kim is hitting .366 with five runs batted and an OPS of .859 across 41 at-bats.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott Sends Strong Message After Loss to Mets
Dodgers' Tanner Scott Sends Strong Message After Loss to Mets originally appeared on Athlon Sports. In a tightly contested 10-inning game on Monday, the New York Mets edged out the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 at Dodger Stadium. Advertisement The Dodgers managed to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth but faltered in the extra frame. Closer Tanner Scott, who took the mound in the 10th, struggled with his command, allowing the decisive run by Starling Marte that ultimately sealed the win for New York. Postgame, Scott candidly acknowledged his performance issues, stating, "Missed locations, especially down in the zone against hitters that I'm supposed to be in different spots...I'm just not hitting my locations, and it's costing us." Scott, a 30-year-old left-handed reliever from Warren, Ohio, began his MLB career with the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 before playing for the Miami Marlins (2022-2024) and San Diego Padres (2024). Advertisement In January, he signed a four-year deal worth $72 million with the Dodgers. Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tanner Scott (66).Jason Parkhurst-Imagn Images In 2024, Scott was named an All-Star, posting a 2.73 ERA, 31 strikeouts, four saves and a 3-1 record, highlighting his status as one of the league's premier relievers That same year, the Dodgers finished with a 98-64 record (best in Major League Baseball), secured home-field advantage through the playoffs and ultimately won their eighth World Series title, defeating the New York Yankees in five games. Last season with the Padres, Scott pitched scoreless innings across five playoff games, striking out seven batters, including four against NL MVP Shohei Ohtani in the Division Series. Advertisement As of Tuesday, the Dodgers hold a 36-24 record, leading the National League West division. However, with L.A. aiming to defend their World Series title, they will need Scott to regain his form to maintain their edge in tight games. Dodgers Predicted to Add Lousiville's Patrick Forbes
Dodgers Predicted to Add Lousiville's Patrick Forbes originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the most successful teams in Major League Baseball, largely due to their strategic spending. Advertisement However, the Dodgers have also found talent in the draft, allowing them to make blockbuster trades. At the very least, the hope is for the Dodgers to do that once again during the 2025 MLB draft, and there's reason to believe they'll do just that. Baseball America recently predicted that the Dodgers would select Patrick Forbes out of the University of Louisville, a pitcher who has also played some outfield during his time at Louisville. Los Angeles Dodgers' Andrew Friedman, President of baseball operations.© Jayne Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images 'Forbes' last three outings have seemingly taken him out of first-round consideration, but the Dodgers might be a team that's happy to scoop up his arm talent and help him find the zone more consistently. When he's over the plate, his fastball/slider combination is as electric as any pitcher in this class,' they wrote. Advertisement During the 2025 season for Louisville, Forbes had his struggles. He posted a 4.62 ERA, but struck out 98 hitters in 60.1 innings. His 29 walks are a bit concerning, but if he can find the zone more, he should be in a decent position to find success in the professional ranks. Coming out of high school, he was the 217th-ranked player in his class, according to Perfect Game. He was listed as a shortstop during his high school time, but also ran it up to 93 MPH on the mound, according to the service. The Dodgers may be looking to draft and trade players as quickly as possible. If Forbes is that player, they'll have to hope he develops the way he can in the professional ranks. Diamondbacks put RHP Corbin Burnes on 15-day IL with right elbow inflammation
ATLANTA — Arizona Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burnes has been put on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation, two days after leaving a start early against the Washington Nationals. Arizona led 3-0 in the top of the fifth inning when Burnes allowed a single by CJ Abrams with two outs. The right-hander then gestured toward the dugout with his glove and yelled in frustration. Burnes allowed a run and four hits in 4 2/3 innings, with a walk and six strikeouts. He is 3-2 with a 2.66 ERA in 11 starts this season. Arizona signed Burnes to a six-year, $210 million contract before the season, and the 30-year-old has been very durable over the past several years. He's made at least 28 starts in every season since he won the 2021 National League Cy Young Award for the Milwaukee Brewers. The D-backs called up left-hander Tommy Henry to take Burnes' spot on the roster. He's pitched in one game this season, throwing 2 2/3 scoreless innings.
