A WAX figure of French president Emmanuel Macron was yesterday stolen by Greenpeace activists — then used in an anti-Russia protest.
The £35,000 depiction of the 47-year-old head of state has often been compared to a Thunderbird puppet, or a Ken and Barbie doll.

Two women and a man disguised as staff took the £35,000 model from Paris's Grevin Museum.
They placed the figure in front of the Russian embassy, urging France to halt gas and fertiliser imports from Moscow.
Greenpeace's Jean-Francois Julliard said: 'France is playing a double game.
"Macron embodies this. He supports Ukraine but encourages French firms to continue trading with Russia.'

When it was created in 2018, even museum staff admitted the Macron waxwork did not look much like Mr Macron.
Grevin's director, Yves Delhommeau, said: 'A tense and anguished face, a frozen statue that doesn't live, this is not beautiful, it is something that just doesn't work.'
Mr Delhommeau said President Macron did not meet with them in order to scan his face, so sculptors were forced to work with pictures of the 40-year-old.
Others went online to ridicule the model, saying it was one of the worst depictions of a public figure ever made.
The Grevin Museum is often compared to Madame Tussauds, the wax museum founded in London in 1835 by the French sculptor Marie Tussaud.
Like the British version, Grevin displays the waxworks of numerous famous figures from around the world.

Investigators are continuing to scour scrubland and abandoned buildings in the second day of the latest searches for missing Madeleine McCann. Photo: James Manning/PA It has been variously reported that teams will look where trenches were dug near the resort at the time of Madeleine's disappearance, at wells, ruins and water tanks, and that there are plans to examine 21 pieces of land. The search is being carried out at the request of the German federal police, as they look for evidence that could implicate prime suspect Christian Brueckner, who is in prison for raping a 72-year-old woman in Praia da Luz in 2005. About 30 German police, including forensic experts, are expected to take part in the search alongside Portuguese officers. The operation is expected to last until Friday. The Metropolitan Police said they were aware of the operation but that British officers will not be present. German investigators and Portuguese officers last carried out searches in 2023, near the Barragem do Arade reservoir, about 30 miles from Praia da Luz. It was previously searched in 2008, when Portuguese lawyer Marcos Aragao Correia paid for specialist divers to search it, after he claimed to have been tipped off by criminal contacts that Madeleine's body was there. Gaza facing ‘dark days', Starmer says, as he vows to consider ‘further action'
At the despatch box, Sir Keir Starmer described the Israeli government's conduct in the 25 mile-long strip as 'counterproductive and intolerable'. He made his comments after an Israeli and US-backed group, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, paused food delivery at its three distribution sites in Gaza on Wednesday, after health officials said at least 27 Palestinians were killed in a series of shootings near the sites this week. Leader of the Social Democratic and Labour Party in Northern Ireland Claire Hanna claimed there was 'more moral clarity coming from Ms Rachel on YouTube than there is from many world leaders who are complicit in silence', referring to the star educator who has called on leaders to 'be so ashamed' of what she described as their 'anti-Palestinian racism'. Ms Hanna told the Commons: 'The Prime Minister said this week that Britain must be ready for war and, I ask, after tens of thousands of deaths, after a generation of Gazans stunted by hunger and trauma, when will it be ready for peace? 'When will it help to stop this genocide? When will it hold the Israeli government to account, and when will it recognise the state of Palestine?' Sir Keir replied: 'She's absolutely right to describe this as dark days. He gave Sir Ed his 'assurance we'll continue to do that because that aid needs to get in at speed and at volume'. Foreign Office minister Hamish Falconer later told the Commons that Israel's newly introduced measures for aid delivery in Gaza are 'inhumane, foster desperation and endanger civilians'. He said: 'We are appalled by repeated reports of mass casualty incidents in which Palestinians have been killed when trying to access aid sites in Gaza. Palestinians have been killed while heading to an aid distribution hub (AP) 'Desperate civilians who have endured 20 months of war should never face the risk of death or injury to simply feed themselves and their families. We call for an immediate and independent investigation into these events for the perpetrators to be held to account.' Mr Falconer said it is 'deeply disturbing' that the incidents happened near the new Gaza Humanitarian Foundation distribution sites, adding: 'Israel's newly introduced measures for aid delivery are inhumane, foster desperation and endanger civilians. 'Israel's unjustified block on aid into Gaza needs to end – it is inhumane. Israel must immediately allow the United Nations and aid partners to safely deliver all types of aid at scale to save lives, reduce suffering and maintain dignity.' Mr Falconer said the UN Security Council on Wednesday is expected to consider a resolution which calls for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages and the lifting of all restrictions on humanitarian aid. He said: 'We will once again use our vote in support of these goals.'

Body found in search for missing Glasgow man Greg Monks
Greg Monks was reported missing after leaving the main strip in Albufeira in the Algarve region after a night out between the evening of May 27 and the early hours of May 28. The last official sighting of the 38-year-old was at around 3.27am on May 28 as he walked past a property in Cerro de Aguia. Judicial Police in Portugal have now confirmed that the body of a man was discovered in that area today (June 4). Officers say the man, a 38-year-old British citizen, had been missing since May 28. They added that his disappearance was reported to the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) in Albufeira on the same day at around 8pm. Following investigations and looking into the presumed route taken since the last sighting, police say the body was located on vacant land. A statement published to Policia Judiciaria's website reads: 'The Judicial Police, through the Southern Directorate, with the collaboration of the GNR of Albufeira, located, today, in the Cerro de Águia area, in Albufeira, the body of a man who had been missing since May 28. 'The disappearance of the 38-year-old British citizen was reported to the GNR in Albufeira on May 28, at 8:00 pm, by another man who was accompanying him on holiday in that location. 'After several investigations and investigating the presumed route taken in the early hours of the aforementioned day, since the last sighting, the body was located on a vacant and very uneven terrain. 'After the competent judicial inspection has been carried out, the body will be removed to the area's Legal Medicine Office for an autopsy to be performed.' The Foreign, Commonwealth, & Development Office has been contacted for comment.
