Formula 1 has today announced that it is welcoming leading global lottery operator Allwyn as a new Official Partner in a multi-year deal, beginning in 2025. The two organisations have huge global reach between them. Formula 1 welcomes 1.7bn viewers across the season and has 750 million fans and 96 million social media followers worldwide, while Allwyn's markets across the US and Europe encompass a population of 130 million adults. The partnership is an opportunity to introduce each brand's audience to one another, driving growth for both businesses in new markets. At the heart of the partnership is both brands' commitment to innovation, technology and driving positive change in the communities in which they operate and across wider society. Allwyn has a proven track record through its 300 corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sponsorship initiatives focused on sport, art and culture, from community fitness events to film festivals. Formula 1 also operates a range of local and global initiatives to improve communities and build a more inclusive sport. Formula 1 is also adopting pioneering solutions to reach its Net Zero by 2030 commitments and has a long history of developing technologies that are adopted by a range of industries from healthcare to automotive. The new relationship will give Allwyn the opportunity to utilise the sport's significant and evergrowing international fan base and platform to celebrate those making positive change, sharing inspiring stories on a global level. Leading UAE developer Aldar has announced the launch day sell-out of all 133 homes at Waldorf Astoria Residences Yas, the first ever branded residential development on Yas Island generating AED850 million ($231 million) in sales. Strategically located along the iconic Yas Links Golf Course, Waldorf Astoria Residences Yas boasts sweeping views of both the lush fairways and the world-famous Yas Marina Circuit, home to the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It comprises an exclusive collection of elegantly furnished homes, including one-to-three-bedroom apartments, duplexes, and luxurious four-bedroom penthouses. Aldar said the development has attracted a broad range of buyers with its world-class amenities, legendary Waldorf Astoria service, and prime location on Yas Island. Expatriate residents and international investors account for 76% of total sales, with the remaining 24% attributed to UAE nationals, it stated. Global demand was led by buyers from the UK and China reflecting the international appeal of Yas Island due to its position as one of the region's most vibrant destinations, said the developer in a statement. Notably, 66% of buyers were under the age of 45, highlighting strong demand for luxury, hospitality-driven living among younger demographics. Additionally, 68% of sales were to first-time Aldar buyers, reflecting the expanding reach and appeal of Aldar's residential offerings. The project brings Hilton's iconic Waldorf Astoria brand to Abu Dhabi for the first time, setting a new benchmark for luxury living in the capital, it added. On the sales performance, CEO Jonathan Emery said: "The sell-out of Waldorf Astoria Residences Yas marks a significant milestone for Aldar and highlights the attractiveness of Yas Island both as an investment destination and prime residential address."

GE Vernova announces $14.2bn initiatives to support Saudi energy transition

GE Vernova has announced initiatives worth up to $14.2 billion to accelerate Saudi Arabia's energy transition with US technology and expertise. The initiatives were announced in the presence of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, and Donald Trump, President of the US, during the latter's recent state visit to Saudi Arabia. It will cover GE Vernova's world class energy equipment technology and services to support power generation and grid stability projects. The announcements include up to $2 billion in backlog or on a reservation agreement as of the first quarter of 2025, with future contracts and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) for agreements spanning across the next four years. The initiatives are expected to play a strong role in supporting the kingdom to achieve its energy goals under Saudi Vision 2030 and transition to net zero by 2060, said a statement. 'As the world's energy equipment manufacturer, GE Vernova is proud to deploy world class technology to help deepen the longstanding relationship between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, advance energy security, and strengthen the economic prosperity and competitiveness of both nations. The collaborations announced are: • Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and GE Vernova announced initiatives spanning the supply of highly efficient and flexible heavy duty gas turbines - built in Greenville, SC, with a deep U.S. supply chain; synchronous condensers and balance of plant equipment that can support grid stability by providing voltage regulation, reactive power, and system strength, supplying crucial inertia to maintain reliable operations as more variable renewable energy is integrated into the system; and capital parts, maintenance and repair services for more efficient and reliable power plant operations. • Principal Buyer and GE Vernova entered MoUs to supply advanced power generation equipment and services for future projects; commercialize carbon capture technologies; and training and investments in power sector manufacturing, repairs, and research and development (R&D) activities. • ACWA Power and GE Vernova signed frameworks to collaborate on identifying and exploring potential opportunities to supply high efficiency gas turbines and electrification equipment for projects expected in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. ACWA Power is the world's largest private water desalination company, a leader in energy transition, and a first mover in green hydrogen. • Aramco and GE Vernova announced collaborations to provide maintenance services, repairs, spare parts, and more to support the reliable operations of various power plants around the Kingdom. With a power generation technology installed base of more than 50 gigawatts, and nearly 90 years of operations in the Kingdom, GE Vernova plays a vital role in Saudi Arabia's energy transition, supporting economic growth, and fostering talent. The company's presence in Saudi Arabia includes the GE Manufacturing and Technology Center (GEMTEC) Campus in Dammam - featuring a service and repairs center for gas turbines, a manufacturing facility for heavy duty gas turbines and components, and a research and development cell – as well as an employee base of up to 850 people, the company said. -
