Iran-Israel war live updates: Benjamin Netanyahu claims 'historic win' as Iran-Israel ceasefire holds
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel has achieved a historic victory that would stand for generations, but it must complete its campaign against Iran's axis, defeat Hamas and bring about the return of all the hostages in Gaza.
It comes as US President Donald Trump claims a ceasefire between Iran and Israel was "in effect," after expressing deep frustration with both sides for violating the agreement he brokered.
Israel has accused Iran of launching missiles into its airspace after the truce was meant to begin, but the Iranian military denies firing on Israel.

ASX 200 up 0.1 per cent on Wednesday after major Wall Street indexes surge off Iran-Israel ceasefire news
The ASX 200 see-sawed after a surge on Wall Street where investors were buoyed by the ceasefire between Iran and Israel. The index jumped 0.2 per cent before falling throughout the first hour of trading on Wednesday. Defence company DroneShield is up almost 20 per cent after signing a $61m European military deal while gaming manufacturer Light & Wonder has climbed 9.6 per cent and Paladin Energy has risen 3.2 per cent. The ASX's rise follows Donald Trump on Monday, after trading closed, that Israel and Iran had reached a ceasefire to end their 12-day war. But both sides accused each other of violating the truce on Tuesday, sparking an extraordinary outburst from Trump. "I've got to get Israel to calm down now," Trump said. Iran and Israel had been fighting "so long and so hard that they don't know what the f**k they're doing," the US President added. Wall Street was in the green on Tuesday with the S&P 500 jumping 1.1 per cent, the Nasdaq adding 1.5 per cent and the Dow Jones rising 1.2 per cent. London's FTSE 250 Index rose one per cent, Germany's DAX jumped 1.6 per cent and the STOXX Europe 600 added 1.1 per cent on Tuesday. In the past 24 hours, he has posted or re-posted on his Truth Social website more than 60 times. It's often assumed there's little veneer about Trump: what you see is what you get. It's why so many voters like him, even some who hate his policies. Unlike most politicians regurgitating talking points or trying hard to say nothing at all, he presents as the genuine article. But on Tuesday we got a glimpse of another level of realness. Worked up and probably sleep-deprived – he said he'd been up all night watching cable news – Trump lashed out at Israel and Iran for violating the ceasefire he declared 12 or so hours earlier. 'We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the f--- they're doing,' he said. 'Do you understand that?' It's not that Trump is a churchy type who never swears. He would regularly tell campaign rallies something was 'bullshit', and in a closed-door meeting with Republicans last month about the budget, instructed them: 'Don't f--- with Medicaid.' But it was different to direct such a tirade in public at a special US ally, Israel, which he claims to support more than any of his predecessors – no mean feat. Trump's rage extended to the cable news networks CNN and MSNBC, which he accused of questioning or playing down the success of his bombing campaign on Iran's nuclear facilities. The reality is that we don't know the extent of the damage. CNN and The New York Times now report that a preliminary Defence assessment indicates Iran's nuclear ambitions have only been set back 'months'.
