Thousands of Americans demonstrate against Trump

Saba Yemen20-04-2025

New York - Saba:
Thousands of Americans took to the streets on Saturday in New York and other major US cities, in the second day of protests against President Donald Trump in two weeks.
Protesters in New York held up signs reading "There is no king in America" and "Let's resist tyranny," alongside images of the US president sporting a Hitler-like mustache.
The demonstrators particularly denounced the White House's anti-immigration policies, at a time when the Supreme Court has suspended the deportation of immigrants under the 1798 "Alien Enemy Act," a law Trump invoked.
In front of the library of the largest city in the United States, near the famous Trump Tower owned by the Republican billionaire, protesters chanted, "Immigrants are welcome here."
Protesters also gathered outside the White House in Washington, although their numbers appeared to be smaller than the previous demonstration on April 5, which drew tens of thousands of people.
In the conservative state of Texas (south), a demonstration took place in Galveston, a city of 50,000 people located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico.
On the West Coast, hundreds gathered in a square in San Francisco to paint "Impeach and Resign" in giant letters in the sand.
There were reports of rallies outside Tesla dealerships, the brand owned by Elon Musk, whom Trump has tasked with reducing the size of the government's civilian workforce.
The mobilization was organized by a group called 50501, a number that equates to 50 demonstrations across all 50 states, representing a single movement opposing the Republican billionaire.
The group explained on its website that it represents "a rapid, decentralized response to the anti-democratic and illegal actions of the Trump administration and its allies..."
According to the group, approximately 400 demonstrations were planned for the day. Millions of people were called to take to the streets, but actual numbers are difficult to obtain, as police refuse to provide estimates.

Palestinian resistance factions call for pressure on Zionist entity, US administration to resume aid distribution through international organizations

Gaza – Saba: Palestinian resistance factions said on Monday that US aid distribution centers have turned into death traps targeting the starving Palestinian people driven by hunger and thirst. They emphasized that these fake centers have become daily massacres before the eyes of the entire world. In a statement, a copy of it received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), The factions added: "In the face of all this injustice and oppression to which our people are subjected, we, the Palestinian resistance factions, emphasize that the primary goal of the so-called US aid distribution centers is to end the mission of UNRWA and liquidate the Palestinian cause as a political issue, transforming it into a relief and humanitarian one. This is to accelerate the crime of forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, and the emptying of the Gaza Strip of its people and residents, in implementation of the criminal Trump plan." The statement called on "all international and Arab legal and judicial organizations, and all free people around the world, to prosecute the inhumane American security establishment, which is carrying out a suspicious security and intelligence role and has caused the martyrdom of more than 126 of our people, who are suffering from famine due to the criminal Zionist siege." It also called for "pressure on the Zionist entity and the US administration to resume the distribution of relief aid through international organizations affiliated with the United Nations, foremost among them UNRWA, as it is the only agency capable of carrying out this mission, given its legal capacity, practical experience, and competencies to preserve the lives, dignity, and humanity of our people in Gaza." The statement warned "all Palestinian people against being lured by any false promises from the Zionist occupation or its mercenaries, agents, and thieves. We also warn any family, institutional entity, or suspicious company against collaborating with the Zionist enemy's plans to create suspicious and agentic alternatives to UNRWA." It stressed that "the resistance's security forces and groups now have the full authority and authorization to strike with all force and determination at the hands of any body or person who intersects with or responds to the enemy's plans or any agent who is outside the law and the traditions and customs of our people, and that all agents, thieves, and criminal armed gangs will be a legitimate target for the resistance's security forces and groups, and he who has been warned is excused." Trump slaps new travel ban on 12 countries

US President Donald Trump signed a new travel ban that comes into effect on Monday targeting 12 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran and Yemen, reviving one of the most controversial measures from his first term. Trump said on Wednesday the measure was spurred by a makeshift flamethrower attack on a Jewish protest in Colorado that US authorities blamed on a man they said was in the country illegally. The move bans all travel to the United States by nationals of Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, according to the White House. Trump also imposed a partial ban on travelers from seven other countries: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela. Some temporary work visas from those countries will be allowed. "The recent terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, has underscored the extreme dangers posed to our country by the entry of foreign nationals who are not properly vetted," Trump said in a video message from the Oval Office posted on social media platform X.
